I always said the same thing...Ultron was concerned about Wanda dying in Sokovia...Vision went to save her.

For those who haven't seen wandavision, spoilers... This theory is interesting and might explain why white Vision showed no interest in Wanda. He was Vision but without the mind stone is no longer linked to Ultron and therefore to Wanda aswell. We might have to wait and see but it can be an interesting aspect to explore.

I thought of this too! If you think of a person as made up of mind body and soul, White Vision has the body (vibranium, remade in Sword), the mind (JARVIS AI with its memories restored) but not the soul (the piece of the mind stone that passed through Ultron) ... so he's not really the Vision that loves Wanda.

No sword suppressed Jarvis ultron still is in there with Jarvis u can see that when white vision was created he immediately checked his left arm the arm ultron had lost at the end on age of ultron meaning he's still in there and when hex vision unlocked white vision he again had feelings.

@@ItsAK69 Indeed. He probably left after because he had to fix himself as a person now. The problem is he only got the memories until the Infinity War and not what the Hex Vision had which is very tragic to say for Wanda.

This actually makes it easier for Ultron to actually return because he never left, always has been in the vision

You could even say that the Mind Stone loved her and when it sort of got a body, Ultron's, it went about trying to gain Wanda's affections because there was the latent stone within him. Then, it fully ended up in Vision's head and it could REALLY impress her now! It was not about to screw up the way Ultron was with her. Probably why Vision refused to ever be a super murder bot the way Infinity Ultron was in What If...? I guess THAT variant of the Mind Stone didn't love Wanda because Ultron annihilated her. That scene where Zombie Wanda meets Infinity Ultron suggests that Infinity Ultron either never knew Wanda/there was no Wanda/simply didn't love her because he seems very confused when he meets her, but he still goes about wrecking her anyway.

To add to your theory, in the comics Ultron is obsessed/in love with Janet van Dyne (Wasp). He even built Jocasta, another robot, in her likeness. So, because she hadn't been included with this generation of Avengers, they probably decided to make his obsession Wanda instead.

I love how Ultron was made out of the futurism of Tony Stark, but it automatically led to a different POV that was exactly the fear that made Tony Stark a Futurist. it's like a time heist but in a psychological way.

This theory is weird, but we have to admit that he created a body that had exactly what Wanda loves. 😑 It doesn't smell of coincidence.

You could say that the part of Vision that makes him emotional, causing him to become distracted during the airport battle, that causes him to feel lonely when he's without Wanda and insecure when asking her to be with him, comes from the small percentage of Ultron's personality matrix that's in his brain. Vision's longing for companionship may come from Ultron but his compassion prevents these emotions from overwhelming him and causing him to lash out in hatred.

Ive always find it weird why ultron didn't kill natasha or the twins... Now Im interested to rewatch it with a new perspective!

He probably figured that Nat was peak human. She is capable of breaking both bones and psyche and yet at the same time hold together even the most broken families. So maybe he wanted her to be his blueprint?

Ultron's "I don't have anyone else" directed at Natasha reminds me of Tony's "I don't have anyone but you" directed at Pepper when he asked her to change his arc reactor in Iron Man 1.

I loved every bit of this theory....I've always suspected Ultron genuinely cared for Wanda once I saw that final moment they had right before she ripped his "heart" out...the way he says "if you stay,you'll die" had a lot of emotion in it

Well I think technically he doesn't love her but feels an affinity to her due to whatever happened to her when the mind stone reacted to her so mabey on a deep level he just understood that they were similar

Counter argument: It’s established that the infinity stones have a kind of sentience. Wanda realized her powers and manifested herself through her introduction to the mind stone. Ultron started creating Vision with the mind stone which powers him. They seem to share an understanding and connection where Wanda can “feel” him through the mind stone as shown in Infinity War. Later when Tyler Hayward rebuilds Vision he seems the same but is missing the destroyed mind stone. He even gets his memories restored but he doesn’t seem to care about Wanda anymore. Therefore we can summarize that the mind stone is actually the link here. The mind stone recognizes Wanda and loves her. It’s still possible that Ultron did love her for another reason. She’s just so stinking cute! Who wouldn’t?

