Darwin has done everything right, its a great drone this one to, my ape is flying very well after much use.

Hi Lee Great video and review of the Tini ape. I happen to really like this one. I just don't have ELRS yet. But I am looking at it. I just love micros, I happen to have 11 3in and smaller quads. I like how this has a TBS UNIFY, and I think it would be a great weekend quad for the parks and backyard. Thanks again for the video and information

Wow, I built something similar and got half that for flight time. DarwinFPV for the win again! (Using exactly the same batteries)

I love mine. I had a problem with breaking motor shafts. After the 3rd motor replacement I bought 4 Betafpv 1103 8000kv motors on it.

It's a zippy little beast!

My Tiny Ape arrived already set up with betaflight 4.4 out of the box, bound it easily to V3 elrs. Problem is it flies erratic even in angle mode, props are sucure, any thoughts on why? Cheers

These DarwinFPV TinyApes fly GREAT. One or two minor crashes and you will loose a motor even without screwing in the props. I now have 1 dead motor on each of the 4 TinyApes I had purchased. This would be a winning product if they did some thing about these motors. The TinyHawk boards aren't the best but the motors were strong. Too bad the tinyHawk motors don't have the same mounting pattern. Time to have discussions on who makes the best most durable 1103 or if an 1104 motor would be a better upgrade. These are the models you want to fly through swing sets etc, you don't want to replace motors every time you even touch something. These do seem to fly fine even with the 525 and the 660 RDQ batteries I use on them. All mine came with ELRS 2.0

Have you found a good replacement motor? Should I stock up on the stock motors? I'm waiting on my tiny to be delivered. I'm looking at the betaflight 1103 8000kv 3s compatible motor.

Can i replace the video antenna with a ufl connector style antenna? I want to make it longer due to its small size

You should be able to. You can see the ufl connector at 10:27. No sticky stuff over it either.. Happy flying!

Hi there - new subscriber here. I know this is unrelated, but I just wanted to ask a very general question. For fixed wing, what would your go-to FC be for a fairly clued-up beginner with about 70 quid? Would you still recommend arduplane? Absolutely loving the content! Thanks

For OSD,autolaunch and reliably GPS RTH with basic mission ability, INAV is the default install. Check out my INAV for beginners series. Matek WINGS flight controllers are my go to as well.. happy flying!

i love 2 1/2 inch as my tuning skills are bad i sweep props 2516 i did try and its really low pitch, maybe you should ttry a higher pitch lie 2530 or 2540

Any possibility of updating the FC to ELRS 3.0?

Best place to check that out is on the DarwinFPV site. "The factory AIO firmware only supports ELRS_V2.0, and can be used with ELRS_V2.0 version TX. The firmware file name of ELRS-V2.0 is BETAFPVF4SX1280" is still on there today so maybe in the future?

Updating to beta flight 4.4 will update the elrs to 3.0

ts almost the same frame as the thawk freestyle different motors. tinyhawk freestyle is my most flown quad, t goes eerywhere wth me. as can be flown almost anywhere even n small spaces wth some practice
