Understanding running compression waveforms
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Viewing the pressure waveforms from inside the cylinder of a running engine can provide a great
deal of diagnostic information. Understanding these waveforms will help you spot valve issues, blocked catalytic converters and restricted air intakes.
The equipment used is a PicoScope automotive oscilloscope and a WPS500 pressure sensor.

Great, concise video showing the fundamentals of in cylinder pressure diagnosis. 6 yrs old and as useful in 2018 as it was in 2012
great study, now demonstrate running compression sync to ignition timing to confirm ecm timing advance.
Picoautomotive, great video!!!!
Great video thank you!
What was the point of looking at the MAF while determining max bar output of the cylinder at WOT?
VERY NICE.......
Well done video. Like the graphic on valve opening and closing. Do you have it as a downloadable graphic? Would like to show it to some of my helpers.
where can i get that valve overlay tool for my pico ???
Hello, is there a way I can get a copy of the samples for this test? Thank you so much.
Where can I find more information about this? Also would like to download that waveform demo you posted.

I HOPE TO SEE A CATALIZER TESTING WITH A PICOSCOPE
sorry- I commented before I watched video!!!!
TO DAY IT IS NOT EASY TO CHECK A TWC CATALIZER
So this is telling me that combustion creates no pressure? That's dumb AF. I just missed this on an ASE test question.

There is no combustion happening the transducer tool goes in the spark plug hole
Jesus Christ. That was a terrible video. Ran through it way too fast. Hard to understand.
