Like I said early in the video, I wasn’t sure of pricing when I first recorded this back in October. I took a quick look at the website while editing the video. Pricing is a fair bit more, but I do still think it’s worth it. I can’t find comparable wire with as much shielding as the Redarc kit has, and the junction box just saves lots of time down the road. If it were me, I’d buy the 40/50 kit no matter what your installing so you can upgrade easier if you need to later. Sorry about the mistake! And for you guys checking out the Baja videos. There are several published. It’s a BIG find. It’s not just a bone!

Yes yes yes bro. I opted for the 40 too. 😆 Miss and love these vids… That distribution box is a game changer! Haha. Wish I knew this was coming out before I went on the hunt for all my wiring gear. RedArc - a conk shell. I am currently living in my 1999 Dodge Durango and I live in Eugene, OR. I'm on a shoestring budget. I have a job, but the Lord want me to live in my car for now - I'm guessing - but to humble me, and to appreciate everything He does for me, which i do most definately. I like the video and your rig! I just installed mine on the 2022 ram power wagon. I have Dakota lithium and was wondering about the blue wire… I left it alone and when the truck is off the Li light on the charger blinks. What do you think? Should I install on ignition source or not? Also do you have a isolator or does the charger automatically isolate?

The charger automatically isolates. I’ll have to look at my Redarc manual regarding the blue wire, it’s been a while. I think the ignition switch is for vehicles with smart alternators which yours may have.

Hey great video! I have the same setup, the redarc 1225D and I think this is not enough for everything (Fridge, lights and converter) even with 100w solar panel, how the 1240D works? Thank you 🙏

It’s crazy how fast it charges! It’s better for my little battery because now in the rare situation I need to get the battery topped off, I can idle the Fj for 15 minutes and gain loads of power back. For the next build I intend to use a 40 or perhaps even larger. We will see.

Question about fridges with lithium batteries. What are you setting your low voltage shutoff to? The high end on mine is 11.1 which is nearly dead for lithium.

I just keep mine on the very lowest setting since lithium holds out so long. Also that feature is mostly for older battery types or people who use their starting battery and want to be able to start their truck back up in the morning! With my Redarc stuff I literally never have to worry about running out of juice.

The only products I’ve used from them are the jump start batteries, so I couldn’t tell you. The main thing I guess is to just look up videos about their claimed Ah rating. Lots of the inexpensive batteries fall short when tested.

I am working on a dual battery setup and looking at ideas for mines using lithium batteries 12v 135amp. I am paying close attention.

I suggest the 40 or 50 amp BCDC system.

I saw people running a constant 400w mod for FJ and other toyota OEM inverter, but a free Redarc. Yes please. The unexpected surprise was whatle carcass 🐋🦴🩻. Also, that for making all these high quality videos. I enjoy watching all of your videos.

Yeah people have done that, but then people having to recharge the battery supplying the inverter. It would drain it quick! This is a much quicker/better system I assure you!

I assume this is a DC to DC charger that is lithium battery friendly? What is the easiest way to know if you have a smart alternator or not?

Yes, my original video covers the battery. Mine is lithium. I believe just googling your vehicle alternator will give you the information your looking for.

You found a stingray, also I think the FJ Cruiser actually does have a smart alternator so you might want to connect that blue wire. I am about to put in a 300amp alternator in my FJ.

Thanks Samuel! Yeah wiring stuff takes a lot of time and effort. For people new to wiring, this also takes the fire risk out. A lot of people don’t understand wire sizes and voltage drops or fire risks. This takes the guess work out.

@@EdJZatta I didn’t realize there was a drop down and the prices went up. My mistake. I do still think it’s worth it because of the fact that you can so easily modify it later. And the charger can be upgraded without rewiring because the wire is so beefy. You can get wire cheaper, but it’s not shielded like the Redarc stuff is.
