What was the point of looking at the MAF while determining max bar output of the cylinder at WOT?

So this is telling me that combustion creates no pressure? That's dumb AF. I just missed this on an ASE test question.

how does the pico software/hardware determine what a good battery spec vs all the different types, sizes, and conditions/state batteries on the markets today? Is there an article I can read about the technical background of pico software-hardware under this circumstance of this pre battery test event(s), before the relative compression test(s).

But you program suggest to connect the wire to the alternator, and use the battery only of it's close to the alternator. I could not understand how"close" is, as for me- connecting to the battery caused an error message (turning on heavy battery consumers did not helped), and I don't have an easy access to my alternator terminals. BTW, what is the difference between this test and the relative compression test in terms of the received data? Why to do both is the Cylinder data seems to give the same data live?

I'm presuming this is a multiplexed system. but what a complicated and impenetrable way of presenting it. I lost interest almost immediately. technology for the sake of it.. what IS the high frequency of the system ?. more RF radiation to kill people. what with WIFI and Bluetooth in cars at 2.4 GHZ (microwave ) in a metal box and what are you not supposed to put in a microwave? metal..! bouncing around in your metal car.. brings a whole new meaning the the term cooking model. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I like doing a relative compression test using the amp clamp around battery positive or negative, you get a much better indication and along with a sync probe on cyl number one especially for 6 and 8 cyl engines

Why are you saying that using a clamp around B+ or Ground is a better method? Did you ever try both methods in the same vehicle?? Just wandering.

At what point does it call the ripple voltage too high? I find usually that a reading over 200mV is almost always a bad diode discharging the battery.

Is it just the test within pico diagnostic software that requires only voltage probes. Scanner dancers demo of Picoscope shows a current clamp being used. Is that just because he is using the pico automotive 6 software, and does it matter which method we use?

I'm a gearhead, old and relatively modern vehicles, mechanical and electrical are not a problem for me. Give me a diagram and i'll assemble a wire harness for a fuel injected engine without much grief.. But when it comes to this can-bus shit, I can't even begin to comprehend what it is, what its for, what it does, or how there could even be anything wrong with it. I just plain don't get it.

This is interesting, even to me, and I am just learning of the existence of CANbus technology today. But, you need to fill the video with the screen of your scope, and seriously increase the quality of the video, before this would be a useful video, in my opinion.

The one fundamental problem with any bus based network is traffic. That is to say, the bus works well with small amounts of traffic, but as traffic levels increase, the performance of the network drops off rather dramatically. What's needed here is a can 'switch', which would intelligently direct the flow of traffic.

They already exist but are used in Industry. They basically segment controllers which can also have separate bus branches. I was schooled on this by Kongsberg Maritime.
