These are gorgeous SJ, you’ve done it again; finding unusual but very wearable names. I’d love to see a colour related video. I was really drawn to the idea of colour themed name with both Quinn and Wylder, but could never find the perfect one. The funny thing is I just watched your list from last week today and commented that I always hope to hear Blaise and Zélie in your lists and then when I saw this one being flower names I thought I might hear Zélie because it comes from the name Azélie which I’ve read means flower but I’ve also seen it with other meanings. Unique and ancient saint names could be a fun list. Love your videos so much!

I haven't gotten to watch this all day because my daughter (Azula) wanted to go fishing as soon as she woke up, which was very difficult since I'm 7 and a half months pregnant (his name is gonna be Marcellous) and have four other kids, Symphony, Bliss, Riot, and Rebel who wanted to go hunting... Im actually intending on having another after this, and Im not sure what I'll name him/her... I'm just now getting to watch and I love it as always! Keep up the great work!

Brilliant video, I love coming here for baby names as I know I'm not going to hear 10 names that I've heard a million times before. I love Florian, always have, along with Fabian. I do think it sounds quite feminine but I have quite the soft spot for feminine sounding boys names. When you first mentioned Calyx I thought it sounded so cool! I got so excited, was about to add it to my list and then I realised why it sounded familiar. My house is full of Ikea Kallex units! Shame, I thought it would be a good way to honour my brother Callum as well x

Aubrieta is very sweet and sounds very much like a name. A rainbow baby inspired list would be lovely. We're hoping our rainbow will find us and I adore the name Beatrice/Beatrix which means bringer of joy x

I love flower names ! • Artemisia - if you love Greek mythology as well as flowers Artemisia is a perfect choice • Aubrieta - with Aubrey and Audrey, and Etta getting limelight, I think Aubrietta has a chance of getting more used • Belemir - Turkish name for cornflower, and both Belle and Miri make great nns • Cleome - I am not sure how to pronounce this but I still love this one • Cosmos - flower names for boys are so rare • Dianella - I love both Diana and Diane so it's no surprise Dianella is part of my list • Florian - there is a First Men myth Florian and Jonquil in Asoiaf series and I like both names • Lunaria - both Luna and Aria are popular due to character names and Lunaria is a perfect mash of the two • Matthiola - if you have a male relative named Matthew and want to honor him, Matthiola is perfect for it • Mirabilis - there is also Mirabilia a Latin word for marvel, and both are great alternatives to Mirabel • Quince - I didn't like Q names before but Quinn and Quince are amazing • Rosebay - as a Rose name lover I will add this to my list • Ruellia - there is also Rue, Ruellia tuberosa or tubroses is my favorite scent

Here some more: I’m gonna say some from Brazil: - Flor- Flower in Portuguese. This name is really trending right now around here. Kind of a hipster name. We don’t have the tradition of having to have 2 names, but with Flor, it’s very common to see what we call “compound names”, Lots of babies Maria Flor out there (Maria is ALWAYS #1 in Brazil. Thanks! I'm really glad you liked it :) I thought no-one would care about Brazilian names, and the history behind some of those name. I really enjoy history, so I try to read as much as possible about as much cultures I can, and I think names tells a lot about a period of time, about a culture, change in society..and I names are cool in general! hahha .

My favorite flower names are: Clover, Acacia, Sage, and Magnolia (Maggie for short). An Aubrieta could also go by Brie. Unfortunately, where I am from, Bud has a very strong association with marijuana.

florian is a very common boys name in germany! I'd guess it had it's peak in the nineties though. and it doesn't sound feminin at all but that must come down to how we don't roll the R or have a soft letter R in german. so the pronunciation is a little bit different :) nice name selection by the way. loved the name trillium, maybe because it reminds me of ottilie which was my great grandmas name :)

Haha trillium is a famous brewery in Boston, my dad just HAD to go visit when we went for my college tours

I have 6 children, my 4 daughters all have a floral name. 💕 Even though, I love to garden, It started because I was naming my girls after my grandmas.

