I love making staffed cabbage rolls, but it is a time consuming dish.
My Mom, as a busy woman she was, made unstuffed cabbage more often as stuffed ones. So, sharing her recipe. These are mush easier to make, but they taste similar to stuffed ones.
I hope you will enjoy my Mom's recipe.
UNSTUFFED CABBAGE ROLLS
For the rolls you will need:
3.5 lb. ground beef ( or a combination of beef and pork)
1 large onion (finely minced)
1 large carrot (shredded)
4 cloves garlic (minced)
½ a head of green cabbage (chopped)
4 large eggs
small bunch parsley (finely shopped)
½ medium or short grain rice (partially cooked for 7 minutes)
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons pepper
2 teaspoons ground coriander
Cooking oil or Ghee for frying
For the Sauce:
4 cups Heavy cream
3 tablespoons tomato paste
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon dried parsley
Bake at 350°F(180°C) for 45-60 minutes until rolls are slightly browned.

This dish looks so good!! I think I like the creamy sauce better than the usual tomato based sauce.
