WHO THE KING'S GUARDS ARE?
Formed in 1969, the regiment emerged from the merger of the Royal Horse Guards ("the Blues") and the Royal Dragoons ("the Royals"), units with roots in the mid-17th century. Serving globally, it had roles in Northern Ireland, the Cold War in West Germany, the Falklands War, UN missions in Bosnia, and conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. It was part of key defense strategies and reconnaissance missions. Notably, Prince William and Prince Harry joined as cornets in 2006. ❤ 🇬🇧

Good, I'd be fed up, too! Not only Soldiers, Police etc. These poor animals are also up at the crack of dawn! For WHAT!? OUTDATED COSTLY RITUAL for a COSSETED RF! THE MILLIONS the taxpayers have had to carry for THIS, when we can't afford to feed our kids n giving away our beloved PETS because of rising costs! IT'S DISGUSTING and shows just how the Monarchy feels about their Subjects! Tourism, GET THE MONEY IN! TAXPAYER STILL HAS TO PAY!? WHERE are the BENEFITS to the Nationals of this country? Dont forget these guards are actual soldiers sent to wars. Britain dont lose this because this makes you different from other countries amd without hris your tourism might be affected necause people come to witness this. The Trooping of the Colour has marked the official birthday of the British Sovereign for over 260 years. Over 1400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians come together each June in a great display of military precision, horsemanship and fanfare to mark the Sovereign's official birthday. " To assure The King’s Birthday Parade, Trooping The Colour, is of sufficiently high standard, the Colonel’s Review is held one week before, and it was this glittering event that thrilled the audience of 6,500 today on Horse Guards Parade and down The Mall. After months of gruelling rehearsal and painstaking preparation, two hundred and fifty musicians, twenty pipers, two hundred and forty military working horses, an extremely large dog, and almost a thousand dual role soldiers of the British Army’s Household Division delivered a magnificent spectacle today. Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales, Colonel Irish Guards, was unable to attend the parade this year. Lt Col James Shaw, Brigade Major of Household Division, said: “We totally understand, and our thoughts and best wishes are with Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales. We were even more determined to make the Colonel’s Review the best yet, for Her. We are so proud to have The Princess of Wales as the Colonel of the Irish Guards.” The Irish Guards were deeply touched to receive a letter from their Regimental Colonel, Her Royal Highness, The Princess of Wales this morning, wishing those on parade good luck for the Colonel’s Review of the King’s Birthday Parade. It was read out to the soldiers as they prepared to step off on parade from Wellington Barracks. We continue to wish Her Royal Highness well in her recovery and send Her our very best wishes. The salute taker for the Colonel’s Review today was Lieutenant General James Bucknall, KCB, CBE. The former Commander of the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps has attended every King’s Birthday Parade since 2009 when he was appointed Colonel of the Coldstream Guards having served as a Coldstream Guards Officer for more than 45 years."
