The PSP Model You (Probably) Don't Know About. | PSP Street / PSP - E1000
Ойындар
There's a PSP model out there that I bet a lot of people either didn't know about, or they simply forgot Sony released this thing. It's the E1000, or as Sony called it, the PSP Street. An entry level budget PSP with no Wi-Fi, microphone, brightness switch, video out, or glossy plastics. All for the very low ask of 99 Euro. So, let's take a look at these quirky PSP's! We'll play with them, judge them, pinch their cheeks, maybe even spin them a yarn or two. Yeah, that sounds nice. (:

This is the only model PSP I've ever owned. Sunk a lot of time into playing them, but always felt shafted by the lack of features compared to earlier models. However I think it feels better to hold than the older models. Still had plenty of great times though

The PSP model that allowed you to hook up to your TV was the best added feature Sony ever did for these handhelds. 🤩

@@PSVitaat2am so the PSP Go? you can hook it up to TV and since it has Bluetooth you can use a PS3 controller, it even had a Craddle accessory that would charge it while it connect to TV, basically like Switch, so cool but I know older models could technically connect to TV but just not as good.

The psp will forever hold a special place in my life. When I got one in 2006 I was only a 6th grader but the psp was my first introduction to online multiplayer with others. Medal Of Honor Heros supported 32 players in a match and was truly legendary for 2006. I remember playing endless hours of that game online. A year later I would ultimately get Xbox Live for Christmas and halo 3 would take over my friends & I’s lives but the psp got my online multiplayer foot wet first. I miss those handheld days.

I was in the exact same boat. Had an OG Xbox but no Xbox Live, and the only game our computer could play at the time in 2006 was Runescape (which was pretty fun, to be fair). Aside from Runescape, the PSP was my first real foray into online games. I sunk so many hours into Medal of Honor, god knows how much time into Little Big Planet for the PSP, Phantasy Star, and eventually Fat Princess when it got ported over. The PSP really came out at the perfect time. Wifi was pretty commonplace, but smartphones weren't a thing yet. Just being able to browse the Internet somewhere without a laptop was so novel at the time. Hell I remember using forums with chatrooms on them, and they somehow ran just fine on a PSP. It was all pretty cool.

I owned all PSP models except PSPGo but this Street Model is my favourite to replay classic PSP games on! I love the simplicity of it and that fingerprint free matt finish reminds me of my beloved PS2 & PS3 Slim console. I still play my PSP Street on a daily basis and bring it with me on journeys. I always wished they released a VITA with this Matt black finish

@@DhruvGamer77 Consoles and PCs are separate entities that utilise their hardware very differently an example of this would be that usually consoles will play on 30 FPS but utilise cleaver tricks, tricking the user thinking that the game is played at a higher framerate also consoles lack moding capabilities due to the fact that they are locked down to the OS that the company (SONY or Microsoft or Nintendo) developed. This can be good and bad. Pros of having a locked down OS is that hacking in games is harder to accomplish although not imposable, the CONS of such a system is that you can be locked out of some games that you may want to play, PCs don't have to deal with this issue as much.

I did actually forget all about this model! Great video. The machine looks great despite the cutbacks.
This was my first introduction to PSP. It inspired me to start a collection. Now I have the PSP Go and 1000. Working on getting the 2000 and the 3000.
I bought the Charcoal black model in 2013 in the Czech republic, still works, I have the original box with charger and a case! Great piece of technology.

Nice video 😊 I remember that. Fortunately i bought my "pearl white" PSP-3000 back in 2009. So i can continue to enjoy my games on a big screen by connecting the console via RGB cables.
when i had the psp 3000 my cousin got the psp street and i was jealous because the look of it was so cool, i loved it, little i knew , noticed fast that it didn't have wlan, and that was the worst about it , at the time actuall wifi wasn't a dealbreaker at all , but the option to play along with friends at the same place was
This by far my favorite PSP model. I really wanted to get into PSP but hated playing on the original models, they felt clunky, all the model screens had seperate issues and it was uncomfortable to hold. I was about to give up on PSP but then got to hold a street and instantly fell in love with it. I know love the PSP and have this little guy to thank for it. One of my favorite handheld consoles of all time

The Street is the thickest and heaviest model, yet you say the other models felt ' clunky'. 😂
OMG the PSP Street! That was my first ever Playstation console I have so many fond memory of it! (Mostly KH BBS and Project DIVA) I honestly really enjoyed that "stripped down" look, it looked very clean and minimal.
This made a great companion to the PS Vita, something to play UMDs and take out and about without the fear of losing or breaking it. All the missing features (e.g. ps store, online play) didn't matter as I had them on the Vita. A few more things that were great about the E1000: Power switch was not on the side so less discomfort/ accidental trigger. Led's on the top so they don't distract when viewing screen in the dark, in my experience good battery life and easy access to memory card (my psp had to share a memory stick with my camera back in the day so this was useful...)

