Afghanistan is trying to recover from a lifetime's worth of strife and thanks to international aid efforts life is slowly beginning to change. Mountain villages have benefited from reservoirs whilst children of Kabul are increasingly attending schools. "For them, going to school is like being in a different world, a world where they simply are children." Yet problems remain. Many families in Kabul rely on their children to work. "If you are poor, this job is all you get", says 12 year old Navid, who works as a porter. A bright future for Afghanistan seems possible but it is in jeopardy without a comprehensive aid strategy, sound governance and financing.

@Danait Amanuel Islam hasn't waged war in Afghanistan all these years. It's the US and the lapdogs of the US better known as the NATO countries and the puppet government known as Afghanistans government that have bombed the landscape and killed the civilians to line their own pockets. If they wanted to get the terrorists that allegedly planned and carried out the 9/11 attacks they should have waged war in Saudi Arabia where most of the alleged attackers were from.

Fahir Shah Before the USA got involved, Afghanistan was such a beautiful peaceful country. It was like heaven on Earth. But then the Americans came and brought along much propaganda with them. At some point the Taliban blew up a sacred monument in Bamiyan Province. The Taliban thought it had destroyed one of the world's wonders, the monumental Buddha statues of the Bamiyan Valley. ... They were once the world's largest standing Buddhas. In March 2001 Taliban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar ordered the Buddhas destroyed. They were subsequently blown apart and left in rubble. www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-31813681 What this means is that some Afghanis do not like their country much. They are terrorists and they enjoy terrorising their own people and the women in particular. And this has nothing to do with the USA. www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1AOHY_enGB709GB709&q=afghan+veiled+women&tbm=isch&source=univ&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj0haC4k9_gAhUKkRQKHcFTBVgQsAR6BAgEEAE&biw=1366&bih=677

My soul cries. The ever prospered lands of Western & South-Western Asia since the dawn of advanced civilizations -Mesopotamia, Harappa, the Indus Valley, who gave us the glimpses of human endeavour towards progressive thought transcending ethnic barriers by establishing trade and cultural relations across South Asia have ended up in such pitiful conditions in these ultra modern times at the hands of alien powers. India, an ancient sibling of Afghanistan, having its share of sweet as well as bitter memories since Mauryan times and beyond, has to uphold its role as a helpful ally. I as a responsible Indian citizen feel abided to this fact.

Why are you looking to the West, which you revile? Where people work night and day, and pay you, out of their taxes? You are not to proud it seems to take money from the infidel?! My advice, direct your supplication to your oil rich Muslim brothers, who sit on their arses in the Gulf, happily watching you all suffer. Whilst investing their ill gotten gains in Switzerland. Is that compassion? 40 years of foreign money flowing into corrupt hands and tribal lands who can only see as far as their noses. This is going to stop. It is high time you look to each other, and stop looking elsewhere. It took thousands of years of fighting in Europe to get where we are now, in the end, it is up to you people in Afghanistan, to make your own future.

Star41 Star41 The trouble with the Middle East, Afghanistan, Libya in North Africa, etc. etc. - the trouble is in the political/religious systems practised in the relevant countries. Recognise that and fix what needs to be fixed. You cannot continue to keep blaming the USA for your ills. What I'm saying is that, even if the USA did not exist, the Middle East would still have the same problems. The system is feudal and has been since day one. At best this system caters for the stomach(that is to say, food) but this too fails at times. The system also stifles the mind and controls it by threats, severe punishments, and other horrors. Like in-fighting between one Muslim country and another. Nothing to do with the West And when the is finished, and the situation in the Middle East remains the same or indeed gets worse , who will be blamed then? You'll have to find another scapegoat.

It's really easy for you to have your view and your propaganda media show you something and on the base of documentry you have your say ,you guys have no merci you are arrogant and think always that you are superior ,you guys are very poor if it's come to character I am sorry to say that

Really interesting and cognitive material which will help to turn its attention of world community to situation in Afghanistan.Uzbekistan always helped afghan.Uzb built roads and schools, have given electricity to southern part of Afghan and opened its border to negotiate.Uzb did for Afghan more than any other central asian republics and still doing, and help not in words but in deeds. If say the truth Uzb is only neighbor republic who support afghanistan and we are happy to help our neighbors. And someday everything will be okey with Afghanistan
