Nah. I see people ducking accountability all over the place. Always punting it to someone or something else. As I'm getting older Im noticing it's becoming the norm. It's the heart of victimhood. I actually feel kinda bad for Gen-Z. They were raised in schools that gave out participation trophies. Their social skills were honed by the internet where down-votes have been disabled, and where the algorithm steers like-minded individuals into support bubbles. They start to think their behavior is the norm... and then when they eventually wander out into the real world, it's baffling to them that actual people don't respond the same way their internet bubble "friends" do.

Speaking for myself only and from the perspective of a fourth generation enlisted military family. 1SGT Dad, Stay at home Mom (unless a part-time job was temporarily necessary), One older brother, One family car, Two family dogs, Comfortable home with rules and responsibilities. I knew by the time I hit my teens that if I wanted something, I had to earn getting it myself. E.G If I wanted to buy the newest album, jean jacket, movie ticket, jelly bracelets, etc then it was up to me to make a sign advertising my availability to babysit every weekend that month. By 15 I was working at Bonanza Steakhouse as a hostess (promoted to waitress the day I turned 16). My parents were proud of my work ethic because they taught me the basics; if you want something, anything, you have to work for it (emotionally and physically). By 16, I knew that I would have about five choices when I graduated high school; have a job that pays enough for me to live on my own, enroll in college (community or trade) with a realistic Major and Minor toward a career, enlist in the armed services (for career, experience or benefits), find a man with a steady job and similar values or buckle down on my studies with the goal toward a scholarship to a good school. By 19, I’d fallen in love with a Navy Man, who also happened to be my best friend and soul-mate. I chose to be Wife and Mom; not conditionally, not contractually, not selfishly, not delusionally… But Commitment-ally. My job at home was just as important to me as his job away was to him. Through self awareness, communication and compromise, we’ve overcome every obstacle or issue as the need arises. Celebrating our 34th anniversary this month, along with our two adult kids, their spouses and our two grandkids. We are retirement age now, a time when parents start reflecting on regrets about how they guided or misguided their children. My Dad says his biggest regret is not being able to have a substantial college fund for me so that I wouldn’t have to struggle with those five options starting out on my own. He felt that should have been his responsibility, to pay for any and all education needs and desires. I told him that he gave me something much more valuable by going with me to shop for my first car. My employment and bank account history qualified me for a $900.00 limit credit card with a low interest rate and a $27.00 monthly payment if maxed out. He took me to three dealerships explaining what I was looking for and what I could afford, the whole time teaching me everything about the models and maintenance on the ones I was choosing from. He made sure I didn’t get taken advantage of as a female as well as making sure that if I did drive off the lot with a lemon, I could fix it under his tutelage or with the owners manual. I ended up with a lime green Pinto and I made it my own (until it got replaced with a family sized sedan). I view the things he taught me as so much more valuable than money. He wasn’t the household ATM, he is my Father and I know he raised me Right! That’s what a man and a father does for his family. My parents educated me on The Real World, not the fantasy world as people want it to be in the short term. They did their best for us and I have nothing but love and respect for them. Apologies for the rambling but maybe there’s one person who needs to hear that the majority of parents who aren’t on social media have very similar stories to ours. Average working class family teaching their kids right from wrong and how to survive long enough to enjoy retirement.

I just had this thought: on many forms and applications, it asks if you have prior aliases/names, so now they will need to add, "Have you ever been a different gender?" This world is crazy.

While I agree with your idea a biological woman can have a c section or adopt and be a mother. The key part is biological.

With your wording, that's legit saying any woman who had to have a c section or adopted isn't a mom. And that step moms aren't moms.
