the fact that Gaijin still ignores the bug reports regarding penetration and damage on the HSTVL's round... the fact that they STILL don't give it air track/proxy he... yet the (practically) prototype 2S38 gets better stuff than it, at lower br, for money (easier to get than the HSTVL), as a PREMIUM, with lower crew training cost in SL... yeah. People can't say that russian bias does not exist when Gaijin actively goes out of their way to nerf any american tech because it is way better than the pact counterpart

Basically War Thunder's game director said he mains Russia, and only has US/GER/SWE/ISR at ranks 4-6, and that he plays naval arcade only lol But yeah, that explains why russian APHE rounds still overperform at angles, even years after it was disclosed... or this huge difference between the HSTVL suddenly getting a short rod and pen/damage nerf ahistorically but the not even put in service 2S38 gets all it's quirks on day 1

Fun tip - if you chuck the m901 in CC1, the launcher won't fold up, so your time to fire is much much faster!

As an American main, the M901 was game changing when getting those thermal optics. Playing with the TOW while also using the M551's & M60A2's Shillelagh made games that were earning me 30k SL on a bad game and 50k-75K SL on a great game. Include the A-4E's Walleye guided bombs for CAS in a ground RB game and you've got a serious combination that absolutely wipes the floor with other countries at that BR.

SU-22M3's targeting pod is literally the gyro sight same with the su-25s that doesn't have dedicated targeting pods

Firecrest slander will not be accepted, the M3s are great at setting fires and the performance is nuts for 2.3. B+/A- tier you just simply need to be skilled

The firecrest is genuinely one of the best aircraft in tank RB. All of the german open topped and panzer tanks with 10mm of roof armor make it very effective at cas with some of the best dogfighting performance for a plane equipped with more than one 12.7mm

35:34 APDS-FS is a regular APDS with fins, therefore making it APFSDS, but not in a traditional way, traditional APFSDS is lenghtened, this is why it has relatively poor penetration for a 30mm apfsds. even warriors ***regular*** APDS has more pen.

Naval player here.Cas in naval isnt really a problem so maybe the firecrest is fine IF you fricking face an AA ferry,Firecrest is kinda good in bluewater fleet even though i dont even play that plane because low tier bluewater is the one with the least AA so you probably gonna havee a blast

And for the 262 A1a/U1, with the all the cannons in the nose, set different key bindings to each of the cannons. That way you have control over which cannon (specifically the 30mm) gets used for what. I always refer to the MK103 as the good 30mm. The MK108 is good for planes, nothing else.

If i may add, the F-5E CU should be in a tier above S though the reasoning is a little niche. In Sim battles, this thing is a literal god. Something not mentioned in the video is the RWR it has access too, being a NATO IFF RWR. For those unaware that means it tells you the plane type pinging you, so "F4" or "M2K" or "F14" etc. The advantage this gives you in the air Sim game mode against NATO planes in immeasurable. This alone essentially gives you absolute impunity to fly around the whole map with your radar off and able to sneak up on all enemies, tracking them with an insanely good RWR. With its ability to out perform every plane in its BR for flight performance and even punch up to 11.7 against the M2Ks... its incredible. Granted the RWR doesn't really serve a huge advantage other then ground RB for detecting incoming enemy planes and AAA, and in Sim. Though personally.... I'd give it S+

The single sim main has arrived. No seriously, that's awesome to hear and it's on my radar now. I love Sim, but I also love gimmicky/toy jet fighters like the 104, Buccaneer, and MiG-23BN. The lack of functional radar on two, and useless RWR on the MiG makes knowing what's up really hard.

@revolver265 hell yeah. I exclusively play high tier sim now and I can't recommend the F5E-CU enough. Pair the killer RWR with its python 3s and all aspect aim9P4s... it's a literal monster. 20-30 kill games are common after you really get used to it.

I used the Sea Harrier for grinding to British top planes. Due to the very good low speed thrust you can climb quite well and drop Aim-9Ls on low flying enemies that don´t see your missiles coming. I often got 2-3 kills right after the start of the match just because I launched missiles at the enemy base bombing train

I'd put the 262 in C or even B, as long as, like Zoltan says, you use your brain. The lead on MK 103 is so much better (obviously being the long gun), if you fly with your brain engaged, in turnfights you'll overcome the heavier nose of the Sq. 262 and get lots of lovely kills, aiming and firing these new 30mms at where the enemy will be in half a second - instead of shooting at where they'll be next week. Turn on vertical targeting and a high convergence distance and you've just pointed all the guns upwards, helping land the 20mms and short 30s as well. (head-ons are lovely too) Ground info is accurate. Excellent gun-cas thanks to HVAP in ground, and taking HVAP after an airfield rearm in Air RB means that one shot (two bullets) will flatten AI medium tanks.

