i feel like after you beat brutal mode and go to sleep... the game over sound effect stays in your mind and plays on repeat...

Brutal wasn't even tested. They just drastically lowed player hp and majorly heightened the enemy's hp without taking to account any balancing. Add with the ammo withdrawal and you got an unfair piece of bullshit.

peled1 gaming when I tried that, after every checkpoint restart the clock gives you a penalty of 1/2 or 1 second, not sure anymore

@@mitu123Copper I agree too, but I found chapter 11 to be way more manageable if you go down the broken stars and shoot from that cover. I would also add chapter 15 (right before you enter the treasure vault), chapter 20 and 22.

In that crate part it all comes down to luck

(Flashback to 8 years ago playing this mode) *Shudders* Glad I finished this mess

This difficulty stressed me the hell out. I got to the end of the first game and there’s a bulls**t section where you dodge a bunch of falling boxes then the AI instantly kills it’s random if you make it out of that part I spent 2 hours there.

That pretty much sums it up.

2:15, “Lights out Drake!”

1:37, “You’re finished!”

Yeah, I used an exploit that allows you to use tweaks in a difficulty you haven't completed so you can have infinite ammo and one-shot kills enabled (doesn't work on uncharted 2 and 3), and brutal was still super hard, and the best part is, one shot kills does not work on the car's turret, so I died tons of times to that area. Also, if you jump into the cutscene trigger on that last crate then the enemies don't immediately fire on you for some reason.

That exploit actually works on Uncharted 3, i know that because i used it to complete Brutal. Still did both Uncharted 1 and 2 Brutal without any exploits however.

Uncharted but with no plot armor

I'm on crushing difficulty mode currently and hating it. I honestly thought this mode would be balanced. Brutal looks even worse if that were even possible. Why doesn't Naughty Dog understand that dropping the player's health while upping the enemies HP and attack simply does not constitute a fair and balanced challenge?

Brutal wasn't tested well at all, I would know as I played it and suffer through the whole thing. They also reduce the ammo on guns so you'll barely have any in most fights.

Crushing isn't that punishing though! You just have to be real patient! No rushing! Yeah some combats are pretty difficult, on those you have to memorize where the enemy come from and pre bomb there!

NO one can beat this game without dying on brutal... Because it's not skill dependant... That's how broken this difficulty is. You WILL NOT do the Jeep part or chapter 22 (boxes falling as shown in the video) in one try, you just won't... And all you have seen on youtube here is edited out. In the JEEP chase, you die so many times from enemies where you can't even aim at them or before they even appear out of the bushes. I can stand the low ammo. I can stand the enemies being tanks. I can stand their ridiculous aim lock and awareness... However, that 2 hit kill bullshit is completely unnecessary. They should've just made the enemies with stronger weapons and on larger number than crushing, and not this 2 (sometimes it's 1 hit) hit kill from any weapon, even a goddamn pistol from miles away, bullshit. Dying from not even being able to control Drake is just insulting.

It could be possible to beat the games without dying once on brutal,but without a doubt,it definitely requires so much luck. While most of the chapters could be cheesed with specific strategies to where its a walk in the park,there are parts that require pure luck to get through on the first try. Like the entirety of Chapter 7 and the final wave of enemies in Chapter 22 for example(in first game)

I finished the whole nathan drake collection and got 100% (which means i did brutal in all games)

I love the game, but tbh crushing and above is absolute bs. I've had checkpoints where I couldn't get from the start of the level to the first cover without getting killed for 50 times in a row. You can't do anything about it except hope the AI let's you go there. And after 50 times you've finally reached the cover only to get blasted with a shotgun from the guy who spawned behind you as a ninja. 10/10 would play again.

@@slycther2.027 Crushing is pretty bullshit in the first Uncharted tbf. It's so poorly balanced that the 2nd half of the game is actually easier than the first. Uncharted 2's crushing isn't too bad, haven't played through 3 on crushing, and Uncharted 4's is definitely challenging.

Uncharted 1 is so boring gameplay-wise, I didnt bother playing it even on Normal. Brutal is completely insane, I wanna see how QA (Game Testers) tested this difficulty, cuz I 100% they didnt even touch this difficulty...

It honestly seems like they didn't, because I tried it and it seems like various sections are RNG if you would live or die.

The people with the 92FS pistol always 1 shot on brutal and it was so annoying im glad i got the brutal trophy and platinum for all 3

Not ashamed to say I glitched all three brutal runs to enable tweaks and... honestly... it kinda became fun as opposed to a rage-inducing slog

Yeah the Brutal Trophy is just part of the Extra Trophy List. Crushing is still required for platinum though. But it's only 1/4 as hard as Brutal. And much more fair.

You can't say you've beaten any of the Uncharted games on brutal without dying because if you do, I will call out "bullshit".

I honestly do love the Uncharted series, but besides the "escaping with the jeep" part, which was nuts and dumb, the last encounter before you are facing Navarro (starting at around 2:00) was pure bullshit. Even on crushing I died several times without any chance of doing something after the short animation. It felt so unfair, if it wasn't close to the end I might have ended playing it right there... That said, I love you Naughty Dog :-*

1:56 ohh the time when Playstation got a Home Free games while on a Pandemic i remembered 100% all the trophy and that part got me ptsd 💀💀💀 i hate it I suffer to get all of the platinum that it makes me want to resuffer again when i get a new PS5 hahahahha

The whole of chapter 7 is some of the worst coding/decision making I’ve ever seen in a game

@DreSaidSo I beat it yesterday. Definitely possible. Just take your time with each section and be patient. Avoid taking cover the normal way and just hide behind walls while aiming and peaking at the corners. There's also some tricks to beat some levels. For example, the last level on this video where the guy was dying over and over after the quick time event, all he had to do was to roll back to where he came from and hide behind the container. That way you can kill the enemies more easily without exposing yourself.

@@Drequan Unfortunately I did not save a video, I didn't realise at the time that anyone would want to see it and I assumed it would be a reproducible feat by any veteran player. However the trophy time stamps are perhaps even better evidence then an easily edited together video. I got both Charted - Brutal and the trophy for beating the final chapter without dying simultaneously on the 21/10/2015. Although I appreciate hacks and exploits are common nowadays, back then the PS4 was years away from commercial exploits which would enable The Nathan Drake collection to be run on a jailbroken system. It was therefore impossible for me to have edited the game files in any way when the trophies were earned.
