I am so thankful to have found your videos. I have always sewn by hand and decided to buy this machine after watching your very informative videos. Setup was easier than I could have imagined. My first use consisted of mending 7 pieces of my “holy” clothing while taking a break from writing. Looking forward to doing more with this machine. For those looking for a great machine for beginners - I highly recommend. If I can do it anyone can - I have never used a sewing machine in my 49 years of living. Don’t be intimidated.

Hi Jen! I’ve just purchased the Brother 7000i. It’s out of the box and ready for me to begin sewing. I had a Brother 8450 and it gave me such apprehension I never sewed a stitch. I’ve also owned a very old White and a Kenmore with cams. I wore out the Kenmore! Enjoyed it immensely and turned out clothes for everyone in our household. Your demonstration was very easy to follow. It did make me want to pop to my sewing room and get started even after midnight! Thanks! I’ll watch more tips on this machine and fashioning fabric.

Show us different machines in different price classes. Do a comparison... there are so many people that wants a new machine but dont know which one is good. It took me like months to do research and look for machine reviews to finally decide.

Sewing Report Thank you so much for this series on the Brothers CSi6000-7000 series. I’ve been machine sewing for 50+ years. This is my first computerized machine. I have a heavy duty machine and a Baby Phat serger. I chose this machine for supposed “ease of learning and use”. I’m feeling a little anxious about learning and operating properly. I really love sewing & crocheting. I think you’re just the person I need to get me up and running with confidence. The machine is shipping now. Wish everyone success 🥇🌟.

I’ve been using a CS6000i for 1-1/2 yrs now & I rewatched this + the one on presser feet. I definitely agree with Brother’s quality for these economical machines. I wish there was an adjustment for presser foot pressure (for heavy fabrics, multiple layers, thick batting, etc.) but I guess being able to drop the feed dogs is good enough. Your advice (& Leah Day’s) on the FMQ foot is essential-viewing for quilters in my opinion. My wife & I have an old Brother LS-217, too, and it’s 100% mechanical action seems to stitch more strongly through tough fabrics. However, all the functions of the CS series make it easy for beginners to stay enthused. It’d be great to have a wider throat space for quilts but for

Hey! I really love watching your videos... They are really nice for beginners like me... I just wanted to say, for the European watchers : i *think* the European equivalent of this machine is the Brother CX70PE. Would be cool if anyone could confirm my suspicion.... Xoxo!

I have had a older Singer basic since 1994. It just broke and looking for new machine. I really would like to know how you feel about this machine now that you have used more. This looks like I might want this machine. It will be my birthday present this month.

SO I just ordered this machine and received it the other day. I tried it out yesterday and today and I noticed that the bobbin thread has gotten jammed a few times. I think a couple times were my own fault, but some of the other times I wasn't doing anything crazy that would have caused it to jam...I saw some people in the reviews say the same thing. I'm just wondering if it is something I am doing or if it could just be the machine

Hi. Could you do a demonstration of how to start sewing and using the foot pedal please?? I got through the bobbin and threading the needle but can't seem to get the foot pedal to work properly.

Can you use the automatic needle threader with stitch 01? I know the needle position changes, so would it miss the needle?

It looks like that model has the same / similar shank as the Brother CS7000i but before buying anything make sure it's compatible with your machine

I have a weird question... does the machine cover snap on somehow or does it just kind of lay over the machine? It came with styrofoam inside the cover and it wouldn’t easily come out so I thought maybe it’s supposed to stay in there. No instructions on this so thought I’d ask you! Thank you!

Please have you tried to saw denim or leather (vinyl) with the machine ? And if yes how did it cope and what advice can you give ?

No denim or leather yet but I plan to sew lightweight vinyl soon. Most regular sewing machines struggle with heavy fabric / layers no matter how expensive. If you plan to sew a lot with these, go industrial (Juki) or something like Sailrite.
