@ James Burba. - If I couldn't do a better job than that I wouldn't call myself an 'Excavator' operator. He needs to keep that damn 'tree claw' folded up more and get on with the business of cleaning out the ditch and only use it when absolutely necessary. You could tell he was a 'town employee', - he ran that machine as if he had all the time in the world and wasn't afraid of losing his job. I have an 'excavating business' in the UK and I wouldn't employ him.

It's not always about speed. Sometimes it's about detail and skill.

Way he was working that machine, you think he was needing money for hernia operation.

Beavers will have it rebuilt before this snail finishes...

I love these kinds of videos bcz they’re very relaxing to watch and focus on. I’m in the middle of packing and moving and my brain needs to be focused on that, but after a few hours of that, I need a break and beaver dam removal is the ticket! lol! A lot of beaver dam removal vids use the free janky KZread music and as soon as I hear it oh I bale out on them never to return, bcz I can’t stand that kind of crappy music, it ticks me off, and I wondered why anyone would choose that crap? I really love the music you used in this video bcz it makes me forget about the craziness of packing! GOOD JOB!! I love the drone footage too! It’s awesome!

Shame on the town for the deferred maintenance to that drainage ditch. It’s too bad he didn’t finish it all the way to the outlet into the lake. I had a feeling that he hadn’t finished with the 1st dam, he didn’t want release all the water behind the dam at one time. He went back and dug the rest out after the water had gone down some.

Prefer original sound track...revving engine, slooshing of water, crunching of branches.

I rather watch paint drying it would be quicker , hand shovel be quicker , if this operator is getting paid !! Don’t pay !! And I’m an operator! The waters moving quicker then him 🤣

This guy must be paid by the hour.I seen a lot of drainage canals cleaned, he left more than he removed.He just shuttled back and forth when he was already sitting in a spot to remove more brush and trees. What about the other side ?

Just like football they’re all couch coaches!

'Post 10' would have been quicker, probably cheaper too.

This might be that excavator guy who’s always damaging the culverts… :-)

Painfully slow.... He (or she) could have cleared the dam and trees from his original position.. Also... you take the weight off the tracks (bucket on ground) as you steer to avoid excessive wear on tracks, rollers and sprockets.

At 14:55 the little blue bucket makes its first appearance. Then at 20:49 he makes his curtain call. Then at 24:50 his friend (red bucket) appears from the depths

The operator should have watched a few YOU Tube vids on using an excavator , doesn't use bucket to help change direction .

You don't know what you are doing, the beaver push mud and sticks up against the dam from the bottom of the pond and you have to dig out of whole thing front of the dam, so the creek channel will be back to normal.

Who let the canal get so clogged with trees and debris poor management and that operator needs lessons in use of his equipment-

Sure enjoyed watching the town do a 1/2 hour job in 2 hours. A private contractor would have not wasted that much time.

Put that bucket in the water and dig all that material still in there. Look at the current where the dam was, still a lot debris. You dig out both sides of the dam first then break the dam. Shit

Should have removed all the trees below the dam first as well. Just how long was the dam there for all that silt to have gotten there and the trees to grow to that size??
