    Me too. I don't really even pick up my 5" quads as much anymore because these are small, quiet, and can be flown basically anywhere. I can pop down to the local park and burn a few packs with ones like this and not scare the bejesus out of people. 😅 Thanks !

    I was able to Install the yellow strap in the bottom plate, there is groves cut out for the strap. If you relocate the xt30 out of the back you can easily run the battery on the bottom with a piece of the black foam from the packaging. 👍

    Also sweet video mate this is what got me sold on this drone, can confirm its durable, stock antenna is crap, replaced with a lumineer 5.8ghz ufl antenna. Battery strap is pants too, order better ones as they wear out after about 20 odd flights with crashes in between. Peace ✌

    @@fpv_freestylersuk3345 I have actually been considering making a video on why NOT to buy the TinyHawk Freestyle II and get something like this instead. I have both and although the tinyhawk Freestyle 2 flies great, it’s outdated and harder to work on compared to this quad. Emax tinyhawk is much more well known, and has better marketing, so people miss this little DarwinFPV quad. They really need to update the tinyhawk 2…

    @@JohnCuppi I nearly beat a tinyhawk to death with a hammer the other day, after soldering an elrs receiver onto it, i got it all soldered up good but it turned out my friend ordered a receiver that cant pull enough power from the board to power it on fully solidbred light lol 🤨 was a tad frustrated as it took me ages i have big hands and bad eyesight 🤣. It really is outdated the only real good thing about it the thf2 is the RTF bundle its not overly expensive, if DarwinFPV decided to compete and release a similar kit they could potentially steal that 2.5" spotlight that EMAX has been holding onto for some time. Personally I want to see DarwinFPV get bigger. I'll be buying myself a babyape pro soon enough to add to my growing collection, and then upgrading it lol. You know how it is 🤣

    Good to hear. The only thing I’m most concerned about actually breaking on it is possibly a motor, those seem to be a little on the cheap-o end there. I worry about busting one of the shafts, but this whole build is so cheap I would just replace the motors anyway if something happened.

    Yeah! On 4K mode the runcam looks really Good! And yes this vtx not really “Looks” like other 400mw I saw on other vids. Any way to upgrade it? Any suggestion for a better antenna? Maybe it’s a good idea to purchase it now while I’m waiting for my batts to arrive. Would Appreciate a nice quality antenna to buy :)) thanks for the vid mate ! ✌🏻✌🏻

  • @JohnCuppi

    @JohnCuppi

    2 жыл бұрын

    What I would do maybe before replacing the vtx is try getting a longer dipole antenna and insert one of the little antenna tubes it comes with. Get it a little higher up than where it sits and see if that helps. I think I mentioned the battery lead mess in the back is definitely blocking some of it as it sits now. Next, I would look at replacing it with maybe a small lolipop type antenna as well if that didn’t improve anything. And yes! you can upgrade the vtx easily to a different one. Any vtx you like. If you’re looking for a recommendation for a replacement, you could try a TBS Unify Pro32 Nano which can do up to 500mw. I used that to replace the vtx in my Emax TinyHawk 2 and the video was so clean. It weighs only 1 gram as well which is just amazing! But you would also probably be just fine with an Eachine Nano vtx too, which is half the cost. Personally… I would like to convert this quad to HDzero so I’m probably going to go that path. Thanks for hanging in, and checking out my review! Really appreciate the engagement and discussion.

    @@orenrez655 4K is how everyone should watch FPV reviews and videos if possible, even though it’s upscaled. This is the closest way to see how it should look, because the 4K video encode by KZread gives a LOT of big rate and data which is so important to have with the high speed movement we do in these videos. Without that, you lose so much detail with 1080. I always take the time to upload any video I make for this reason in 4K, even if the source was not 4K.

  • @orenrez655

    @@JohnCuppi I think for a starter I wouldn’t go straight to change the vtx itself as all this small tight soldering is a bit scary , like you said I need a recommendation for a decent antenna(not sure which one to look at or even which connector) but yeah, it seems to enjoy this 600mw power the antenna needs to be changed to avoid all the interference around it . About HDzero, if you have a digital goggles I can’t wait to see the outcome!

    Nice I want to get one I won't stabilize most likely

  • @JohnCuppi

    @JohnCuppi

    2 жыл бұрын

    I really wanted this camera to do stabilization with. In fact... I didn't want to buy it until runcam fixed the gyro data problems. They did, and so I purchased it. But gyroflow has been difficult for me to use; it's a complicated application get good results out of. So, I am only going to use this camera on quads where every bit of weight counts. On this DarwinFPV tinyAPE, it saves 16 grams of weight vs. an insta360go2 which is pretty significant. The flight feel is still pretty damn good with the thumb on, and the 300mah battery I picked out. However, the tinyAPE *could* still handle the insta360go2, though, it'd just be less nimble.

    Could the vtx issues be improved by adding another antenna? The small dipole next to the battery might be an issue that reduces range.

  • @JohnCuppi

    @JohnCuppi

    Yes, I think this is a great point and I muttered a bit about that during one of these flights. Just a longer length dipole that gets it higher up would help!
