This is my favorite Slavoj talk. Actually, the last few minutes when it became more real talking about Curb, totally loved that. Ugh I need more of this.

That's the way of Slavoj... let him do his charade... occasionally his self-consciousness hits and he get overwhelmed by his own ugliness, but then is shakes it off and continues. Absolutely reprehensible, he should be banned from all public talks

I love Žižek, but I hoped this will be more than 3 hour setlist of his greatest hits. He says these exact things in most interviews. Great for uninitiated viewers, but man, give us something new!

@@valentinvontrier It's in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fnyVq7qKfLadmrg.htmlsi=Bu35rumP0HsibTVd Slavoj argues that artists produce better works under totalitarian regimes and gave as an example Tarkovsky, who made Stalker, Mirror, etc. in the Soviet regime, and then when he was exhiled to Europe and got freedom his films became "worse". I totally disagree with him on that one, The Sacrifice is probably my favourite Tarkovsky film.

Insanely fascinating ... and the pigeon randomly in the back ... is ... weirdly poetic? :P
Zizek is disassociate. It's not obvious in a "concrete situation" if people are offended. That's sheer self-absorbed stupidity. He's possibly partly misled for cultural reasons. But, I think its more the combination of his personal stupidity and his desire to make a (flatly false) point.
uploaded it so fast you forgot to grade it xD
At 1:12:00, how did the culture of transgression shift from left to right? The 1980s redefined the culture of cool (hip and square), which was never really leftist, in fact, with right-wing values - preppies, yuppies, followed by grunge, which is not very leftist. By the 2000s, with the left having become very sincerely anarchist and activist, etc, and in that regard moralistic to the utmost, rather than scientific in its approach, the logic of transgression had nowhere else to go. In any case it shouldn't be overestimated, as is often he case with boomers. Transgression is the law, as the anthropologists say.
Fun fact about Hollywood selecting villains: Guy Ritchie’s recent film Operation Fortune (besides being utterly terrible) was censored because it featured “Ukrainian gangsters”
@antoinepetrov
7 күн бұрын
It's sad that they think that censoring is the politically correct thing to do when Zelensky himself talks about the corruption of Ukrainian society and those gangsters. Americans never know what supporting someone in a war means.

Zizek's views on sex are false because he judges everything in total naivete about his own personality, which, in general terms, is similarly unbalanced as that of Lacan, Freud and Hegel. He simply finds authorities which fit his deformation exampeling his experience.
