its long enf to me to realize i will stick with my psp go and buy vita and never buy any other psp. were planning to buy 2000 or 3000 plus the vita on anther point.

Thanks for video. I like that it’s long because I love watching stufff about the psp while I eat and do other stuff but most videos aren’t nearly as in depth and maybe like 3-10 minutes long

thanks for the video! convinced me to pick up a mystic silver 3000 model from japan solely to play crisis core but i’m sure i’ll grow my library. i already have an oled vita but, like you said, original hardware is the way to go

I would recommend getting the oled vita version to play psp games not only that but you'll also have the ability to play vita and ps1 games as well

I have a piano black 3000, unmodded. Somehow I love it more than the Vita

I just did the IPS LCD mod for a PSP 1000, the screen is amazing. Better looking than orignal and replacement 3000 screens. Highly recommended mod

Don't toss oem psp battery's take them apart and save the circuitboad from it!!! You can make them pandoras

Yes, for someone just buying Into the market it has to be a normal psp or vita. But once you have those the Go is really nice. I was surprised how much I like it for true on-the-go gaming. It’s rarely not in my pocket anymore

I got a 3000 and sold it cause of the blur lines. And the ghosting on the 2000 sucks. so I think a 1000 like how I had as a kid is a better choice the resolution is not too far off.

The 1000 only suffers from being a bit dim. Otherwise the build quality is very high. I’ve debated replacing the screen on my 1000

I prefer the PSP-2000 especially the White 1

How big of a micro SD card can you put in the adapter? Asking because this made me remember how much fun I had with my psp, and even though I have a vita (3 of them, black, silver, pink,) and a vita tv, I still kinda want one. So, I went on ebay while watching this and impulse bought a pink 3000 model from Japan. I need to know how many games I can put on it! And how hard it would be to put an ips screen on it, if that's even possible

256 should work in theory. I use a 128. It works fine. A bit slower to load than say a 64. Probably the sweet spot if you want large storage. If you go too large it will take forever to load. You can fit a LOT of game on it with 128, especially if you go retro. 256 would be like the entire library Also, as I note in the video, you can compress the iso file games. They become about 30% smaller with the level one compression. It won’t make much difference for non open world games losing time. So consider that option too! Enjoy

@@TechGuyBeau I have a 256 in my modded vita, but I threw everything onto that. NES, SNES, GB, GBA, Sega Genesis, PSOne, and PSP. I kinda just want to do the same, but without the PSone games, simply because of the lack of analog sticks and extra shoulder buttons.

I don’t know if you will see this message because this video is kind of old but I just wanted to let you know that you have the vitas labeled wrong in the video when you show the difference between them when you are showing them all play at the same time , you had the vita 1000 labeled over the vita 2000 in the video and 2000 vita over the 1000 vita lol sorry I love your videos and I’m not tryna hate or anything like that ,I just saw the video and thought it would be nice to just let you know you were confused or misplaced them in the video lol anyways hope you see this and have a great day fam 👍🏽💪🏼

I think the e version has no speakers, need headphones and display is probably worse, and no removable battery. Mine has a few scratches but u can live with it, especially after seeing a cracked friend's iPhone 11 £1000 phone I tried not to laugh. But the e psp does work well with the GPS, much better than the psp1000.

do the psp games peform the same as UMD when they are on hacked psp? is the psp technically emulating psp games on a psp?

The UMD discs will perform exactly the same as a UMD on a hacked system If you mean loading a game off a SD card vs a UMD, then the SD card is VASTLY superior in terms of load times (and of course battery life). SD card loading on modded psp > UMD

@@TechGuyBeau I'm asking how does this "hack" work. Is it emulation. Because in that case a lot of games could perform worse then if you just put in a UMD. But some could work perfectly fine or even better. That is why i am asking what your experience is? Like OutRun 2006 which is strangly hard to get a good FPS when emulated. And by performance i mean FPS mostly as well as load times.

Links are tough as they change. However for: psps- I use plastic covers by citigeeks or instin (available on eBay and sometimes Amazon). @@Mannyswanks Amazon has been good for me with SanDisk storage. You can always run a test of the storage upon obtaining it to ensure it’s legit But make sure it’s shipped and sold by Amazon I’ve also had no issue with Best Buy (FYI I’m Canadian so I use the Canadian versions of these sites)

100% !! I just recorded a video about playing emulation on tablets. Its not even comparable. Not to bash emulation on a tablet, as I totally love it.. but a true dedicated handheld is something else. Also you can emulate like crazy on a PSP. Even N64 works. I used to play exclusively on my shield k1. But I sold that and now use vita/psp/3ds. What a game changer (once you mod them).

@@TechGuyBeau yeah I don't even need to hack it either it has a healthy line of exclusives that still don't have ports I sadly can't say the same for the vita don't get me wrong it has some exclusives left like muramasa rebirth, uncharted golden abyss, etc etc it just that people are better off just waiting to see if they get ported not too long ago demon gaze 1 which was a vita exclusive is getting a ps4 and switch port

The Vita is sorta of a partial real hardware solution.

Yeah kinda. It plays the games natively via the virtual shop, so i consider it somewhat of a "native" PSP device. And the software natively supports button remapping and such, even on un-modded devices but yeah i get what you mean, is kind of a quasi-PSP solution.

@@TechGuyBeau Yes, but also the Vita has the PSP CPU and GPU, what it lacks is the Media Engine, which with Sony implementation they can get away with for retail games because it's use was limited to Sony libraries for official devs.

So, what can’t the psp 3000 emulate?

You can do ps1 and earlier. It won’t handle n64. So basically 16 bit consoles and prior + ps1

The 2000 is identical outside of screen. So no. The 1000 is actually a bit worse for emulation as has a little less ram. In the end they all perform the same

@@NTNSLUVMNZUHVNTSCRD it’s not, if anything it’s at a disadvantage (less ram). But really it doesn’t matter. Psp1000 best build quality. Heavy, not great screen Psp2000 lighter, mid tier build quality. Better screen. Bluish hue. Might have some ghosting issues Psp3000 identical to psp2000 in form. Screen is a bit warmer. Screen design doesn’t create ghosting, but has scan lines. My favourite from the basic models Psp go has a totally different form. The negative is no ability to install a sd card, you must rely on internal storage and memory card
