A Beaver Dam Of Incredible Size - Beaver Dam Removal With Excavator No.139
A Beaver Dam Of Incredible Size - Beaver Dam Removal With Excavator No.139
📝Basic information:
About my work - I remove beaver dams when I receive an order from a state organization.
I do not choose which dam to remove. It is decided by officials at the request of nearby residents. Each dam is assessed in advance if it can and if should be dismantled.
Removing the dam is not a threat to beavers. I do not remove their houses - lodges.
Dams are removed only in places where beavers cause damage, for example by flooding nearby fields, flooding the basements of nearby houses, or when the stream on which beavers built their dam is degraded.
Even though beavers are very invasive animals, they are under strict protection in our country.
I personally like all animals, so beavers are fine too.

Don't worry, they will rebuild a new one in some time 😉 And this dam was really too big and dangerous at the same time. It's scary to think what would happen if this dam burst due to old age.
I could watch this for hours 👍🏻! Best wishes from Kassel, Germany 🖐🏻!
I'm always impressed by how well you both work together. I can see how much mutual respect and awareness you both have for each other. You know when to get out of the way when the excavator is working and the operator knows when he has the safe opening to do his part. Great teamwork, be safe and Happy Holidays.

There is actually a lot of truth in what you write - now I don't even pay attention to it, but in fact, over the course of several years of working together, we have learned how to work together, even without unnecessary talking ;) Stay healthy and I wish you all the best this upcoming Christmas 👋💝

@@msTECH86 I did notice though that when the operator started dumping the buckets towards the guy watching he had to move back a bit, and then sure enough he would move in again as soon as the operator swung back. If I was running the excavator, I would have extended the boom out all the way and swung it slowly towards him and tell him, stay outside of that swing. He could have very easily moved 5 to 10 feet or so downstream and been out of the swing and seen just as well. I worked my whole life in commercial construction and safety became more of a concern as time went on. Funny how easy that is to see watching the video verses being in the middle of it when it's happening. Sorry if I'm being critical, but I was the guy who had to deal with OSHA whenever they came calling.

Yes, the dam was huge 🤯😉 As for the cough, we can't cure it either. About 3 weeks ago I had antibiotic therapy and it was quite good, but for a few days I had a terrible cough again - in addition, Kasia is also sick and Maksymilian this morning also has a bad cough since the morning - so we have another visit to the doctor - just to be sure, to listen to us to see if our lungs are clear. I have a feeling that these frequent illnesses are related to Maksymilian's going to kindergarten 😋 Our little germ 🦠😁 Take care and I wish you and us a speedy recovery 💝💝

Wow. That’s one huge beaver dam
My hometown had a series of beaver dams about 300 yards wide and four to eight feet tall. Two streams came together in an area of 40 year old maples. It was glorious.
Nice cleanup and drain. Great job

We removed the dam very slowly so as not to flood anything below. Only once did we flood the garden of a resident below the beaver dam - but that was about three years ago, when I wasn't recording videos on KZread yet 😉
Was up in Ontario Canada a few years back walleye fishing, off the main lake there was a narrow channel through some rock walls, once we entered the lake, we could see something off in the distance, as we got closer we realized it was a huge beaver dam, we got out of the boat and walked up to the top of it and saw that behind the dam was roughly 250-300 acre lake behind it, with a massive beaver hut in the middle. that dam we estimated was 8-8.5 feet tall, the dam had been built between 2 hills, as we were fishing we could see numerous spots where water was seeping through the hills,
If left on the bank would the beavers just start over and use the debris to rebuild their dam?

In your country, is it legal for landowners to trap beavers on their property, or to authorize a licensed trapper to do so? Regards from central Ontario, Canada.
What compels Beavers to do this?, lol. Such facinating animal behavior. Must the dam be dismantled?
The more sticks you remove before releasing the water the easier it is to move the mud

What we need is footage of the beavers appearing, saying "Dude, where's our dam gone?"
That must have took beavers a long time to build. Amazing
Wicked cool! Love these videos
That is,a super tiny dam. The record length is The world's largest beaver dam is visible from space in satellite images. It is almost 800 metres long from end-to-end, and holds back run-off water from the Birch Mountains in the southernmost end of Wood Buffalo National Park. The front of the actual dam, runs approximately 775 metres in length.
Wow that’s the best beaver damn ever. 😢😢you broke it😢😢

This would have been the perfect dam to undermine. I wish you would have removed material from the back of the dam first so we could see it all fall and collapse in one go

In this way, we would flood the houses in the village below.
If that is a beavers nature to create dams, maybe they know something we humans don’t. Yes it indeed creates a pond but nature seems to know what it’s doing.

I know this is true and I admit you are right - but try to understand me - search on Facebook for videos of beaver dam removal and see how many of my recordings there are. Additionally, when I report these illegally copied recordings, in most cases Facebook does not even want to remove them. Hence these giant watermarks with the name of my channel - especially on sections where the dams are really large and willingly copied from my channel.
Maciek powiedz czy brat wpadł kiedyś z koparka do rzeki w czasie pracy przy tamie bobrow
I BET THEM BEAVERS SAYING, WHAT THA F GOING ON!!😂😂😂
The local council members made up of the eldest beaver, two junior beavers, three blue jays, one old turtle, two muskrats, one common garter snake, three raccoons, two ducks with their seven ducklings, one salamander, two local owls, four sparrows, the only two surviving long-tailed weasels, representatives of the trout and catfish families, two deer, frogs and a whole slew of feeder insects proceeded to establish possible emigration policies in order to minimize the effect of the territory's total destruction. How each will try to help others in these sad times. To find temporary shelter and other food sources. Life in and around the beaver pond that took years to build was now gone.

Come back next week and do it again! ....
There are no leaves on any trees. Tjat should tell you it is most likely winter.
What's really amazing is how, during evolution, beavers learned to cut down trees and such, bring them to a spot where they can dam up a creek to make a pond, and then build a mound of material where they access the insides from the bottom to live in safe from all predators.

WHY???? It did not look like the backed-up water was destroying valuable farmland. WHY?
Why does the guy keep stepping back and then forward… in the way of the excavator?

It's a watermark because people steal other people's videos.
I kinda hate to see it destroyed. I've found some excellent fishing in bever ponds.
That stream could use some loose rock check dams -- it's seriously eroded! I've never seen a beaver dam with that big a height above the stream bed -- I've always seen beavers make a series of dams where the water level in each one is at the bottom of the next one upstream. Watching this I found myself wondering if there's a way to encourage them to build lower down. I also found myself wondering what would happen if a 16" culvert pipe were put into the dam to keep the water level lower -- would the beavers just plug it?
@Ntwadumela1
2 ай бұрын
Either the beavers will plug it, or it will get clogged naturally, or someone will steal it, or the beavers will build a second dam. These so called beaver deceivers are only good in theory.
