    My son was born one week ago, on the 21st, the same day as the album release. This was the first music he heard in his life. This album is getting me through 2 am feedings and sleep deprivation. Every track is amazing, the story comes through and adds a whole other level to the music, the emotion is palpable. Thank you guys for all your hard work, and this contribution to the world. UTA is inspiring.

    i like the subversion of the vengeance trope. she says the grandson doesnt feel fulfilled by the vengeance of taking the immortal away from the matriarch. but it sound like he gets very fulfilled and lots of satisfaction from setting the immortal free in carry the flame. so instead of the "i have killed my enemy and i feel no better" trope we have seen everywhere we get a minor bit of that in legacy and then we get more where the grandson finds a way to feel true satisfaction by doing good. it really illustrates a (in my opinion) very real world application of causing harm to your enemies helps nothing but doing good all around is much more productive. dont know if that was intentional but thats what i took away from those two songs

  • @baseballdude13000

    @baseballdude13000

    3 жыл бұрын

    I think it's intentional. There's also a part in Afterlife where Immortal contemplates revenge on his own enemies before deciding "vengeance will not make me whole."

    OMG I've just discovered this band!!! Where have you been all my life??? I've been listening to heavy/death metal for most of my 50 odd years of life and UTA are by far the most amazing, most creative, most talented band I've ever heard! Brittany's vocals are the ideal that all the 80s power bands were aiming for but never really achieved. Every song has an "awesome moment" where the music and vocals synch in such a way that they become the most memorable moment of every song. Highlights for me were Legacy and Faster Than Light, both of which are the epitome of awesome riffs and beautiful soaring vocals. I can't wait for the next installment of UTA's story, please take my money and continue making beautiful music forever

    While concept albums have never really been my cup of tea in terms of their story, when I discovered Apex a couple of year ago, I was blown away. The combination of Brittney’s amazing vocals and awesome musicianship is nearing perfection for me, and it rapidly became one of my favourite albums of the last few years. I had been looking forward to seeing UTA at Bloodstock festival, but that wasn’t to be. Maybe next year. So far I’ve listened to Abyss on repeat every day since the CD arrived. Wow - it’s good! Easily as good as Apex, maybe better. Time will tell. Keep up the good work UTA!

    Is there such a thing as The Patriarch? Like a husband of the Matriarch who perhaps clashes against her evil and corrupting control over her many sons? I always thought it be kinda cool if The Matriarch tried creating an evil opposite of The Immortal, stemming from all the bad memories he has of her and all the evil he’s done but like as a physical being that he can battle against. LOVE. LOVE the album, Britt. Really outdid yourself and Abyss is so telling of my life right now in a Post-COVID world, comparing it to the “normalcy” that was the start of this year. I feel so connected to the words and instrumentals in that

A different and varied album from my favorite metal band.Listening the whole album in a sitting is a great experience, you really feel an emotional journey. The band does a great job rocking out and surprising you. The new elements are incorporated well into the songs and it's awesome that even if the music keeps you on your guard, Brittney's voice is there to settle you in and meld it all together into a masterpiece. I think the most surprising song is Legacy and my favorite of the album. That and Soulbound are amazing. Can't wait to hear the next parts of this track by track.

    Waking Dream, even if it was an interlude, is almost like Power Metal ASMR (if that’s even a thing 🤣). It works phenomenally leading into the raw blasting-your-ass-off that Abyss creates, though I’m biased as I love the crap out of the entire album 😂 10 months later after it’s official release and I’m still in love with the songs, this band and especially the cool story behind all the songs!

    Just got done listening to the CD that I just recieved in the mail. A great album! Two good CD's for traveling on the road. More technical music. Saw that the group has only 4 members now.

    I have to say I have been listening to rock and metal since the 80's.... this is one of my favorite albums of all time. I have listened to it on loop since it's release and can't stop. The craftsmanship and care put into this album is breathtaking. The lyrics. The riffs. The power. The melodies. Mindblowing... all of it. This band should be so proud of this achievement. Britney has one of the best voices I've ever heard. Ever. Tones so rich that it brings literal tears to my eyes at times and constant goosebumps, even though I've already heard the songs so many times. Each song is powerful and unique and to add the story is just so much of a gift, I can't thank the band enough. Legacy is one of my favorite songs... that infusion of dream pop, so so so good. I can't wait to hear her talk about The Wind That Shapes the Land. That song is so amazing and the story so rich. Thank you again for making one of my favorite albums of all time!

    Whoever mixed the audio in this video gets 0 stars, but the story is so cool that getting ear raped at the beginning of each section is worth it.
