Considering you included the Ram (which is not a sherman) into the tier list you should've included the M10 wolverine, and the M36/M36B2 since unlike the Ram they use the Sherman chassis (the Ram uses the M3 Lee/Grant chassis)...

The reason the Ram doesn't seem shermany is because it isn't. It's based on the M3 Lee (the designation is just missleading)

@@ObjectPe-iirc, it was based on the Lee but made by Australia (or Canada) as an interim equivalent while the M4 was being produced, so its designation is that of a Sherman cause it basically was their version of a Sherman. I can’t remember all the details cause I rarely grind America’s tech tree though

Fun fact: The M4A2 series was primarily used by the US Marines because it uses a unique diesel engine, which is useful since they largely cooperated with the Navy which used oil and diesel to fuel their ships. In fact, the Marines were extremely adamant in giving up their M4A2s when transitioning to the "Easy Eight" M4A3E8 at the war's end. This diesel engine also probably explains why the M4A2 is the only Sherman found in the Soviet Tech tree, due to Soviet tanks being based around diesel engines.

The army saw M4A2s expifically as an export variant of the Sherman. Due to this, the US army never used the M4A2 in Europe, while the UK and USSR made extensive use of it.

Well soviets didn't rely on diesel tanks only. T-40 (and all that 38's and etc) T-60 and T-70 light tanks and also first series T-34 and KV's and lots of others used petrol engines. TBH I didn't get why at the end M-17 t was swapped out with V2 diesel engine (because said diesel was heavier, more expensive to produce and wasn't better in any aspect and relied on GERMANS fuel system by Bosch which became a huge headache during the war.

@@RainShadow-yi3xr it's harder to ignite with open flames but when fuel tanks hit with AP or even API shell there's no difference between diesel and gas they both ignite well in such condition. And diesel fuel is harder to extinguish.

The ikea sherman's hull machinegunner is actually an assistant driver. All sherman hull machinegunners are assistant drivers, manning the machinegun is just a secondary role. But gaijin is affraid of the term "assistant driver", and they name every "other" crewman a machinegunner

I know I'm a bit late, but just to add more salt. Gaijin loves to sell it in limited quantities, all released on a single global time. Best hope you aren't at work or sleeping when they release it.

I'd also toss the T14 into special mentions. While technically it is its own separate thing it really is just a wide sherman, and it plays like a lower BR Jumbo.

@@Mystic-Midnight It's meaningless at 4.7. At 3.3. it isn't. It's unreliable, yes, but it can bounce off panicked shots from weak gunned enemies. And that's really all you need when you have a stabiliser and the enemy does not.

It's just a minor inconvienience but when he says that the M4A1 (76) W is the first moist tank in the list, when the M4A1 (75) W is also most. So it should be the M4A1 (75) W not M4A1 (75).

My favourite sherman is the Sherman firefly, that tank just has done me well. It keeps on kicking and doesn't complain. It takes out tiger H1's without too much of a kurfaffle and is actually one of the more pleasant gun platforms at that BR e.g. Avenger and Comet (bastards). Overall one of my most pleasant sherman experiences. 5.3 Jumbo was also my favourite thing to play for a while before it got moved up in BR, but jokes on gaijin, I was already playing it in my USA 5.7 lineup, and I STILL LOVE IT. It was the first tank I could play that could shrug off some of the german firepower and boy did I milk that thing for all it's worth, to this day it's still my most played tank.

I guess it’s just a matter of bias to how well we do in the vehicles, really. I mean I DESPISE the Firefly because it just can’t do the one job it was made to do (destroy tanks) at 4.7. It’s, in my opinion, one of the only vehicles that I will spawn in, immediately think ‘why did I waste spawn points on this?’ and then I will be guaranteed to not have fun.

I have the german sherman. I picked up both packs back in the day. My friends called me mad, but there was a idea behind the madness. Gajin allowed it into sim battles.... I played hundreds of matchs in sim in it, back where other nations other than allies, didnt have them. I got to fool sooo many people it was hilarious. I died more to friendlys that just had muscle memory to shoot rather than actual enemy players. It was really good times and a fond memories of mine.

I disagree on the Skink, Yes, it's completely overtiered (and went up even further recently), but it's one of the only SPAA that is able to survive most strafing runs. Granted, it's not the best SPAA, but far from the worst. Also, its hull MG actually works, which should put it in S tier regardless of anything else.

