Unbelievable: In The Name of Tradition (FGM IN IRAN)

SUBSCRIBE TODAY bit.ly/2CwckC3

With over 200 million victims around the world (WHO, 2023), the war against female bodies has been waged for centuries in silence and behind closed doors. While some countries have made major strides to reduce FGM by education and other measures, in some countries such as Iran, the existence of FGM is rampant.
Directed and produdced by Kameel Ahmady, this documentary film, which is first of its kind to be made on this issue, explores this phenomenon by directly talking to locals, parents, clergymen and most importantly to circumcisers who do this practice for living including local men. The film also presents local doctors calling the public to stop this vicious tradition.
The film ends when a top Iranian clergyman encourages mothers and fathers to cut their new-born girls. He tries to reassure the public that not only it doesn't harm girls, but that girls won't have any sexual dysfunctions or complications, but that it will increase the pleasure of sex between men and women.
Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is an abhorrent, sick human rights violation. This is the violent nature of the practice and it still happens. If you agree FGM should be abolished, please help us speak out against female genital mutilation on behalf of all the victims and survivors who don't have a voice. Share and leave your comment. Thank You.

I'm so proud of that one lady who has a young daughter who she didn't get circumcised because she heard it was dangerous, and the daughter was scared. That mom is so brave

I feel for those who are still subjected to female genital mutilation. It leaves many with lifelong medical issues, even death. Stand up, sisters, and say no more!

It's so concerning so many people still don't know the full anatomical structure... I suspect they are talking about removing the glans / small exposed nerve bundle people often think of as the clitoris, it's a small ( but important) part of the whole structure. I also doubt circumcision of males is required. is there data on infection rates and if they just taught boys how to wash themselves properly ???

Yes, rinsing the head in the shower is all that's needed. Still, WHO recommended _voluntary_ circumcision for adult males to avoid HIV [not for other diseases]. But on the bad side, there is a loss of sensation during penetration.

the video description is a little misleading, it states: "The film ends when a top Iranian clergyman encourages mothers and fathers to cut their new-born girls. He tries to reassure the public that not only it doesn't harm girls, but that girls won't have any sexual dysfunctions or complications, but that it will increase the pleasure of sex between men and women." but that seems to take place around the 10:10 mark, not at the end. This video ends with a series of three men, presumably two doctors and one clergyman, denouncing the practice. He even goes so far as to say that it does nothing but hurt your daughter's body at 25:54 and then he goes on to say that FGM/C should not be carried out due to the problems and side effects listed above.

It is not the prophet's s.a.w.s tradition nor is it islamic. People need to learn the true facts and learn the religion properly and stop following culture and society.

Yes it is. The prophet Muhammad commented on fgm. He said that if cutting is done then not to take a lot. I'm not sure what hadith it was but I can assure you it's there if you look for it. Ask your imam and if he does not know then ask others.

If male circumcision [which is universally practiced in Muslim communities] is part of the religion, then so is FGM. Any mention of circumcision in the Quran/Hadith applies to both genders.

No it doesn't go do research and speak to someone of knowledge and Google doesn't count. Anyone can put anything on the internet these days please go find proper information. Muslim women are not required to do this. Boys are But if someone is not initially born muslim and they convert later on in their life they don't have to circumcise because it would be too painful.
