One of the things you can do is on your coolant side from the engine run that line off of the outlet Side of the Heater core for the heater and then you can use the reg heater dials to adjust for temp control..

If it gets too hot just have another bucket of cold water to top up your main bucket to suit. Turning the engine off once its up to temperature is a good idea to keep it safe. Having the spray head is also a great idea for the reasons you already mentioned.

It works really well but isn't efficient. I recently bought the Geyser system and love it due to sure simplicity and convenience. I can get it out and have hot water with much less hassle with the Geyser. But this system has it perks!

Works pretty good, it could be perfected, but I wanted to keep to simple. Coolant leaks are no fun in BFE.

super interesting setup! seems like a way better alternative to have one of those huge "solar shower" tubes, I'll probably look into seeing if I can have some kind of temperature regulation for it...

Yeah I’ve never had room for one, and quite frankly my roof is heavy enough. 4 gallons up top is a lot of sloshing weight. Temperature would be fairly difficult, just because it takes a bit to warm up. Might be best off using a stick on thermometer on the bucket perhaps.

If you add a tempering valve into your plumbing set-up you will h e able to control the temperature

I built a Copper Heat Exchanger but it was huge. I have heard good things on the vevor , but How many plates? 30 or 40 ?

Damn, sorry to hear that. May I ask what issues you’ve had? High elevation or just ignition issues in general? I was actually planning on one for the next build.

@@IndependenceOverland I was really excited about the Joolca and bought the entire kit with the sink, etc. I've tried it a few times in a variety of environments as has my buddy. Each of us have had ongoing issues keeping the water pressure perfect enough for the Joolca to run property. It's very hit or miss. I have a Road Shower that I pressurize with a electric pump that I feed into the Joolca. Every so often you will get one hot shower, or one load of dishes. But it's so unreliable I rather not go through the hassle of setting it all up, taking up space, just to have it fail or kinda sorta work. There's plenty of little leaks with all the fittings also. At the end of the day, I prefer boiling water for dishes and I cold plunge every morning so if there's water, I'm getting in. I think if I added an automatic pump that constantly regulates the pressure inside the Road Shower it may work. But Independence Overland's set up seems WAY simpler, so will probably scrap the Joolca and give it a go.

@@IndependenceOverland That would be cool. And I know I'm not the only one with a similar Joolca experience. It's one of those items that looks great, but performs very poorly in the field.
