    Therapy helped me a little, and I tried the Power of Positive Thinking. Not until the third time I desperately tried medication did it finally kick in and allow me to see the positive. I knew I had to change my attitude but I couldn't until the Welbutrin kicked in. Did I say thank you? Thank you Damien, Harry and Gwen, you guys rock!

    As a wind sport noob I've found the steadier the wind can be around 17-22mph the more I've progressed. Learned to avoid "blips" of wind on the forecast and trying to go during those times when it would call for several hours of good conditions seems to help me. Adjusting expectations on questionable days is probably the best medicine to still get out there, because all those wobbles and falls seem to correct themselves over time. Off topic - these videos are really appreciated. The positive messages (that I had the chance to see you live in person as well) are well received. Keep up the good work and see you on the water.

    All of the ones mentioned for beginners, but for popular places, if there’s no one kiting, there’s usually a reason. So especially if you are a beginner, ask others first why no one if out. And if there are people out, watch what they are flying, and how the kites are powered. You can tell a lot about the wind quality by watching the kiters already out. Have fun!

    We have a ton of videos! You can 100% try it on your own. A wind gauge can help to see if you have winds around 17MPH. This may help! kzread.info/dash/bejne/qqeBrLyTfa3JppM.html

    You said I could do it so I have stuck with it for weeks and finally got up on foil. Pretty cool! Lime skateboarding on a cloud. Hope I figure it out cause it looks more fun than just surfing.

    Offshore winds are great for learning wingsurfing because the water is flat ... but you better know how to sail, self rescue, and not have a wing failure or injury/cramp. Just stay close enough to paddle home with the wing between your feet and have a guardian angel on the beach.

    Thanks so much for this information. Love your channel. Just a question, would you suggest buying different wind wings for different wind knots, or would you start with different size wings on your foil first?? decisions decisions ;)

    Not sure I am understanding the question?

  • @ajachild

    @ajachild

    Ha yes ok. Basically should I invest in more variable size wind wings (eg. 4m, 5m etc), or a bigger assortment of wingfoil sizes for my board (2100cm, 1100cm etc)? In order to go out in more conditions! I really hope that makes sense🙏🙏🙏

  • @DamienLeroyYouTube

    @DamienLeroyYouTube

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@ajachild Yes that makes sense! Your best bet is to start with one Foil wing, one around 1900 or 2100 for ease for the learning stages slower, easy to get up. Then you can have one or two hand held wings and can do it in high winds as well with the big foil for sure, you just use a smaller hand help wing. Smaller foils come with time and skill not needed in the beginning when learning. Harry uses one foil size for all wind conditions. He just changes his hand help wing sizes... Hope that helps.

    Great video. I got a question for beginner for wind vs gust. Super beginner want start safe. Let's say I usually have +10 gusts compared to wind regularly. I have 4,5,6m wings in my possession and a large board, I weight 180-190lbs Which wing should I use in which ranges? Gracias! Also great advise about depression and personal problems. :). Cheers!

    Tricky question, but when learning usually more power is better as you are not as efficient with the wing or foil! I would use that 6m most of the time learning and document the wind on each day you use it to know was that too much for the 6m? You will learn what is best for you and your size in the winds by trial and error! Gusty conditions make everything hard and not enough power makes it hard. Reason why this sport is so hard.
