This language is so beautiful! I learned Korean many years ago, It took me 2 years to hold simple conversations after many hours of study. I wish I could learn this beautiful language so I can actually speak to people when I am in China without a translator :)
So she will start her career working part time in McDonalds and she may open a coffee shop. Couldn't get more western than that. China continues to surprise me. The dating thing however, is very different. I became so interested in the story about Traditional family / cultural ways that i forgot I was there to learn new words and phrases.
This was a very good interview. I particularly enjoyed how you stayed impartial throughout the video and asked questions through the eyes of foreigners. Especially the question about whether the perception of Chinese students relying on parents for money and not having jobs has truth or not. I'm sure you already knew the answer to that, being a native and all. But including these questions about small insights into Chinese society that natives would take for granted is extremely helpful.

Fantastic Eileen, I’m very sure many readers and students will become “your faithful followers” you’re by far one of the best teacher I’ve ever come across !! . You’ve done a real great job in structuring your course contents. You hit upon the essentials and have a methodical approach to learning mandarin which is missing in most of the so called official educational institutions…. Considering your background and hard struggle, that you’ve to go through in producing all these top class well designed videos, you’ve done a wonderful job not only for worldwide students wanting to learn mandarin but you’ve made China very proud of you. Kudos to you !!
You are really a natural as an interviewer, Eileen!
This might be by far my favorite video of yours. I like having you ask many questions and getting more in-depth with one person, rather than asking 50 people the same questions. Looking forward to the next one.

Hey can i get your instagram
What a cool person. Her voice and her Chinese is fun to listen to! This channel has some of the most useful intermediate Chinese content on KZread. I’ve improved several Hsk levels after 100s of hours listening/watching. Thank you!
Spoken Chinese does not know where hsk1 ends or where hsk6 begins. You just learn the basics and dive into the waters. Nothing beats what this wonderful Lady is doing.Great conversation.
Thank you so much for your help. After several years of trying to learn Mandarin from a phone app and other youtube videos, I find your to be the most interesting and relevent. I can pause the video every time and try to memorize specific words. And, I don't feel alone in it ! : ) will donate soon.
Thanks Eileen, no more boring lessons. I actually enjoy learning and listening and taking notes. I make it a point to listen to your videos. You are right, the only way to improve Chinese is to listen more. And that's what I am doing.
Eileen, Your channel and lessons are so helpful. Thanks so much!
It's been quite a journey. Thanks for helping us with these videos. My learning is easy and fun

What you say about listening comprehension is so true.I know 90% of this vocabulary but understanding the spoken word is another thing.I learned something important in the first few minutes which I have come across ,the shi and si pronunciation which has thrown me off.....really really good Eileen.

The non-standard putonghua is very common in China, even among university graduates. So, it is surprising Chinese textbooks and many Chinese teachers don't make a big effort to point this out to their students.
这样子的视频是我最喜欢的因为可以听精致的口音(或者一点儿难地听懂的口音与汉语学生),然后对提高听力很好 谢谢你

你们的频道一般极其有用为练习中文对话,我觉得这种单人采访的视频的格式蛮成功对于这个目的。这种视频的格式比你的别的视频的更容易了解吧。就是说,单人采访格式便让我们注重个别的口音,个别的词汇,等等。
1:38 i think your pinyin for shaowei is wrong: doesn't match my dictionary, or (as far as i can tell) your pronunciation. Do you use automatic transcription to convert hanzi into pinyin?? Strange, i think.
@MandarinCorner2
3 жыл бұрын
You're right. 稍微's pinyin should be shao1 wei1. However, I believe Taiwanese pronounce the word 微 as a second tone. We actually manually check every pinyin, but as you know, it's a lot of them and we can easily miss one or two.
@dnisbet71
3 жыл бұрын
@@MandarinCorner2 Yes, that makes sense. I wasn't trying to get you to manually check these things, so much as, I was surprised that it was wrong, since it was strange that the computer would get it wrong. But Taiwanese is different, so makes sense.