I knew I saw this video somewhere! I was looking for it last 3 days cause I'm about to start my next research and couldn't find it, thought I was delusional

my first Squadron vehicle was the 262 and at first. i hated it it was clunky slow and i was constantly fighting things that i had zero way to counter. but now since its 7.3 it fits SEEMLESSLY into my 7.7 german lineup and ive done much better in ground RB working as a Semi-CAS/Anti-CAS role. and i have to say, its my best jet so far, and i own the F-4S

A-4E skyhawk is one of my favorite. cuz it's my first jet

object122mt is soo much fun its my top vehicle now i think ( mainly because i used it to grind a crafting event ) the vehicle itself is amazing and the atgms are a cherry on top

I actually feel that the 262 is very strong for air realistic, it gets an air spawn and can just about get on the same level as SU-11s, the cannons are a bit funny because you get 6 of them, they spread out a lot and they deal a lot of damage so all you have to do to get a kill is lead them in the rough direction and just spray, even if only 1 shell hits it will atleast crit the other guy and the flightmodel isnt even that bad as long as you avoid furballs and boom and zoom

4:15 example: M18 Hellcat, which gaijin reclassified it as a light tank for absolutely no reason

I grinded to top tier in the Hunter (and later Mig21 MF). It is THE BEST squadron plane for BR and equipment. Love it.

me262 a-1a/u1 is great for air RB in my opinion. when spaded you can do some decent maneuvers and avoid gunfire, but most importantly the guns here SHREAD anything it comes in contact with. a single well placed 30mm shot can oneshot a aircraft, and you got almost 300 shots of them. you can esally stack up kills with this aircraft

personal best 4 planes 5 tanks and 5 assists after I fully researched all of the equipment. I love the plane but only if you manage to carry the speed above 500kmh you can do decent things but if you drop under that you are done. Hit and run tactics work like a charm.

Use it in head-ons. It shreds anything, so you can basically get 2-3 kills at the very start of the game, and then do that again. Thus, you can grind events pretty fast

the a1/u1 is great in air rb, even if it is over br'd, the guns are great, and the airspawn lets you get alt on everyone else and dominate with basic energy fighting

minor error, the Swiss Hunter 58 has AIM-9Ps, not AIM-9Js. Its such a minor difference that it doesnt matter, but the Ps can be slaved to the radar so that can be useful

I love how the bmp-2m before was in 8.7

I flown with Harriers only in Sim Battles, there i feel the engine very efficient. You can go at 60 or 70% without loosing much speed.

Genuine hot take maybe, but i quite enjoy the firecrest. Back in the day, it was criminally over brd, at i think 3.3. Even then it had a pretty strong engine, but now at the lower br, the engine is very good, M3 .50s are very good with the higher fire rate and better damage, and it still turns fairly decently

I like the firecrest tbh, it’s great for strafing spaa due to the fire rate

If more tank destroyers got scouting, imagine, someday they fix Khrizantema S’s ground radar and its BMP3 hull hydraulic suspension, then add the scouting to it. Even its got from 9.7 to 11.0, even 11.7 after those buff, it still can do wonders

The Su-22 doesn’t have a targeting pod lol. Irl the pilot is just looking through their HUD and the pod only shoots the laser.

I've found the grenade launcher on the BMP-2M is great for clearing obstacles in your path, whether it be trees, fences/walls or a whole fuggin house lol

The 262 is a fantastic anti tank with the mk 103 ap rounds even after they were nerfed. The 20mm and the mk 108 30mm are also very punchy HE slinging threats to aircraft and opentops

I dunno I quite enjoy the Firecrest in Air RB, I can sometimes get away with 3-4 kills before having to reload

I just don't have the Magach, Abrams, Hunter and the F-5, good video BTW.

You forgot, for me a big advantage on the BMP-2M. Because it can lock onto enemy aircrafts and kill them with its main or just shoot one of its 8 ATGMs (4×2) which surprisingly hit quite well even onto moving planes if they don't manoeuvre that much. I know you just forgot to mention it but that's why I made this comment, to let others know it can lock onto enemy aircrafts.

YAH-64 doesn't have access to Stingers (sadly)

The BMP-2M was originally 8.7. brutal.

And we still have two nations without a squadron vehicle.

You can fix those glitched names by going in settings and unchecking the box which says enable custom localization

I haven’t had any issues one-tapping the bmp-2m so far with the m1a1 aim

Important note about the M901, since it is a M113 chassis and Gaijin hates it, it will struggle to go up most inclines your normal tanks might, keep that in mind too. (Also it should be W-E tier)

My friend who’s a Warthunder wiki moderator said the Firecrest actually has the wrong engine but I haven’t had the time to check that fact out yet…

The Hunter is great and I used it to grind out rank 5, 6 and partially seven

As an A10 player, I take offense to saying the Harrier is gonna make people upset with its speed. It's faster than I am. XD lmao, much love, great video.

I don't agree with the review on the Firecrest for air rb. With the airspawn, it can very often end up above the entire enemy team (other than bombers ofc). It also has the climbrate to do that (I find that keeping the climb speed above 260km/h IAS helps), it's pretty fast for a 2.3, and the flaps are pretty darn good. The guns are also alright, the M3s with tracer belts like to set things on fire.

I suffered enough with a stock A-4E in Air RB and I don't have a lineup for it in Ground RB... I'm grinding the BMP-2M

In naval arcade u can see what lineups a player used The squadron SKR 7 is often the only top tier vehicle a player have Imagine the majority of ground RB 10.0 matches with 3 Soviet players who spawn in the BMP2m, a bt5, and a kv1 (or only a BMP2m) That's basically the situation with the SKR7 bc ppl buy it so often

Is some of this vehicles recommended to use to research when you're like rank 3?

the agm-65d has an abysmal time locking and actually killing enemies so much so that i'd almost rather have manually guided bullpups

Personally i use me-262 in my 9.3 grb lineup and it shreds t-55,bmps sometimes even t-72 etc

i didnt know the su22m3 is not worth the grind... i wanted it as cas plane for my 10.0-10.3 lineup even though its 10.7... i will have it researched tomorrow and then i will research the german/swiss hunter

About the Russian apds-fs name, I think it’s actually how they call their shells. They basically call it APDS that is fin stabilised, when westerners typically say apfsds.
