That's not what he said. He said "known" "documented". Meaning, they can tell you the peoples names, birthdays and family. The other 10k are unknown. It's still over 35000 but only 24000 have names.

For sure. The health system has completely collapsed which is the reason why they can't update the numbers accurately while people die every day. So clearly the death toll does not remain "unchanged". It just looks that way because no one's able to gather all the information.

Bodies have to be brought to hospitals to be counted and verified, so the ones that have not made it to a hospital, have effectively not been counted Seeing as the hospitals and staff are no longer operational, the method of counting the dead no longer exists in any meaningful capacity. Reports of up to 200,000 dead have been quoted as more accurate. Salam

Whatever. Who controls the count controls the narrative. Lots of people dying is a tragic disaster but since HAMAS is doing the counting who knows what the real count is. Here's a question: how many fighters are among the 10,006 men that are actually HAMAS operatives and is that a separate number that hasn'tbeenreleased yet? How could anyone know the differance because HAMAS soldiers could be wearing civilian clothes? Who's asking those questions?

Over this period of time their would of been 4000 deaths due to old age , cancers natural causes and so on. Also they never tell you how many Hamas killed accidently or on purpose and they never say how many combatants have been killed which will also include combatant women and children which is up to the age of 18 years of age and still it's Hamas's figures being used.

Why no 3rd party investigator either international organisations, NGOs, journalists, peacemakers, volunteers , medical personnels , come into Gaza , verify those numbers from Gaza's ministry of health so that no other countries, leaders , spokesperson or medias can dispute that numbers and details? Yes i know , it's war zone , but Al jazeera , the local press is on-site , can release current news , interview of Palestinians people even among the displaced population and ruins of buildings eventhough it's in warzone. Also i still remember , during the early ground invasion of Israel, international journalist are allowed on Gaza ground to do live reporting and so on by IDF protection , so just coordinate the 3rd party investigators into Gaza with protection from militaries like before.

Israel has banned independent journalist from reporting from Gaza. The only information available is the information released by either side of belligerents. Which for strategic interest will be cherry picked and censored because information warfare is a very real thing. News from official sources of any belligerent, be it Ukraine, Russia, Hamas or Israel, should always be viewed for what they are, another strategic political tool used to further their internal interests.

Of the 10.000 men and 4900 women? Lets say all where terrorist. 7700+ children allready got killed. What about that? 75+ % of northern gaza is destroyed amd will take decades to rebuild. It's not the total number of casualties that is in dispute. It is the claimed % of women and children within the total. Which has been reported since March. UN, 6th May fatalities: "9500 women and 14500 children". 8th May fatalities: "4959 women and 7797 children". A huge reduction. And how many "fighters" have been killed?

The numbers are probably higher. Imagine all the people who will never be identified and found.

Not all of them, some are made up and the reason they sound cold is because they don't really believe the numbers either.

The death toll doesn't remain "unchanged" bc ppl die every day. It has simply become increasingly more difficult to count and identify them due to the collapse of the health system. Most hospitals have been destroyed which is where the deaths were counted and documented.

The reason they had the first numbers was because all they could document was if it was a man, woman, Female child, male child, elderly man and elderly woman. Not fully documented. Although the numbers are most definitely not correct and that's because there are many more buried in the rubble, blown up into bits and/or in mass graves.

Original number was from the Hamas government PR office. These new numbers are from the Hamas health ministry. In any case, both are shady.

Their figures have never distinguished between civilians and militants, giving a very distorted view of who was killed.

Bodies could be burnt beyond recognition / and or unearthed from rubble / squashed by bulldozers / entire families have been wiped out / careful and systematic identification would be difficult amidst the panic and confusion / hell / that is Gaza at present.

100,000 to 200,000 is a more accurate number. Bodies under the rubble. Bodies blown apart only small portions remain. The true count will probably never be known.
