Looking at 2023 slim 5 the ryzen 5 version is 900$ but comes with 144hz screen which is as far a i know worse than 165hz which makes me worried Still idk if its worth to go for 1080$ for ryzen 7 and 165hz screen also still before tax

Could the S15 OLED with the same CPU but no GPU yield better results in thermals and fan noise ? It's at 959€ right now (~1040 USD) (i9 13900H / 16GB DDR4 / 1TB NVMe / Intel Iris Xe iGPU).
turn down the resolution to like 1080 p at that screen size u wont notice a diffrence also and ull get much closer to 70 fps in nearly all games

No. They will perform basically the same due to thermal constraint. Just get the 14700

I have the 2024 G4 review coming. But it’s not much of a contest, it’s vastly inferior to the G14 2023, and Lenovo Legion 14 inch in terms of performance. The 2024 model is more like a MacBook with a low watt GPU in it and weak cooling

Unpopular opinion, but if a laptop comes with at least 32gb of ram, upgradeable & expandable storage is more important than upgradeable memory. Especially if the ram is already really fast due to be soldered. But like you said, there's ALWAYS a sacrifice. I personally wouldn't buy a laptop without a 2nd ssd slot. If you can get the 16" AI Studio in for review, I think that's the more compelling device.
Great video! I know I'm a bit late to the party, I'd like to do a full replacement of thermal pads on the heatsink when I do this mod as well. It looks like they are all either 1mm or .5mm from what you saw. I can't find sizing anywhere else and wasn't sure if your opinion changed. Thanks!
Strange.. laptop manufacturer still produce intel laptops. I guess these companys doesnt know the difference in nanometers. The problem isnt that its intel, the problem is intel that they dont focus on newer smaller production of cpus. I just think intel cpu user deserve only performance cores which are very efficient also. Lower watt, so these can be high overclocked or just be fast and also efficient. AMD soon hit 3nm... intel is at 7nm. Its not just a 2 year gap, its 4 years difference in nanometer production. Good that most people dont know much, otherwise intels market share would be now 20% instead of 70% - which would end bad for intel.

Got mine 5 days ago. Read all about it prior to purchase, but man this thing can get really hot when under load, at least initially. A good stand with ample space around is a must. I had mine clean without any bloatware and after installing w11 pro and delicate tweaking in custom mode it hits the following in cinebench r24: Multi - core: 1508 Single - core: 131 It throttles initialy as mentioned in the video but for this chassis and spec, sustained 95W Total Package - I consider those good results. With a little bit of advanced undervolting cooling could take more beating, maybe even sustained 105W.

in my country i can only find the legion i want with a ryzen 7 7840HS paired with a 4060 ( i wanted to get the one with a 4070) , should i go for the one with 4060? is there a big difference betwen the two cards in terms of performance? The only laptop i found with a 4070 is an TUF F15 .
