I used trimlok on my fenders after I cut them, looks pretty good

Great video! How did you re-attach those two metal brackets you took off and repainted in the rear?
@Tacomaholic
5 ай бұрын
Kind of hard to explain but I think I ended up just either flipping them or turning 180 degrees and they lined up nicely and then attached with some stainless steel hardware. Been awhile so I'm not 100%
I may be seeing things, and I could also be wrong.... but that looks like some Dragonlance (Dragons of xxxxxxxx Series) and Forgotten Realms (Drizzt Do'Urden series)? From maybe the early 2000s release? Awesome video, VERY helpful as is your Dobinson snorkel install video, bookmarked for next month or April when I do my own. Would it be more efficient to do the CMC at the same time as trimming the fenders?
@Tacomaholic
3 жыл бұрын
Ha ha oh yeah I've read tons of the Forgotten Realms books. Doing the CMC at the same time probably wouldn't really make much of a difference as far as efficiency goes ... but it could be useful since you are already in the cutting/chopping mood.
Great job, very impressive. If I did that it would look like an idiot with a saw got loose.
The bigger tyres are looking good. How do you think they will handle snow? I'm running nitto Ridge grapplers and they are great off road and on road... But not very snow friendly.
@Tacomaholic
3 жыл бұрын
Yeah snow seems to be the main weak point for most MT. Guess I'll see this winter. 😀
Did you have to modify any part of the firewall like hammer the pinch welds? I have similar UCAs as you and every other video of those running 35s, are using JBA or SPC..I assume they aren’t rubbing on their either?
@Tacomaholic
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I hammered the pinch weld flat for 33s and lightly hammered parts of the upper fenderwell for the 35s. I have a 1" body lift which helped alot with the rubbing.
Great video!! Sounds like you been playing with a balloon by letting out the air. Lmao!!
@Tacomaholic

🤣
If you would've done 3 inches, would that have cut off the bottom mounting hole for the fender? I don't have a body lift or planning on getting one and I am thinking of doing 3 inches and tackling it this weekend (10/24/20). Also, I think that's why it looks like in your video you didn't do the complete 2 inches towards the bottom of the front fenders, right?
@Tacomaholic
3 жыл бұрын
3" seems to be the norm when other guys cut there fenders but I'm not sure if it would get rid of that mounting hole.

Wow....much braver than me....question for all Holics....I have a Gen 2 with only one key, ignition and door. Does the same key supposed to work for the tailgate or is that a separate key? Thanks all

The 2nd Gens did not have a locking tailgate option, but if you add something like the PopNLock then you can code it to your ignition key.
@robertmacdonald2735

@@Tacomaholic My 2014 definitely has a key lock on tailgate with backup camera. I did buy it used so I am not sure if previous oner had a key or the ignition key worked....which doesn't really fit. Or maybe I am looking at a PopNLock....

Brian can you please tell me when jacking up the front how do you keep the Billett UCAS from hitting your remote reservoir hoses? Is there a way I can jack up the front of my Tacoma without making the front suspension go to full droop? Thanks man
@Tacomaholic
2 жыл бұрын
Greetings! The suspension is always going to droop when the front tires are jacked off the ground. You might be able to adjust how you have your reservoir mounted though (probably by moving it closer to the UCA) so the hose won't make contact.

The reason I don't like a Dremel Tool for a job like this is because it leaves behind a trail of gobs of melted plastic. I probably would have done this on a bandsaw.