IMO the Tipo IC and VC are actually fairly decent as someone who's played them a lot as an italian main, although tbf they're the only fireflies I've played, but from what I can tell they aren't any less mobile than the equivalent IC and VC fireflies in any other tree the IC feels decently more mobile than the VC to me, being 4 or 5 tons less iirc, and at that BR cast hull or not you aren't stopping pretty much anything, so it really only makes a difference against autocannons. It also trades out the ammo rack in the hull next to the driver back for extra crew member, so it's back up to 5 crew rather than the 4 fireflies normally have, so it's actually MORE survivable in my experience Meanwhile the VC trades a bit of mobility, the extra crew member, and .3 BR, for the APDS, which is nice to have as a backup in case you run into anything really heavy or get uptiered, and tbh I find it can still do decent when used at a slightly higher tier due to the sabot

the italian VC APDS is very useful in uptiers as it can pen panthers and jumbos through the hull which the shot mk8 cannot do, rarely a one shot but if you aim on the right you'll always get gunner/driver and can finish it in a second shot

The sherman is one of the most tanks of all time

as a german main i love playing shermans , especially early ones because the armour is pretty good and you dont have to constantly think about angleing (ofc i know the sherman front armour is even better at a slight angle) my favourite sherman is the 105 sherman perfect counter to what i usually play.

@@wagonfixin Having increased vitality in the Shermans does (eventually) start making the crew survive much more bullshit, if nothing else, the driver and radio operator (so the tank can limp at the very least).

I actually got the Captured M4 Sherman when Gaijin made it briefly available to buy on the console stores, extremely fun machine and occasionally in realistic and sim battles when nobody is paying attention you find yourself in hilariously situations like when enemy Shermans think you're one of them

My current (RB) kill record is 15 Kills in the 3.3 M4A1, the 50cal and stabilized 75 go though pretty much anything, I would put it in S tier

Probably because I played it before solid shot got nerfed, but I loved the firefly, I found it to be the perfect balance of mobility, armour and firepower at its BR. Now it’s likely to be facing Panthers and Tigers more often it might struggle

i don't think that the 105 is the king anymore.. now with it moving up to 3.0 it gets uptierd to 3.7 a bit to much, where it becomes very meh, also using the gun is quite tricky at times because of the traverse but also because of the shells it fires, the HE and HEAT are not one shot killers on just about any medium or heavy tank and with the long reload that will get you killed quite often. Still great tho, insane armor for the br and great speed and manouverability (for beeing bacicly a heavy at 3.0)

I can understand it, low Br HEAT is so hit or miss, quite literally. Like you'll hit a lamp bracket on the enemy tank and suddenly the whole round has disappeared into the shadow realm. Couple that with a long reload, and terrible suspension that takes ages to stop the tank from rocking, you'd expect it to be a sniping tank. But the gun has really bad ballistics and the round will detonate on a random bush or fencepost. The only really good thing about it is the mantlet.

@Deuce_and_a_half The heat can comfortably 1-2 shot every tank it meets The ballistics? It's round is comparable in speed to an IS2 Survivability? Played hull down, you'll always survive getting shot at and the depression is quite good. M51 is easily one of the strongest machines at its BR

My favourite Sherman is the Trzyniec. It's the first tank I ace crewed. (The second being the tech tree firefly.) Can pen anything it faces frontally with the exception of maybe jagdpanzers. An Absolute monster with the turret traverse and reload speed.

The M51 is really fun to play and the HEAT shells can be a problem sometimes however 400MM of pen at any distance. Decent reload, turret traverse, mobility, and the protection can be ok.

the firefly at least for me has always been a monster. i continued using it until 6.7 when it got replaced by the tortoise. the 17 pounder for me has always been reliable even with apds on the Challenger.

The easy 8 sherman is still.my favorite. Think its the m4a3e8 hvss. That 76 mixed with a stabilizer and upgraded suspension is just a chefs kiss imo

Even with recent specials the FL10 isnt widely known either, so it's amazing to surprise lower mid BR players with a fast autoloader.

Zoltan the apds is basically a secondary munition, like HE, so take a few like 6-8 for those up tiers when you run into heavier armor the Mk.8 might not be able to work against.

I always find it questionable when good players play low br As a new player I want to learn the game and not be thrown in a pot with 10 lvl 100s and 4 lvl 5s

The good point about the apds for the tipo is the ballistics as well, so take a few for long range shots.

Sherman are very fun to play in especially 105 Sherman

15:00 can confirm, a Sheman hull once ate my 128mm AP at center mass

They recently upgraded the Italian m4 hybrid so it got much better front hull armor, even though it's cast and rounded. My favourite Sherman to play by now. Especially that it has a very effective Italian premium set up at the 3.7 br

M4A5 was just an american nameing system for Ram which is based on Grant tank which is M3 Lee

The monument on Normandy also works for the Germany kv-1 because it has some great turkey and frontal armor

It's funny how different the same equipment behaves for different players. Cause I find cast hull Shermans super survivable. So much so that I can regularly bounce panther 75's and tiger 88's. Another example is APDS; I get AMAZING results when they pen

20:00 the jumbo 76 i have been very recently getting up-tiered to 7.0 and sometimes 7.3 it's to the point where I refuse to play it now

