I'm working on a pixel quilt right now. I have hundreds of 1.5" & 2.5" for all 19 colors in my project. I use the Lori Holt box to place all my sandwich baggies with the smaller pieces by letter. My quilt is 9 blocks across by 12 rows down. I found that sewing the blocks into horizontal quarters first is better, so they fit within the quarter row of each block. I'm seeing my blocks by row, so A1, B1, C1, D1 etc. Places that have a 4.5 x 4.5" or similar it's important to piece all the smaller pieces before adding that larger piece. Yours looks like it has more larger pieces than mine, but mine is my daughter on her wedding day. I pull the small pieces from Lori's box as I need them. I use a 12-14" design board to lay out each block into the horizontal quarters I mentioned before as each section needs separation and 10" is too small. You could always store your large baggies in the box that Lori's file box came in and pull as needed from both boxes. Hope this makes sense and maybe helps you with some ideas. Good luck! ~Linda

One thing I did notice on my blocks, I have to be careful and can’t start piecing together. I have to really look to see which small ones need to go together first before sewing the bigger ones to them. I don’t think I could have done something more intricate than this one for my first one. I keep telling myself, just one bite at a time (one block at a time). Hoping it goes pretty smooth for me😬

Perhaps you can enlarge the individual sheet for each section, label and set out on a design board and check off on the sheet each time you complete a row.❤

Definitely using my design boards on this one. I’m hoping I can run to Walmart and get a few more foam boards so I can more. I’ll need at least 6 of the same size for each row and each block in that row.

Putting one block at a time on the design boards will save you a lot of headaches. Good job. Praying for you little one.

I would assemble each block and then put the blocks together.

I I have it but haven't cut anything and I don't know how I'm gonna tackle it yet. I've never done a pixel quilt before but it looked interesting enough and different enough to wanna give it a try. Pretty sure I'll do 1 block at a time though.

I use the metal cookie trays from dollar tree and magnets to hold my blocks

I need to look and see what ours has. The one close to my house has not been the best when it comes to items in stock.

Omg Lauren that’s so much. Lol. Maybe keep as is and pull as you need to sew. Maybe do for 2-3 blocks. If that process doesn’t work you can regroup. Haha. As I’m typing this you started saying the same thing. 😊

😂 I was trying to figure out a way to not have to mix all the colors together. Definitely going to concentrate on one row and one block at a time. Hopefully can get some more foam boards today 🤞🏼

Yes! I’m slowly putting mine all into zipper bags. We have 2 dogs in the house, and cats, and I don’t want animal hair all over my fabric 😩. I’m trying to slowly organize them by designer, but it may take me some time lol. I have more than I thought 🫣

Not too sure I would take on a pixel quilt, looks tedious. I've been a applique quilter for many years but they take so much time, and if I am going to make quilts that are excessively time consuming, think I'd probably do applique because I have more control over the objects i am making. That is going to be a really cute quilt and I am anxious to see when you are done!

Yeah I got overwhelmed looking at all the pieces when cutting lol. I think if I concentrate one row and one block at a time, I’ll be ok. (Or I hope). Definitely taking my time with this and this is definitely a challenge quilt for me. I am so intimidated by appliqué quilting, I’ve seen quilts I wanna do, but chicken out lol

Using the design boards will help. I would probably use a 12 or 14 inch board to give you plenty of room. Sorry about kadance being sick. You are a good mommy 💕. Protect them when you can. I have attached my email to the other video, and when I go back, it's not there. You let me know if you see it. You did awesome cutting all those pieces. See you later.
