London Chronicles

From the bus routes to the King's Guard & Horses at Horse Guards in London.

WHO THE KING'S GUARDS ARE?
Formed in 1969, the regiment emerged from the merger of the Royal Horse Guards ("the Blues") and the Royal Dragoons ("the Royals"), units with roots in the mid-17th century. Serving globally, it had roles in Northern Ireland, the Cold War in West Germany, the Falklands War, UN missions in Bosnia, and conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. It was part of key defense strategies and reconnaissance missions. Notably, Prince William and Prince Harry joined as cornets in 2006. ❤ 🇬🇧

Go ahead stick your hand in my mouth so I can take a bite, then complain because I bit you. Stay away from the horses.

These are Military Men with powerful well trained horses, it is NOT A PETTING ZOO! Be respectful and keep your distance, DO NOT TOUCH the horse or the rider or the horses Tack. You are not allowed to. These horses WILL BITE and they have a very strong bite that will leave bruising and may break skin….and that will be your fault. DO NOT put small children and infants in reach of the horses mouth, the result may not be worth the pic. SHOW RESPECT AND KEEP YOUR DISTANCE. You do not need to touch the horse or its tack for ANY REASON AT ALL. Remember, these are working men and horses, doing an important job, tourists poking and prodding can be a distraction from their primary duty……..and could irritate the horse. Just take your photos from a distance, never get closer than two arms lengths and do not offer up your infants to the horses. It’s really simple, think about what would happen in your Country if you and 100 other people every day approached Mounted Police or Cavalry to pet their horses……it’s just not something that would be acceptable. Why do tourists think it is acceptable in the UK, because it’s NOT. Read the signs on the walls next to the horses and riders. It tells you what NOT TO DO, BUT YOU KEEP ON DOING IT. TOUR GUIDES….STOP SAYING ITS OK. JUST GIVE THE RESPECT THAT IS WELL DESERVED BY THESE HIGHLY TRAINED MEN AND THEIR MOUNTS. Don’t touch them. PLEASE! NEVER OFFER FOOD OR DRINK TO THE HORSES, THEY ARE VERY WELL LOOKED AFTER. 💂🏾💂‍♂️💂🏽‍♂️💂💂🏾💂‍♂️💂🏽‍♂️💂💂🏾💂‍♂️💂🏽‍♂️💂💂🏾💂‍♂️💂🏽‍♂️💂💂🏾💂‍♂️💂🏽‍♂️💂💂🏾💂‍♂️💂🏽‍♂️💂💂🏾💂‍♂️💂🏽‍♂️💂💂🏾💂‍♂️💂🏽‍♂️💂💂🏾💂‍♂️

Cute guard, looks new to me but maybe not. Beautiful horse, I will call her Elizabeth Taylor since I don't know her name (or his, maybe he is a gelding). I guess that name would be National Velvet after the movie which I think was made at Pinewood Studios near Uxbridge but not sure of that. I don't call that assault but just another nosy woman sticking in her two cents. Wonderful guards and police too, I like it when they are strong and there are a number as we know. Good men.

They should put a sign up saying not to touch the horses. It gets some of the horses quiet distressed and people just ignore that. Its not a petting zoo so they should stop