One of ur old videos u brought up American thermals for drivers on the styker and Bradley it’s because of the dve(driver visibility equipment) I was a Stryker driver in the icvva1 variant Stryker it has black hot, white hot, regular gauges, temperature gauges, and regular camera vision The 1128 has the 105 but the one I drove had a 50 cal mount and mark 19 mount for the rws ( remote weapon system) with the control screen having multiple reticles thermals and joystick for the weapon a charging button but had to manually reload the weapon after 100 rounds of 50 or 50 of 40mm Thought u would like the information it’s mine and my little brother favorite vehicle and are grinding for it love the stryker

The Ram tank was built on a very old Sherman chassis. Originally named the Kangaroo, it actually didn’t come standard with a turret. It was an open-top personnel carrier. Used by Canadian ground forces during and even years after wwii.

This is why its so fun using the US tech tree at br 3 to 6. Have a problem? We have a sherman for that!

Yeah I’m quite a Sherman fan. Honestly if I had to pick a favourite Sherman, it’s either the M4 83 E2 76 so or the OK I got three actually the Sherman Pershing and the M4 8376 W.

“It’s got gun depression like a Russian tank.” So none then.

Hands down my favorite sherman is the 76 Jumbo, I was never a fan of it's BR increase but whenever I get tired of playing top tier I go down to 6.3 and remind the german mains why the Jumbo is at 6.3. Such a fun tank to play tbh.

The Soviet Sherman is great on maps where you can really use some gun depression. Its handy to have in the lineup. Still, my fav is the M4A1 at 3.3 BR.

my favorate sherman is the m4a4 sa50 because of that penetration and of course i used the m4a4 to research into rank 4 because its so nice for a 3.7 edit: i took it up to 6.7 with the amx 13 and amx m4 before i got the french m26 since it has the same gun as the amx i was able to kill quite a few enemies with it

my fav is split between m4a3 76 and T14 both are very nice looking and effective

I remember the German Sherman, back in the day when tanks first came out and I was genuinely intrigued with the game mode it was the only Sherman Oh how the game was different before it blew up

Honorable mention: M8A1 - The baby not-a-Sherman Just saying, if you take a Sherman cannon and stick it into a light tank... it's kind of a Sherman.

The French M4A1 with an auto loader is an absolute BEAST. I paired it with both EBRs and absolutely run lobbies.

If I had to pick a favorite non sherman sherman (a vehicle on a modified sherman chassis) I’d have to say it’s the Achilles mainly coz that 17 pounder at 3.3 is devastating

I think the m4a2 is a or a tier for me. With bushes and the track armor, you can almost play it as a heavy tank especially if you are angled to the right or left and are on a hill.

I frequently run the tech tree M51 and angle it. It is a menace, I have taken 4-6 shots with no damage while angling.

There was a Sherman you missed, the M4-T26. It is basically the US's equivilent to the Firefly, but with good depression, good turret protection, and APHE tho just like the Firefly, no stabilizer

I take the 105 sherman up to br 5.3-5.7, and by god it still puts in work.

When I play enlisted against Sherman’s I abuse weak spots on the Sherman like the left or right corner but I like to go left front corner with a Panzerfaust and one shot or two shot depending where the shaped charge goes

the US sherman lineup is really silly because right now there arent any shermans between BR 4 and 5

I did kill a Tiger II H with a Skink once. Our team got stomped and he for some reason sat in a building with me looking at our spawn. little did he know that the Skink has just enough pen to get through the turret ring under the bustle

My favorite is the M4A5 Ram. It has weirdly strong armor. Whenever I put bushes on the hull. Even Pak40s seem to have a hard time doing any damage. And the 57mm QF 6 Pdr has enough penetration to penetrate anything from 2.7 to 4.7. The only thing I dont like is this American 57mm doesn't have explosives like other american 57mms

My absolute favourite of the sherman go to the jumbo both the 75 and 76 variant funny enough i actually use more apcr for the 75 jumbo than aphe since it can front pen an unangled tiger and go through panther turret at close to mid range and the 76 variant are just a field day until you meet an is-3 then you scream and hide

yeah, i have the german sherman....as well as the t-34 prototype with the third headlight. been playing since closed beta. its probably the most fun german tank at the br tbh. because you dont face those german cannons.

I’d have my S tier be the FL10, M4A1 76 and the Jumbo 76. I’ve had my best games in the jumbo 76, it’s a menace. The M4A1 76 also has very trolly armor on the turret and upper hull which helps.

I got the M4 hybrid for free from the warbond Shop and I absolutely abused it to get through the first few ranks of italy.

As British man I am here to say they yes, we do have the water on the front of our tank so we can make tea 🫖, because all we must do is use the boiler to heat up the water and the tea bags are kept inside for good measures
