I'm glad to hear that watching has made the process seem more approachable! The Loomis method, named after well-known illustrator Andrew Loomis, can indeed be challenging to grasp at first. It involves understanding complex aspects of human anatomy and translating them into simplified forms. However, with consistent practice and study, you surely will improve. Remember, even the most skilled artists had to start somewhere, and they also faced difficulties along the way. So, don't get discouraged if you don't get it perfect at the beginning. Keep practicing, keep learning, and most importantly, keep enjoying the process! 🎨😄

@@onepenciltutorial yeah man, you are right. The thing for me, as a beginner is not being able to find the placement and position of the circles, but with enough practice, I got the hang of it.

For me this is one of the easier methods. Stuff like grids never make sense to me
@eddiebear34

@VVesteria the grid is so much easier for me. My art teacher noticed my art work slanted and leaned from left to right. He said it was a characteristic of my work I might never shake. He was right... until I discovered the grid method years later. My grid squares have gotten smaller and smaller, and now it's basically just 4 squares (page divided into 4)

@ShoutaVideos

OMG you made me draw!!!! thank youuuu

I understand that you use the "summoning circle" method in drawing. This is an interesting method, but it can be difficult to learn. It's important to remember that everyone has their own way of drawing, and there is no right or wrong way. If you're interested in learning the Loomis method, I would recommend practicing the basic steps carefully. You can also try drawing from life to improve your ability to see proportions. I wish you all the best in your artistic journey!

One honest doubt. Should we draw guidelines in the reference??? And should we draw exact same sized circle on the paper?? Your reply would be helpful. Thanks ❤

I believe they did that to show the loomis-head concept but for you own practice, taking references and trying to break the shapes down with simple shapes and guidlines can be very helpful to learn proportions and anatomy, just be careful and keep in mind that you don't trace, you just simplify the shapes that you see and learn to mimic them in a study of the reference that you broke down, it is a efficient way to learn, a lot of people in the animation industry do that for example.

no rules in art, do as you wish :)
The mark of a true artist: Drawing any shape despite some predisposition to what it should look like. example: The nose is not intuitive in this photo. This is something I would struggle to draw.

it's not a tallent till it's certain rule. I mean, what if I don't want to draw some circles first? Usually I starting with the eyes, or even haircut. Using this start point it's pretty heavy to draw something good, but when you get it, you get it not because of "rules of draw" but because of your own sensations of your art
