Sensational vid Augie , you been looking through my collection ? I've got nearly everything you showed . I hopped off the bus with Exciter , The Rods and Virgin Steele too . Dan Beehler is a freak ... lead vocals and pounding on the skins like a heavy metal maniac ..... lol ..... I would give one of my three testicles away to have seen any of those bands live 🥴

Exciter played about 4 hours from me last night, but I just couldn't go. I had been trying to plan to for a couple months since the date was mentioned. I really wanted to see them with Dan back on vocals. Yeah, I hate school rules is an embarrassment on the Unveiling album, not sure what they were thinking. Exciter's 92 album Kill After Kill was reissued on vinyl last year. It was the return of John Ricci and Dan Beehler, so more of a return to form, noisy and thrashing. I bought all of The Rods reissues on High Rollers not too long ago. Back in the day, anything released on Shrapnel records was worth buying, without even hearing it. I think I have pretty much everything you have shown, as this stuff was the bomb back in the day. Talking about forgetting whats in the collection, at one time I had a separate section for one off often forgotten type bands just like that. I have since merged them all back in, but it might be a good idea to return to, to help be able to find these little bands quicker.

Lol. Dude. I hate when I can’t find something!!! I’m in the beginning process of moving into a bigger place … once I’m in the new place I’ll get some record storage… I haven’t heard the 92 Exciter stuff.. but I’ll check it out !! Yeah all this stuff back on the day was great between Shrapnel & Megaforce those labels had great bands. There was no second guessing you knew they were heavy ….

@@augie3281 so I'm interested to know. What got this whole train rolling when you were a younger man? What inspired your love for this music? I discovered Kiss Aiive II in grade school. Then it was Zeppelin, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, Sabbath, Def Leppard and then Back in Black, still the greatest album in the world.

@@augie3281 Hell yes. Simmons with the blood coming out of his mouth! Who could resist that? Our store at the mall was Listening Booth. I got that double vinyl. Then I discovered the 2 record and tapes clubs, like 12 albums for a penny! Heaven! We also has a station called FM 104 that played album rock out of Harrisburg, PA. They would play an entire album at midnight. Blank tape ready at all times!

One of my favourite underated bands is Paul Di'anno's Battlezone. Everyone knows about Paul's days in Maiden, but hardly anyone talks about what he did afterward. I have everything he did after leaving Maiden. Great video. I like Exciter's "Violence and Force". Keep 'em coming.

Zebra was another one of those local bands I’ve seen a few times in local clubs in my area.. they’re from Long Island.. the keyboard player last time I saw him , played in a zeppelin cover band with one of my buddies … Randy was always a cool , nice guy… the first album had the big hits , then they slowly started declining …

Oh, definitely Aug!…You’re on point-The 80’s were a very trendy time for sure…I mean, the musical palette available to the average fan was wide and deep, what with synth, new wave, pop, metal, rock, and punk…People simply moved on to something new and different if they got bored, and great bands like Zebra simply got swallowed up…..Augie’s Vinyl Room Matters-That’s What’s Up!!

Yeah man those Exciter albums are killer love that tune BORN TO DIE. There are some killer Canadian bands not sure if you’ve heard of Brighton Rock probably my favorite Canadian metal band. Then you got RAZOR, but the singer is kind of a douche bag complaining why they didn’t make it big because they are not hair metal. Honeymoon Suite a bit on the softer side but great nonetheless. Harem Scarem their 1st two albums were killer. You can go down the rabbit hole with this stuff.
