Godzilla final wars is such an underrated movie. It's Godzilla's 50th anniversary film that went all out, had 15 kaiju, had don fyre and his awesome one liners, and was made to be an awesome, good time. I was so not a fan of this one when it first released. It wasn't so much a problem with the content itself (although I wasn't crazy about anime ninja people in a Godzilla movie), but the timing. We knew that this was going to be the final Godzilla before Toho did another hiatus, and who knew how long it would last this time? (as it turned out 12 years) In the face of such indefinite absence, I was hoping at the time the last Godzilla would be more serious, something closer to the original. Final Wars was obviously the opposite of that. So I didn't care for it one bit. These days I love watching it. Everything about it is glorious. Gimme that ridiculous shit in my veins, man.

The lore , the designs, the stories, I loved how ridiculous and fun the series was, with so many tv shows and movies taking themselves so seriously it was nice to have a series that went all out with its genre for so many films and to have so many memorable moments. Final Wars was the pinnacle and is probably my favorite, King of the Monsters I loved, it was pure fan service like Final Wars, it felt like the first american godzilla film structured like a toho film. I love this film, even though it's overflowing with content it's the most fun of all the G movies. Gigan and Ghidorah reach new levels of epicness in this one, when I saw they chose this version of Gigan for the game I was ecstatic

I love this channels name! I just had a talk with one of my teachers two days ago. I talked about wanting to see the new Godzilla movie, she said she’d never seen any of the movies but she saw the Saturday morning cartoon she then said “up from the depths, 30 stories high.” I said it along with her, I was such a Godzilla nut as a kid I got the dvd to the cartoon and I remembered the words. I love final wars, ironically it was my introduction to Godzilla even though it was the last movie at the time.

Ya know... for a movie running at two hours that was meant to be the last Godzilla movie for a decade as well as commemorating 50 years of Godzilla, there wasn’t much Godzilla until well over a hour into the plot. It’s different with G 2014 because a CGI Godzilla movie is tremendously expensive, millions more than the old traditional Toho way.

When it comes to my movie library I have this thing I like to call my Top Shelf. This is because it is in a cabinet separate from where I keep my other movies. The movies I put there are movies I could watch repeatedly all day and not get board. Final Wars is a part of that. With all the Godzilla movies I like though, well let's just say I need a bigger shelf. However, no matter what Final Wars will always be a part of my Top Shelf. How much did I like it? Take a gooooood look at my avatar

One of Final Wars' missteps was the score by Keith Emerson. Years ago, a fan rescored much of the film with Akira Ifukube's themes and pieces from various movies, and it was glorious and so, so perfect.

This one was also originally going to be a sequel to Destoroyah, following the grown-up Godzilla Jr. from the ending of that film. They even started building the models expecting Godzilla to be the same size as the Heisei era (100 meters tall) before Toho just decided to make it another stand-alone film. Also, I wish they could have integrated Jet Jaguar in the movie. My idea was that he would have been built by the military (similar to Kiryu) and maybe even take down one of the weaker monsters like Ebirah or whatever, but then immediately get destroyed by Gigan (since they fought each other in the Showa era)

I will always say this; I would rather watch an entertaining movie that's not very good or has it's flaws, over a slow, boring, slick looking movie that thinks it's smarter than what it is. By 2004, what could they do? Re-make the original, or try and simply reboot another classic villain for the screen? Nah, just throw all the Godzilla tropes in a blender, add some western action movie influence (Works for John Woo and the Chinese action flicks, why not Japan?) and just go to town with it. This movie knows what it's doing, it's entertaining and celebrating 50 years of Godzilla and for 2 hours of your life, it's not that much to exchange.

I just saw this movie for the first time two days ago. As some of you know ordering the DVDs or Blu-ray is about the only way we can get that some of the Japan movies now. I have watched everything HBO Max has to offer. The way you describe this movie at the beginning of the video is exactly how I felt and I loved it! This felt like Godzilla destroy all monsters meets Star Wars meets the matrix.

As a 6 year old, this was my all time favorite Godzilla movie. Everything about it was so over the top (Which I could tell even then) that I loved it. I usually got tired out right by the final act and never actually remember watching the finale. I consider it a trainwreck of a movie, but so entertaining and fun that it is in my top 5.

I LOVE this film and see it as a Celebration...a party, if you will. After all, as an anniversary, time to celebrate, right? If I had to guess, that was probably the intent. Anyone who thinks it's too frantic/energetic/wild, should realise Gojira is just a 'small' part of an entire tokusatsu genre...which often is exactly this frenetic/energetic/wild. Final Wars is more in line with the main tokusatsu genre IMHO (which is fine by me)

This is my favorite Godzilla movie of all time. While it has its weak points I loved every second of it. The suit was the one of the most intimidating Godzilla designs, with only Shin and the original beating it out. This is not a complex, thought provoking film in the slightest, but dang it, it was a fun experience from start to finish. 9.99/10
