I'm a good deal older than you are and I also just traded up my 1961 Singer for a Brother machine. My mother bought the Singer used in 1963, and it is the only machine I had ever sewn with. I like my new machine but the rumors are true. The older you get, the longer it takes to learn new things.🤪

It’s hard to change something when you took the time to learn it and are comfortable, it can be quite intimidating. Although I am so happy I did get this machine 💕 now I wonder how I ever used the old one lol 😂

I have the same brother sewing machine, and it works really great 🎉

You can never go wrong with a sewing machine in the Brother CS* series. They are good work horses.

Is this a good machine for making dress shirts and suits (mohair, wool, and cashmere fabrics)? Is it also a good daily workhorse that'll last for years, and is easy to service and find replacement parts for?

I have mainly made doll clothing with it and clothes for my daughter, so I can’t say for sure on the suits but it should be fine for it. So far I haven’t had to service it or find replacement parts. I probably have around 300 hours on it this far.

I sew a lot of doll clothes too, I recently got a Husqvarna Viking Jade 35.I would really like to be able to enter to win that doll because, she is so cute !
