This Tiny Ape is AWESOME! I was TRYING to buy one a few months ago but they were not available when i was looking to buy. I ended up with a Flywoo Firefly - a great choice but i would actually go with the Tiny Ape if i had to do it again. And for some reason i like the asthetics of the drone, it is not a big deal but i think that adds some cool elements to this hobby. These folks deserve support for this kind of price and quality. Good video, Jon. I ended up squeezing the runcam thumb on there with a 380mah 2s lihv battery, not ideal but still very doable! A back yard toss-arounder! I liked this quad honestly and I'm glad there's still something cheap out there. These kind of things used to be plentiful. You are also right on about Emax who first released the tinyhawk freestyle back in 2019, but they have not updated the product since tinyhawk freestyle 2; almost 2 years ago now. Not a front-runner anymore for bargain products, that's for sure.

So this is like an updated emax tinyhawk 2 freestyle

I love this quad it's my go too an I have the flywoo explorer an tinyhawk freestyle but the tinyape is so small an quiet not to mention the vtx on there and elrs I fly worry free with the tinyape

2:28 is a great recommendation for any pre-build drone.

that would be pretty nice, i got the new 1s version of the HDzero vtx on the way, gotta figure out what to slap it in, maybe one of these?

@@JonE5FPV honestly that would be a cool mix since 1) 200mw vtx makes sense in a park flyer of this size with hdzero. Ofcourse the easiest thing would be to swap it into a mobula7 with elrs aio but this thing looks like a sweet hdzero build for sure! Min 1s is also on the way and I'm also thinking what I should go with build wise

I have this model on the way, also have a new antenna to fit onto the vtx as the littly stubby sucks and lots of folks say the camera and battery can block the signal.

Yes to the Tiny Ape, no to only BG selling them 😐

I got the tinyape directly from darwin which I suggest over banggood. They where prompt and a little cheaper. I really enjoyed flying the tinyape after changing the antenna out. (The one that is on it is way to short, doesn't even go over the battery.) I only got three packs out of it before I broke a motor shaft, in just an average crash.(I've heard this same thing from other reviews)then when I go to change the motor I find out that the darwin motors use smaller screws so not just any 1103 will work easily. So I'm not a big fan of the motors. Every other motor I've had, the motor shaft bends not breaks. I ran the thumb on it, I had to toilet tank the battery. The thumb got surprisingly good video for 50 bucks. I suggest using the little double sided sticky pad they give you to soft mount it. The tinyape is a good price and flys good but it needs a lot of upgrades. I think the betafpv 1103's may be a good replacement they also have the small screws. I have those on a tadpole build. I haven't really crashed them much yet. There really fast though.

The TinyHawk 2 Freestyle is a better build once you replace nylon the standoffs with metal. This Tiny Ape's tune is not as good. Plus, its ELRS keeps cutting out randomly making the aircraft fall from the sky. Had to remake the battery holder. That was not well thought out. Wouldn't mind if it was a better build in the first place and the RX was good. And, yes, the whole EMAX analog line could use a better VTX. Been saying that for years.

Great review and flight! The frame looks similar to an AOS. Darwin is really busting a move in the industry.

Yeah, Emax has been kind of quiet lately. I was a big fan back in the day. The Hawk 5 was my first race quad and I still have two of them and they still fly great, although I've moved on to different things. But as you mentioned, the VTXs are crap and mine both died quickly. I also got the original tinyhawk and the vtx on it was crap to begin with and also died fairly quickly. Not sure why they pair such horrible VTXs with otherwise nice quads. That aside, Emax does put out some pretty nice quads when they're in the mood though.

can you use the hdzero whoop vtx and nano camera

the vtx it ships with is somewhat large, so im thinking HRzero should fit pretty well in there.

I have an experience with darwinfpv. They are a scam!! They sent me a dead fc and would not respond to any of their means of communication. They give KZreadrs commission which is terrible because their product is bad and they have multiple channels pushing it. Heed my warning do not buy any of their junk!

Not as good as the TH2FS either once you replace the nylon standoffs with metal ones.

don't get it from there website they are bad with the shipping.
