The Beauty of Precision: Drawing a Flawless Girl's Portrait

How to Draw a Portrait Using the Loomis Method" is an instructional video aimed at teaching viewers how to draw a portrait using the Loomis method. The video is designed to be accessible to individuals of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced artists.
The Loomis method is a popular approach for drawing realistic and proportionate portraits, involving the use of simple shapes and guidelines to construct the head's structure.
The tutorial then proceeds to the actual drawing process, with the artist demonstrating each step along the way. The artist begins by sketching an approximate outline of the head and then adds in the facial features such as the eyes, nose, and mouth. The video emphasizes the importance of paying attention to the proportions of the head and the placement of features to create a realistic likeness.
Overall, "How to Draw a Portrait Using the Loomis Method" serves as an excellent resource for anyone interested in learning how to draw a portrait using the Loomis method. It offers clear and concise guidance, making it easy for viewers to follow along and improve their drawing skills.

Another amazing video. I watched last time but I thought it would be fun to draw along as a little portrait study this time. My drawing looked a little like the reference. It's not going to look similar to the reference on the first try but it was still good practice. I'm going to do more of these in the future. Thank you for sharing your tutorials. 😁

I really like watching these kinds of videos! Of course the result is not exactly the same as the original but that does not mean that it is not a good drawing. Personally I like it. And she reminds me a bit of Halle Bailey too! 🧜🏾‍♀️ 🧡

I'm glad to hear that you enjoy watching these types of videos! You're absolutely right, each drawing is unique and even if it's not an exact replica of the original, it can still be a wonderful piece of art. I appreciate your positive perspective. It's interesting that she reminds you of Halle Bailey! Art often has its own way of evoking different associations. If you ever want to explore more techniques or have questions, feel free to reach out. Keep finding joy in art! 🎨🌟😊

The eyes are too far and they both should be a little to her left as the mouth and the point of the jaw. Or just move the neck to her right a little and reduce her left cheek. See how the line of the neck is different from reference, face elements are too frontal in the drawing while has a little til in the reference. I hope I wasn't impolite.

Hello! I'm very pleased with your feedback, and all of it is indeed true. However, I'd like to add something. This lesson is specifically for drawing the outline only, so there might be some variations. But when shading is added, it can easily adjust and refine all these differences with great ease.

My GIANT problem that keeps me from moving forward is hair, especially on the ladies. I simply have NO feel for where the actual skull is under the hair. When I cannot see the top of the skull, I don't know how to draw the initial arc around it. How can I better gauge this and move forward from my MAJOR sticking point that I never hear others worry about?

Thank you for your feedback! I appreciate your attention to detail. You're absolutely right, sometimes small issues like the size and spacing between the eyes can make a significant difference in the overall appearance. When it comes to final shading, these minor adjustments can be easily addressed to ensure a more accurate and realistic representation. I'll definitely keep these points in mind for future drawings. Your input is valuable in helping me improve. 🎨👁️👁️

Thank you for your feedback and observation! You're absolutely right; small errors are common in the sketching process. I appreciate your keen eye in identifying the wide jawline on the left side and the roundness under the chin. Your input is valuable as it helps me improve and refine the drawing further. I'll make sure to pay more attention to these details and work on enhancing the shading and realism to address these issues. Your constructive criticism motivates me to strive for better results in my artwork. Thanks again for your thoughtful feedback! 🎨😊
