UNCLOGGING CULVERTS IN THE WOODS! 04/2024

FAQs/Why would they do that?! Answers
We are so glad you are here! Welcome to our channel!
1. We are in Oklahoma near the Arkansas border.
2. We do this on a volunteer basis.
3. Kim aka Mom is retired. Jennifer owns her own business as a massage therapist.
4. We film multiple locations in one day since we can’t go out all the time given Jen’s full time job. You may not see all the locations we filmed that day in one video.
5. You may see other people in our videos at times including Granny aka Sue (mom’s mom), Jeff (Kim’s husband and Jennifer’s dad), or Jessica (Jennifer’s little sister) and Lucy (our beautiful, amazing, wonderful dog).
6. Many wonder why we put stuff down culverts. A few reasons: it provides help for wildlife, we like to and it would have gone downstream anyway. If it blocks another culvert then we will take care of that too but most of the locations we visit are in incredibly rural areas where there won’t be another culvert for miles.
7. We care about wildlife and never want to cause harm to them. The only reason we will clear a beaver damn is if it is threatening land or roads that can not be accessed any other way. It may not be the road directly within sight but a farm road close by.
8. We appreciate advice in the comments. We understand that we will receive constructive criticism in the comments. What we won’t allow is the calling of names, derogatory terms, or just plain calling us stupid or idiots. We are all adults here and the internet is already a largely negative place as it is, let’s not add to it. We are people doing our best to help our neighborhood and planet by picking up trash and clearing culverts. Why do we deserve hate for that?
9. You may not agree with or like the way we did something but that doesn’t mean we did it wrong. There is a right/wrong way to dismantle a bomb. Clearing culverts is up for interpretation to the one doing the work.
10. We hope that you enjoy our videos and will keep coming back for more! Any other questions you have feel free to ask in the comments.

You guys ever think of carrying a pair of hand pruners or this long handled pruners to get rid of some of the branches? Might be easier than the saw and would work underwater

There is a bigger trimmer that might help with some of those branches. It’s a little bit bigger than the one you have. Or carry a hand saw they have the foldable ones used for camping.

19:37 This would be a perfect job for an actual hoe. It chops through vines in a single swing, and scoops mud/gravel a lot better than rake tines.

Lever - Wikipedia Lever - Wikipedia Lever - Wikipedia View all A lever amplifies an input force to provide a greater output force, which is said to provide leverage, which is mechanical advantage gained in the system, equal to the ratio of the output force to the input force. Girls, would you both from now on be careful about snakes again? Please? Give those leafy piles first a nock with a rake before you enter your hands.. so you can see if something moves or slithering away.. Jen, that color of those handcloves, that is a color which suits you! Very pretty color, well, imho 😎 Love the way you both wear your hair in the first pair of videos! And can't believe how gloomy the weather is? Like its more 'fall color like' but indeed, the branches are coming into leafs. When is the weather normally nicer? Edit, I didn't know that in your state one can also find Chaga, because I saw some sticking at the tree on the right side behind Jennifer 😀 When dried really well, it is a powerfull anti inflammation tee and more and they used it to transport fire long distance with them, long ago. Edit 2, Big time LOL!! You both mentioned it! 😂 Well, maybe it will stop me finally from first wanting to reply before watching a video totally to the end, still lol! 😅😂 Edit 3 .... 😂 did it again.. I'm pathetic! 😂 but I needed to say this too, I love the old buildings you come across so now and again! I mean, look at that log cabin.. if that isn't traditional and real labor plus I figured somewhere close-by needed to be water cause of the state the bottom few logs are in, that area sometimes is pretty wet.. Well, I'm done and hopefully learned my lesson finally.. we'll see 👀 😏 😂

OK don’t release beaver dams in winter because I don’t want the beavers dying on your channel so that’s why I don’t release beaver dams in the winter beavers. Need a lot of water in the winter.
