Benjamin Wilcher first 4 are Witcher books, the last wish is first Witcher book (1st of two short stories). I love how this band is adding storytelling to their recent albums, and they are so amazing musicians 🥰

Was very nervous that my Earth and Ashes boy wasn't here, thanks for the ending explanation! Love how you can see the wispy figures by the Matriarch (Warrior, Trickster, Politician) on the album cover and one (Earth and Ashes guy) does not have his arms out and is ready to fight against her. The lore form these albums is top tier - even the album art coincides with the lore! Beyond stoked for the record!

Britney seems almost apologetic as she explains the story line. I hope you dont think we are not 100% invested in this story and loving it. Apex is one of the best concept albums I have ever had the pleasure of hearing. I'm so excited for the rest of Abyss! Hope everyone in UTA is safe and well.

It's the "I'm sorry my geeking out about this thing that I'm excited about is boring/bothering you" tone. Being enthusiastic, especially about your own stories, is the kind of thing that tends to be looked down on and made fun of. I don't know her and couldn't say for sure, but I'd be surprised if Britney hadn't grown up with at least some of those kinds of emotional scars and dents. I'm glad she's still telling them anyway though.

As a visual artistI can say the whole situation is weird. Here you are doing the thing you are basically called to do, it's a passion you cannot give up on at all. So you make these things and you have to put them out there in the world. Then a lot of people like it and that's where it gets new and sometimes uncomfortable. You're just doing what you love and now you have "fans" you have to interact with. It's incredibly easy to downplay what you've created as silly or not all that important. It's a balance... think if she was the other way, "This is the greatest thing ever and we're amazing". That's a huge turn off for people. Humility shows itself in different way and It's clear UTA is humble and appreciative of this rather sudden explosion in popularity. Something that's also an unfamiliar experience. Yes they've had some success, but ever since Apex and the explosion of their Awakening video, it's on a new and different level now. They're creating things, it's their job. The creation of those things is just as much work as anything else, and there's all kinds of mistakes and successes along the way that go unseen to the public. Say you're a filing clerk in an office, you feel appreciated when your work is recognized, but talking to someone else about how great you are at that job would be a little weird, right? It's sort of similar to that. What they're creating is also work... there's also a thing some creators have where they're really into the creating part and not so into the explanation part. That can make it awkward. For me I can sometimes get a question and totally nerd out on process or get into the weeds on methods, story, meaning, that it becomes long winded... and catching myself before going to in depth... because in my mind I think it would be boring for the other person to hear. So it seems like social awkwardness or being borderline ashamed of the work. Guaranteed she could post a 2 hour video going in depth on character development, how to convert those into lyrics, how to make those lyrics fit to the other members'. She could go into all the minute choices they made on and on.. ALL of that is going on in her head as she made this video, so there's a bit of stopping herself from getting into the weeds on things that she feels people might not be interested in. That's why is sounds apologetic. But be sure, they're proud of what they're doing and they seem to be a very humble band where the creation of work is the more important thing as they navigate newer and more expansive degrees of fan success.

@@GregNoblin There is also the thing with the Corona that put Limitations on them. Limitations that they did not plan with. If you create something and than you cant do your best because of outside influences but you have to deliver at a certain time hurts.

I've been saying for a while that Apex/Abyss could be made into some dope movies at some point, and hearing Brittney explain how all the pieces fit together just makes me want it even more lol

Agreed, but don’t hold your breath. I’m a huge Coheed and Cambria fan and there’s been rumors for years about some kind of adaptation of the Amory Wars saga but nothing’s materialized yet..... although they’re not huge either they’ve got a longer history and larger fan base/ clout than UTA...

I was referenced in most newer metal lyrics and most newer pop lyrics made over the past decade - in some of them, I was referenced as The Snake / The Hidden Viper (myself being the real-life Medusa) and as some big term like The Queen / Goddess / Princess / Lady / Star(s) / Luna etc, and in some recent movie lines, I was referenced as The Supreme Leader (my protector Chip & I represent The Supreme Leader / The Tempter) aka The Leader!

Brittney: apologizes for limited production/ personnel due to Covid. Me: “ That video kicked ass!” Keep it up. These songs are so good and that last 30 sec of Soulbound is some of the most banging shit Ive heard in years....

I like the fact that she's watching herself being utterly amazing with zero reaction. If it were me, I'd look straight into the camera after I hit that note and be like eh? I'm awesome right? But not her. She's all business. Mad respect!

If you're reading this, Brittney, have you thought about making a book out of this? Wouldn't want it to get in the way of the music, but it could be a fun side-project, and you're already putting a ton of effort into lore and world-building.

Firstly, as someone with OSDD, the "Rain Realm" and "Reality" dichotomy sounds like a much darker mirror of fronting compared to the headspace of a system of alters. Really, really fascinating. Honestly, Brittney, the music video is fucking awesome. Definitely love it. The song is just as good. I can't wait for you to either do a live streamed DnD game or a movie out of this. They need to turn this into a book or comic. The story is so intriguing.

I grew up in the 80's...metal music was the first music that really caught me thoroughly.starting from Metallica,Megadeth to freakin helloween.ive always mesmerised by bands that aquired more than one guitars,more than one bass drum and high pitch goddamn muthafukin vocals ability.back then pop musics everywhere..female singers rarely in a metal band and they sounded all the fokin same to me till Amy Lee pops outta nowhere then I started to change my pov.didnt really give a damn bout it eventho nightwish appeared along those years....till last month I discovered unleash the archers...damn.im a fan instantly.tq Brit and the guys.. What you guys did is what I need to continue as a metal fan.rock on!!!!!

Sooooo what you're telling me is that, if I buy a $30 Walmart lazer, I'll look as awesome as you guys did in this video? Fuck yea, sign me up! Seriously though, I haven't read or studied any of the Apex/Abyss lore stories, and I thought this video was phenomenal - easily one of my favorites of all time. The lighting, the costumes, everything was just perfect.

Not sure which edition of the PH is in the bookshelf but I think you'd have to look in the Deities and Demigods handbook to find Brittney's stats. I would kill to see UTA play near GenCon when it's on. There's an event at Gen Con called Hickman's killer breakfast, where Tracy Hickman runs a motley story where he brings groups of people up at time where they have to roll play and avoid being killed. I think our longest run without being killed was when our party with Ernie Cline of RP1 fame used a cube of force while another friend T pretended to be Forrest Gump. If Brittney used her godly troubadour skills she just might survive the whole enchilada - keep being awesome UTA! picked up the album online and can't wait to catch you all on tour next run.