I have heard Bud is a slang for cannabis in the UK so doesn’t have good annotations for me but love buddy so much, it was our wonderful dogs name. My favourite floral name is Posy/ Posie - I often change my mind on the spelling , I considered primrose with posie as the nickname but husband really dislikes the name, would love to meet a little posie or maybe I’ll name a pet posie or something. Would love maybe a fairytale book/ classic book inspired list if you haven’t done one already. Would of loved being named after a great book xx

In from Ontario, Canada, so I really liked hat you added Trillium ☺️. I would not have thought to use that for a name but I do think it would be adorable for a girl. Also Calyx is definitely a cool handsome kinda name for a boy that I’v never heard. How do u keep yourself from not having more babies because I have this silly need to have more just so I can name them, hahaha, so I can only imagine how much you would love to name more babies 😂. But alas I have 3 kids now and don’t have plans for more

There's a little Calyx James in our Ace's pre-k class and it suits him down to a t! His is pronounced CAY-LIX :)

Floor is a very popular name in the Netherlands for girls, coming from Flora. Of course in English speaking countries it's a bit weird ;) But it's very common here! I also like Lotus and Sage

I quite like Trillium for a boy. I think it sounds quite cool. Like a more modern version of Tristan. You could also shorten it to Lium if you didnt think it wears well on a daily basis. My favourite name you mentioned though was not technically on your list - Kitty Rose. I think that is such a gorgeous name and I would definitely consider it.

I'm surprised to see Florian on this list, as it's a super common name here in Germany. I knew a couple Florians growing up. There was even a Florian in Harry Potter - the owner of the ice cream parlour in Diagon Alley, if I remember correctly: Florian Fortescue 😊❤

Lavandula is very pretty, I love Rosebay! Calyx is very cool for a boy. I prefer Floriana for a girl I think. Other floral names I like are Celandine and Calanthe :)

Top of our baby name girl list is Iris. Although a beautiful flower it has more of a personal meaning to us. In Greek Mythology, which my husband and I have great interest in, Iris was the Greek Goddess of the rainbow. And If we are blessed to have a girl as our first after our angel baby then she will be our much loved rainbow baby 🌈

Trillium makes me think of Trillian from Hitchhikers Guide. And Florian makes me think of Florian Fortescue in Harry Potter. Aubrieta and Lavandula are lovely - Lavandula makes me think of Calendula which I would definitely consider usable as a name. Calyx is very cool.

Oooh a Harry Potter name list that is a bit more off the beaten track would be awesome! Calendula is the name of the genus of flowers that includes Marigolds! My mum used to have Calendula Cream for when we cut ourselves because it's good for split skin. Canula I would definitely NOT use! That would be a bit odd to say the least!

I love the name Florian but I’m self conscious about it sounding too feminine mostly because it sounds so much like it’s meaning, flower... anyone I run it passed says the same. Thoughts?

Blanca silva yes, Blanca. I love vintage everything...music, decor, names, makeup...and this is so cool. My mom always loved the name Ana, but she also wanted to name me after my grandma. Ana Letícia then haha don't think is an amazing combination but I like the story behind it. And Blanca is such a pretty name. Am I wrong or is it latin ? Blanca is spanish for "white" ?

Letícia Ribeiro You are right! I'm mexican, so that's why my name is in spanish. I was named after my mom, who has the exact same name as me. She did't agree at first but she liked the meaning of the names together. Blanca means white in spanish (as you said) which is constantly related to peace, purity or calm. And Leticia means joy or happiness. So together they were "A joyful peace" she actually thinks I was a very joyful peace because I was a very calm child when I was very little and that was a relief to her as she had to literally run after my sister for how full of energy she was!

I am intrigued by baby names that are named after virtues. We all know Faith, Hope and Joy but there are definitely some more unusual ones out there. I was wondering if you would do a list of virtue names? I was reading the passenger list from the Mayflower last night (I love to read old passenger lists - they are such a great source of names) and there were a few that were rather unusual. Humility and Remember for baby girls (not sure I would choose them, but how great are they?) and one for a baby boy which I definitely wouldnt choose but certainly ranks as an unusual name - Wrestling. You would definitely have to be brave to call your child Wrestling.

Another great botanical name of an indigenous plant here in South Africa with beautiful white trumpet flowers is Mackaya bella - which could sound like Micaiah the prophet from the Bible- I love it.

Architecture inspired names might be fun!

I like Lavandula, but I think in the US it wouldn't be pronounced the way you say it. Maybe for a middle. I think Trillium is really cool for a boy, a lot like William, but cooler. My sister liked Calix/Calyx and Aubreieta! I like Florin or Florian. I follow an Australian mum who has a Florin!

My daughter is Laurel which means victorious. In the ancient Olympic games a crown of Laurel leaves was the prize to the victor. I was nearly 35 when I had her and was afraid I would never have a baby, so she is truly my victory!

My son eldest daughter is named Lis, like the Lis Flower in spanish.
