As a man who plays Lazav Multifarious as a commander it was incredibly cool seeing him played in Legacy! Dreadnaught has won me a few games in the past. I've never built a legacy deck, but the Timmy side of me has always just wanted to play a big creature kind of build like a GB depths variant; every time I see you play any Phyrexian Dreadnaught deck it too acts as the impetus that makes me want to put something like it together, not much warms the heart more than seeing a 1 mana 12/12 with trample get over the finish line using the sweet synergies this deck has. Good shit.

Felt like the Lazav + Uro was the main dynamic creating power here. Really hard for a fair deck to fight that and the stifles are actually super strong vs the unfair decks since most unfair decks rely on storm or oracle for their wins. Stifle also was super clutch ALOT of the time even vs the fair decks. Seemed like you had to get pretty lucky vs the delver player on the counter balance to win this but sometimes that's just how it worked. Him not hitting a 1 CMC for like 4 turns in a row is actually surreal.

Stifle is the kind of card that's great as long as your deck has a use for it with no opponent. If you run it to destroy fetches or something you're doing it wrong. Had first hand experience in standard with tale's end on my uro sacrifice or lotus field trigger. It would hit random spells or triggers from opponents that would wreck them.

Shredder is a cool option. Goyf just being 5 or 6 power almost all the time in this deck is a one-card side step that dodges Pyroblasts where Shredder leans more on synergy. It's a fun deck building puzzle.

it's also not nothing that shredder has flying and can dive in front of murktide or marit lage, since dreadnought and uro can set up a lethal backswing. Plus shredder+cantrip can eat delvers and get above lightning bolt. but i do see the point about pyroblast splash damage and having a early non-blue clock piece to keep an opponent on the backfoot while you setup the dreadnought. Maybe minus one each of goyf and dress down for two shredders? DD seemed like the least useful of the combo pieces this league compared to lazav/stifle/scroll and sat dead in hand a lot. So maybe it's worth reducing the collisions on both ends, and leaning on the cantrip shell and cheap connive/surveil to find the DD when it's relevant? i love this deck and i hope you pilot it again!

I like the snuff out, but considering other options how about rapid hybridization or pongify? I realise giving opponent a 3/3 isn't the best but it's easier to deal with than a murktide and it's a 1 mana instant so it's pretty efficient and this deck has a decent amount of big booties on the ground. I thought of heartless act but of course murktide gets counters so that's a no go. Snuff out is probably better anyway but I have been impressed with pongify whenever I've used it in the past.

He's addressed this before. It's unfortunately better for engagement and algorithm to use titles with undefeated, 5-0, etc. A fair number of people who consume Magic content are only interested in watching wins. It's the same reason the intro music changed. It's about growing the channel and hooking new viewers.

Is it just me or is plague engineer excessively abusive of tribal/creature decks? Ofc I’m no legacy expert so I’m legit asking do creature/tribal decks really need the help losing? Aren’t they already weak to combo is it really necessary in the format? Or is it just seen as a sideboard tool for generic midrange ?

If anything Plague Engineer is a backstop against combo. A deck full of 1 mana 1/1s that all share a creature type is probably up to no good. Nobody builds a casual theme deck that way. Legacy Elves/Goblins/etc are combo decks.

@@BoshNRoll that makes sense. I guess I was thinking of old pure value controlling goblins. Thanks

Dress Down is easily the best care in Dressnought lists imo. The only reason to not play 4 Dress down is if we are playing Urza’s Saga. In lists with Saga, torpor orb and lazav are both better than scroll of fate.

I’m fairly confident that dress down and tarmogoyf works in tarmogoyf’s favor. I believe the power and toughness get set before it loses abilities

Because new clicks grow the channel and UNDEFEATED generates clicks. There’s a longer post in the community tab if you want to read it.

So, just one take: I wouldn’t put “undefeated” in the title, because it spoils the results of the league.

Content creators need to stop putting in their titles, “Undefeated.” It totally spoils the video and I end up not watching the whole video. Andrea Mengucci also does this and it’s annoying.

He’s actually noted that he understands some people don’t appreciate it but overall the videos that have undefeated in the title just perform better from a metrics standpoint, at the end of the day this is something they do for money and how it performs from that perspective is gonna be valued more than random opinions.
