I love Undertaker's take on this. It wasn't Goldberg's fault but rather he was upset that he didn't realize the issues on hand. As a musician, I always pride myself on being able to improvise when someone makes a mistake. Recently I was working with a young guy and I thought we were going great, that I absolutely missed his error on one of our last songs, and we totally messed up. People blamed him....but I supported him. He made a mistake but we are a team and I messed up by not covering. As the group leader, I really should have picked up on it.

Vince wanted to bury the WCW guys, that's why the invasion was so bad. Goldberg, because of the guaranteed money that Nash is always crowing about, was able to stay home for two years and get paid after WCW, before deciding to return to wrestling in the WWE. They should have been smart enough to have Goldberg work with Taker before Goldberg left the WWE. There's a video where Cornette fantasy-books the WCW invasion, and it's a pretty good card that would have been good for everyone.

But then you had WCW guys who came in and had stellar careers like Jericho, Mysterio, Big Show, Eddie, Booker T. I just think the stories that could have been told and top quality matches, huge main events, and ppv buys that could have been if the top WCW guys came over during the invasion angle would have been like nothing ever seen or done again.

That is one Hell of a concussion when he can't remember anything from 2pm that day till the time he was in the hospital. I am really enjoying these post career Undertaker shoot interviews. It amazes me how he just seems to be such a laid back cool, NICE GUY! So completely different than the character we saw him play all those years, much like a Stan Hansen or Stone Cold Steve Austin. Undertaker is lucky he didn’t break his neck. Goldberg has always been a green wrestler with little or no training so if you have to lead a match Goldberg couldn’t do it and he would get frustrated make mistakes. Thats what happened in this match. Every long match Goldberg had was crap and he never led any match it was always the more experienced wrestler leading. WWE should have done what AEW did with Sting's last run. Put Undertaker in a tag team with a young guy who can "run around", take the bumps and Undertaker could still do his big spots. It would have extended Undertaker's career and it gets a young guy over. "2 birds, 1 stone."

Mike Chioda, the ref, didnt believe goldberg was concussed before the match, because goldberg, while waiting for the undertaker, ran the match back to Mike, to be on the same page, but as soon as Goldberg hit the ring post it spiraled badly Besides Mike also said it was a hideous working environment, with the heat and jet lag

All these comments about Goldberg being concussed before the match even started; Mike Chioda has refuted this, saying that Goldberg was lucid and was going through the spots with him during Taker's entrance. Of course, when he hit the ringpost he most definitely WAS concussed, no doubt about that!

That was Undertaker's last traditional 1 on 1 match. He technically had another with AJ (not the cinematic Boneyard one) but that was just one move and it was over. BTW, kudos for Undertaker accepting some of the blame. Most marks just blame Goldberg but both guys were at fault. Neither was in a position anymore to have that match with anybody let alone another 50 year old.

Even if Taker thought the match was the shits, I enjoyed it. It was like Batman vs. Superman meeting to duke it out. And there was no feud where they trade wins. This was the match. This was the match to determine who could beat who. And Undertaker, as legit as wrestling gets, legit won. There was a clear winner and we never have to do it again, unlike Cena/Rock twice in a lifetime WM match.

I am glad the Undertaker did not break his neck on that jackhammer. I feel the two wrestlers did not do a good job on planning out their match which would have helped Undertaker realize Goldberg was concussed mid way. May have had to end the match early like Sting did with Hardy even though I think that was what he did. Could have saved himself from taking that jackhammer. I believe Undertaker had a similar match with Batista who let him know he was not alright and had to end the match early.
