About my work - I remove beaver dams when I receive an order from a state organization.
I do not choose which dam to remove. It is decided by officials at the request of nearby residents. Each dam is assessed in advance if it can and if should be dismantled.
Removing the dam is not a threat to beavers. I do not remove their houses - lodges.
Dams are removed only in places where beavers cause damage, for example by flooding nearby fields, flooding the basements of nearby houses, or when the stream on which beavers built their dam is degraded.
Even though beavers are very invasive animals, they are under strict protection in our country.
I personally like all animals, so beavers are fine too.

There lots of evidence of beaver damns destroying roadways and crops. What’s your actual argument?
As a kid, we played in the water too, but with really small toys. Never gets old. Adding little rock check dams every 100m or so would create little pockets to help groundwater infiltration.
Thought beaver dams good for environment
Really have to be in awe of the beaver how efficient there dams are and how well they build them.even although there dams have consequences to pay both up stream and down.

@photo1100-The dam is not the house. The ‘lodge’(actual name for beaver ‘house’) is usually in the deepest part of the pond created by the dam.

Why do the beaver dams have to be removed at all. Would they not be helping the environment regenerate ..Now all that water is going to be wasted. Beavers need deep water.

Largest beaver damn I have ever seen is on a private farm southeast of Petersburg Virginia. Probably 150 feet long and 20 feet high. No telling how many beavers gave their lives in its construction.
IN A BEAVER COLONY 2 MILES DOWN STREAM- BEAVER LEADER- “WOW EVERYONE, GOD IS TRULY HELPING US EXPAND OUR DAM”!! AS I SPEAK, IT IS COMING TO US NOW!! HALLELUJAH!!”

Nice video. Thanks for the time when the excavator would start but I actually enjoyed hearing the thunder storm and the sound of running water. It gave me a mental break since I'm here in a blizzard, we just got two feet of snow and the temperature is way below freezing

Beavers are some of the coolest animals on the planet. Such diligent litte monsters. Super cute too. Seen one in an animal hospital and the bet brought some branches and on the way the little guy goes. 😆 started stacking them in the doorway .... It was so 😎

I have beavers in my pond a few nights ago. I was down there and had a flashlight pinned to the middle of my chest. I was messing with the dam for a little while they looked down and there was a beaver about 3 feet from me. The light was confusing it it just couldn’t see me, it was really cool to be that close to one it would stand up on its back legs and sniff the air trying to figure out what I was. I stood there for about an hour with that beaver and three other small ones coming up and doing the same thing.
Looked like an impossible mission until the excavator entered the scene. Very effective!
