Formed in 1969, the regiment emerged from the merger of the Royal Horse Guards ("the Blues") and the Royal Dragoons ("the Royals"), units with roots in the mid-17th century. Serving globally, it had roles in Northern Ireland, the Cold War in West Germany, the Falklands War, UN missions in Bosnia, and conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. It was part of key defense strategies and reconnaissance missions. Notably, Prince William and Prince Harry joined as cornets in 2006.

36:31 i wouldn't be surprised if it was some sort of sunblock. That part of the horses face is very sensitive and the coat is thin.

Personally I think the tourist shouldn't be allowed to get close to the horse. They just don't know how to behave. They wonder why the soldier has to yell at them to stop touching the reins. 😮

I have a feeling that what he’s putting on the horses muzzle is sunscreen of sorts because that skin was turning very pink from the sun. It’s very delicate and so he’s making sure that it’s protected. (Not in the nose, on the nose)

That is exactly what it is - sunscreen in a powder form for horses' muzzles, especially for those with white/pink markings.

My horse's blaze went down to his top lip & I would always put a high level suncreen on starting above his nose down. One day we went to a show all day & I forgot to pack it so both of us got pretty sunburnt which developed water blisters then we both peeled to make things worse. Never forgot to pack it again! Glad to see this if that's what the soldier is doing.

I love the time stamps. Sometimes an hour long video is just so long and I miss the most important parts. Please don't stop. Nice to see that the guards and horses are taken care of during the hot weather. Here in my city in South Texas it can get up to 104-5 F in summer. That poor horse with the powder or ointment put on his nose probably has a chapped nose with all the tourists touching it, not to mention all the germs etc.

Sunscreen for Montgomery, refreshing water for the boxman. Athough perhaps the water could be delivered in the cardboard carriers like what is used at the large takeaway franchises for coffee and the like. A strong back is needed as the pail looks heavy. The boxman at left is one very cool dude...i've gotten used to seeing his right profile (eyes right) then his left profile (eyes left) I like him.... Thanks London Chronicles. kiwi 😊

I would imagine you would need to ask The Guardsman. If the apple was sliced it would be easier for the horse to eat,he has large steel bits in his mouth, making it difficult to handle a whole apple. Actually a whole apple is difficult for the big guys because they can’t “hold it”. If I was the rider,I would be very careful about who fed my horse.
