I've always thought Cody makes for a better heel. Yeah he does well as a babyface but Roman nailed it on the head when he called Cody a politician. Cody at times has this air of fakeness, like he acts nice but only when it benefits him. He did up using a lot of people to get to the championship, that could absolutely play into a heel story

They are already teasing a heel turn. At Clash, Cody hit Styles with the steps when 1) Styles had already said I Quit and the match was over and 2) Styles was still handcuffed to the rope making him relatively defenseless. For now it's a gray area because fans can argue that Styles messed with Cody's mother so Cody was justified in taking revenge, but that sort of violent revenge against a defenseless opponent is heel behavior.

I have told people for far too long that heel Cody is the best Cody. Just go back and watch some of his early stuff after he left WWE. His persona as the cocky second-generation wrestler was so good, and the whole American Nightmare gimmick came from his heel work. Where Dusty was the dream, a hardworking man making something of himself, Cody was the nightmare, an entitled prick using whatever means necessary to get to the top. The feud with Kenny and Ibushi and how Cody was basically sabotaging long-term friendships for his own benefit was devious. The BTEs with heel Cody were some of the best as well. I want this Cody back, but he did say during his time in AEW that he never wanted to turn heel again for his daughter. Ugh. I think that is too arrogant. Face Cody doesn't feel good. He's the type of babyface that I think many wrestling fans want to punch in the face, because he doesn't seem genuine. However, if and when heel Cody shows up in WWE, I am sure the crowd will LOVE to hate him, a proper and healthy reaction compared to his babyface responses.

Honestly, I'm quite interested in that. His casual attire sure makes him look like one. I guess the Undisputed Championship should be that lineage kinda championship where it only goes to the top dog in the company, one that is the face of it on and offscreen. Which means it should not change hands frequently. And when it does, it's a big event, the way Roman elevated it and Cody both. I suppose Cody could do a few months or a year of being a face wrestler with that title, lose it to someone and take a few months off after which he could come back as a heel, win it back and elevate the next person who becomes champion.

Clips I’ve seen of Cody as a heel on the indies is a lot more entertaining than I’ve seen from him in years, so yeah I agree. Book the whole Codylander thing the internet is obsessed with lol. Have this Bloodline Civil War happen, have a bunch of casualties come of it. Then Cody tries to step up as the locker room leader, but kinda misses with his diagnosis of the problem though. Says they need to rid WWE of all the entire Bloodline.

I really have to strongly disagree. Cody is the best face since Austin. Even if he'd make a great heel you'd lose more than you gain, with nobody to take this spot in sight.

I get it but at the same time I get why he chose to do part time, he's still taking meds for his leukemia to keep it in check as well more than likely he wanted more time with his wife and kids so it kinda works out. If not for him have Leukemia, I don't think he would have chosen to be a part timer for awhile

Cody is better at chasing than he is as champ. He would be a much better arrogant heel champ by far. Once he went over Roman, his babyface run ended. Have him either in a run with a decent face to turn, or have a dual turn in the match itself. Cody is playing a face, but he is a natural heel. He could be a malfunctioning character, as in one week he comes out as dashing Cody, then stardust the next week.