I just have one question: would you guys make this same assumption if Wanda were male? Why is that because ultron comes of as male, his "love for wanda" is a romantic "in love" one? I'm not denying the possibility that he may have cared for the Maximoffs, but that emotion very well could have been a familial one. Maybe if Ultron was shown preferring Wanda's company often, it could've warranted this romantic implication, but I don't recall anything like that.

I love this theory. I have always wondered how the romance between Wanda en Vision could arise so quickly, and him just showing up at the end of AoU to rescue her seemed random, with their relationship advancing quickly from that point onwards. But what you proposed fills in the blanks perfectly; the ambiguous, one-sided and somewhat awkward relationship between Ultron and Wanda continued through Vision. Somehow Vision, with his curiosity and pure heart, was able to develop an actual love towards Wanda, who then reciprocated. I wonder what must had been going on inside Vision's mind at the end and directly after AoU, if he understood where his affection to Wanda came from and if he tried to rationalize it.

Can we just talk about the fact that Ultron was right Wanda did tear them apart from the inside the explosion in Lagos was because of her which caused the soacvia accords which tarred them apart

I had started thinking about this theory too, as I noticed how Vision’s affection towards Wanda in the comics, his brain patterns were based on Wonder Man who was in love with the Scarlet Witch. Looking back at how a part of Ultron is what made Vision in the MCU and how he shown most concern to Wanda overall led me to think about the theory.

Ultron WANTED Wanda. He loved himself only, and that was in an askew way. What you have to unerstand about Ultron was that he was made from the mindstone which had been in the hands of aliens who'd been instilling the whole "Freedom is life's great lie" bullshit in Loki and others, and it'd been in the hands of Hydra who had the "humanity could not be trusted with it's own freedom" mentality. Tony made Ultron expecting him to rescue the world, but without respect for freedom "peace" would only ever mean either "enslavement" or "extinction". Lack of respect for other people's freedom is basically selfishness, and Ultron obviously had no honest respect for freedom, he viewed others as animals. He may have wanted to mate with Wanda and sought to court her, but really no he didn't "love" her.

There’s no doubt that the mind stone and Wanda have a strong and strange relationship. I want to know more about the life of the stones before it all. Who where the first possessors? How come they’re so powerful yet so manageable for most non-human beings? How come the things that are so intricate with existence can be destroyed?

This is pretty damn solid. Even if it's not what was intended. What do you think this could mean for White Vision and the future? Is all of Ultron, including his alleged love, purged w the destruction of that part of the Mind Stone? Is it still buried within the body? Thus, could White Vision fall back in love with Wanda, or even attempt a retake of the world?

It's cool how Disney's streaming series tend to add more nuance and depth to less loved parts of it's franchises. Seems like a higher form of comic book retcon. WandaVision made Age Of Ultron re-watchable and more enjoyable. The Mandalorian (and cartoons) redeemed a lot of the SW prequels. Disney+ is worth every penny.

It makes me hope we see Ultron again in some form.

I actually thought this when I watched the film aswell.

Here's a last bit of evidence. If Vision's feelings for Wanda come from Ultron, it could be a nod to the comics, where Vision's feelings for Wanda come from the personality that Wonder Man gave him. Either way, Vision's love for Wanda is built-in. Also Wanda is the one to kill Ultron, and she does it by ripping out his heart. Yeah she does it because of Pietro, but the imagery is very on the nose.

For me I personally saw ultron having more of a father or brotherly role towards Wanda, considering that he felt more of a need to keep her safe instead of feeling an affection, almost as if he treated her like family

An interesting theory which helps explain Vision's affection toward Wanda. That did make this version of Ultron a little simp like, or maybe Ultron looking for kinship as both him and Wanda are created by Tony Stalk in a way and hated him, but that just me.
