This particular vlog has certainly brought the serenity and peacefulness of electric boating for me, especially the bit with the music accompaniment, just sheer bliss. When we were boating, it was all diesel/petrol, so couldn't appreciate the stillness until we were moored up. Now too ancient to do anything about it, but can do it vicariously. Thanks for your sharing.🕊

This video reminds me of why I am a supporter of your channel. The beauty of the canal with the music you picked, and then just the quiet afterword with the sounds of the birds and just the little burbling sound your boat makes in the water--it was so restful. And then the occasional quick focus on a detail, like the shot of the leaf, or the ring chain in the hands as you went to moor up. And a bit of chatting as well! I find canal life does make you smiley and chatty, maybe its the slow nice pace. Loved the real time cruising with bird song and some music plus reflections in both the canal water and on the sky light. Think it gives people who havent cruised a good idea of the peace and quiet and pace. Even two 90 minute journeys added to work hours makes for a long day, hope you get a bit closer. Nice to have a glimpse of Brewood. I’ve been doing some family history and discovered one of my great grandmothers , who married a man from Lichfield, was baptised in Brewood. Her parents were married in Kinver and the next generation back was from just outside Worcester. I have a theory that the gradual family migration from Worcester to Staffordshire was along the rivers and canals.

Paul I’d say Brewoods like you if I heard it but looking at the spelling actually written we’d say Bre woods funny how different we can make a word. I used to love Hartley Hare - goodness knows how I’m not traumatised! It’s the scariest hare in the world. Not a lot of choice on the telly when we were little though 😂😂 Keep up the good work with the healthy eating Anthony, you can definitely see the progress ☺️ I found only having a drink for a special occasion helped me - working in social care there was a time when I’d happily have a drink every evening 😮 Got in to some terrible habits during the pandemic and then carried on! It can’t have been the last couple of weeks for sure and hope you were both inside next to that cosy fire. The bridges are just so beautiful along there, each one different that before and I often wonder how long it took to build them during construction. Another glorious vlog guys, just so relaxing. I have to admit to watching it in two parts though as I ended up spiraling into an orgy of Hartley Hare/Pipkin"s watching! I love that someone else remembers Hartley Hare, though I may have nightmares tonight! 😲😁❤️

Now that was a handy pub having a laundry right there 🤣. Nice cruise with the birds singing so relaxing. It was so pretty along that stretch of canal. Have a good weekend unfortunately my hubby is in chemotherapy now so we are taking it easy at the moment. ❤

A lovely serene vlog, watching the reflections in your skylights is absolutely mesmerising, we hadn’t realised how they totally change the forward view. One thing I was curious about was, when you filled up with diesel there was a sign that said , surcharge for diesel used for propulsion. If you only use your generator to charge the batteries, do you use any diesel for propulsion? It’s such a stupid tax law

Hey Crichie. We were the same re the skylights. Never realise the other perspective of cruising. Theoretically, we don’t use diesel for propulsion (not directly anyway) so we can declare 0%. It is a stupid taxation and difficult to police I suspect. Have a fab week ❤️

For "non drinkers" youre certainty finding all the moorings by a pub strangely enough 😉😂 Gnosall is gorgeous. Had two days there on the way home from Birmingham

Hello Paul, Anthony and Dexter. Just caught up with your videos and started at the beginning. My wife, Melody, and I have watched them all. Really appreciate these. We are planning our first NB experience for late 2024 and are doing all the research we can. For now thinking of doing the 4 counties ring over 3 weeks to allow plenty of time to explore. Any good luck with the new Mourning Star, I'm very interested to see how the all electric boat works out.

Cheers Lee. I do remember Topov. It was a strange programme. 😂. We did have a few weeks where getting to work was easier and that was fantastic, but back to sleeping in the van again now. I loved the stag pic too. Dexter is doing ok. He had had the week at my Mums. Have a great week. ❤️

The quietness of your cruise enhances the vlog, the noise of the old style engines mask the sounds of wildlife in and arround the canal. I propose the quiet engines should become standard on all Narrowboats, the noise pollution would decrease greatly.

This is exactly what we love about our boat. Whilst we miss the engine noise a little, the sounds of the birds definitely makes up for it. Have fabulous week ❤️

Always love your vlogs. The part from 14:23, with the natural sounds, and then the perfect choice of music fading in, was absolutely beautiful. The birds over the music with that steady shot of the canal with those reflections...like a high end documentary. Stunning editing and so artistic. Gave me chills that did, really beautiful and so tranquil to watch.

What a beautiful stretch of canal, it looked so pretty and the bird songs were delightful. Are you going into a marina for the harshest parts of the winter, so that you don’t get frozen in somewhere? It really was Janice. We loved the Shroppie. The bird song is so much clearer with the electric propulsion. We aren’t going into a marina. Many years ago, I looked at buying one of those houses opposite your mooring - seeing the scaffold I’m feeling pleased I didn’t (though it may just be for painting)!! I love that stretch of canal and it’s even more beautiful from your boat as it slides noiselessly through the water. I keep wondering how things are for you, this December has been so bitterly cold.

Hey Joy. It really was beautiful along this Stretch. I am not sure if the scaffolding was for cosmetic or structural reasons but they are pretty. We are doing fine thank you. The diesel heater gives us controllable heat so we are never cold. Hope you have a good week ❤️

This was one of the most beautiful cruises I've seen. I'm curious if you only show the lovely places, or if you haven't cruised in big city canals. I watched another boat's cruise and there was so much graffiti and a lot of trash. It made me sad to see that. So happy to get back to the beautiful people on Morning Star! Thanks for sharing Paul's work, too -- he is quite talented, isn't he!

Happy Friday evening! 🥰 Hope it's lovely. Not too much going on around here. The weather is still nice somehow. 57 right now and 62 tomorrow but I keep seeing stuff about a big snowstorm coming. Hope that is wrong! 😊 Funny how exciting doing laundry can be when you can wash and dry somewhere else. 🙂 Lovely cruise as always and the canal is really nice. Great vlog as usual. You were both really nice to my Husband and his friend when you gave them a lift back to our boats after you came down the Bosley Locks in the pouring rain. Your skylights are amazing but does it feel weird when the rain comes lagging down on them?

Oh Anthony - if my scale was telling me I was down 14 pounds, I would lose another 14 just doing the happy dance😄 when I was in university I bought some jeans that were size 0 which I definitely wasn’t, I suspect they were seconds because the wrong tag was sewn in, and I spent far (far!) too long trying to figure out if I could display the tag on the outside! 😆