This model was very popular here in Portugal
Nice to see and check out. When it comes to PSP, my favorite has to be the 3000.
Funny enough, it's because of this model, the PSP became really popular where i live, because of the cheaper price and games being cheaper, it really boomed in sales, that's why everyone i know that had or has a PSP had this model and that generally due to the fact that around these parts, consoles are always at its most popular at the end of its lifecycle and when the new consoles comes out, because consoles at its cheapest. i was one of the few people i knew of, that had one of the older models before most kids couldn't even dream of having one.

Similar experience here, I got a PSP-1000 in 2007 when I was in 5th/6th class on Gymnasium (up to 4th we got only elementary/primary school) and after that we got three basic types of school in Germany, Gymnasium is the highest (only one where you can get Abitur what is needed for University), Realschule is the midrange and Hauptschule is the low-end. It's historically grown and rather unfair, so in the last two decades we got an increasing number of Gesamtschulen (integrated schools) which include all three. Long story short though I was on the "best" type of school most students had a DS because I guess it costed just 150€ while the PSP was for 250€ back then.
I didn't know about this model until I purchased a new PSP around 10 years back, thought it looked a tad different and to my surprise, yeah - different model. A lot of fond memories on the PSP!
I was just thinking about the PSP yesterday haha. Looking forward to the video!
So much nostalgic memories watching this, had the glossy 3000 model 🔥🔥
I had an original psp1000, got it when the 2000 was new as a gift from my dad. I didn't live in an area with DSL at the time so no online until years later, almost EOL, but I played a ton of midnight club 3 dub edition, and socom. It's nostalgic for me and the main driver for having a vita today with cfw. Adrenaline is giving me, and now my young son, the games that I played when I was a little guy.
This one was pretty popular here in India. I have so many fond memories with it. Good old days.
I always wanted one of these! Probably the ideal way to experience old PSP games nowadays.

I'm going to try and find a white model of this one. I'm in the US so might be hard but I'm sure it's possible
I have this one. Playing it even nowadays. I am also planning to get Vita since never owned that one.
I remember first time seeing the ad on TV about this PSP. There was a lot of marketing for it.
I remember when this came out, it was super cheap, as were the greatest hits games. It was such good value. I didn't need one then as I had a 2000 and a Go at that point. I've owned one second hand since and I have to say it was quite nice. Screen was one of the best, not as many colours as 3000, but no scanline issues either. As crisp as the Go's, but bigger and better on the eyes. The build quality was pretty nice too coming mostly from playing on a slimmer model, felt better in the hands and more solidly built. Buttons were more clicky than mushy like earlier models too. Would've kept it if not for no battery access (prefer the ability to be able to change them), no wi-fi and mono speaker (can do stereo by headphones though!). If those things don't bother you and you find one cheap, go for it. Great little device to play some forgotten games from really great Playstation IP and relive Sony's great handheld period. I'd highly recommend the Syphon Filter's, Medievil Resurrection and Twisted Metal Head On if you've been a fan since PS1 like I have.
I live in Europe and I remember everyone suddenly getting a PSP Street, because of how cheap it was and how easy it was to pirate. I don't know why you assume people probably don't know it exists, when in reality only US Americans won't know about it.
I picked up a brand new E1000 at Big W for $50 in 2014 when they were getting rid of all their PSP stuff.
Yessir, been collecting my PSPs recently. Had my stolen back when I was a kid now I got 3 out of 5. Finna hunt down the PSPgo & the E1000.

I actually bought one back then, it also was my first ever PSP and honestly I didn’t need more than the Street. The lack of WiFi never bugged me personally, all I cared about was it being able to let me play games. I still have it too and still use it. Really enjoy using it to this day.
i had one of those couple of years ago, recently bought one with Motorstorm and Ridge Racer for 43 euro, love it
When my 3000 got it's back ripped off by my younger brother I got this and honestly loved it. I modded it as you kinda do with psps at this point and it was so so fun. Hated the start and select buttons being so squishy though.
That PSP is actually pretty sleek and almost ahead of its time designwise. No wifi would've been a dealbreaker though kind of like the Wii Mini. Good video and interesting hardware none the less.

Got my one as a kid. I still have it in good condition.
Actually the PSP 1000-3000 series all had very dramatic hardware revisions, the screens being one of the three primary points. Between the 1000 vs the 2xxx or 3xxx, GO and Street (e1000) there was a specific revision regarding increased memory for the ram from 32MB to 64MB, and each new model of PSP having an alternative screen panel which increased it's max brightness. 3000 had a wider color range, and e1000 had a very badly calibrated screen (colors are washed out at max brightness). From 1xxx to the second and third models, the UMD drive was altered from a spring based hook/latch based system to a manual lid style that required you to pull the cover off.
Great video. Pretty cool, makes me wonder if works on NTSC or is that doesn't matter with the PSP.

That's crazy that Monday April 1st '2024 is the first time I've ever heard of a PSP Street and I'm a hard core gamer, looks like I'm on the hunt now,🤣😁🎮✌️
This was the only psp I ever had :,)
Used to have one of these back in the day (white model), only game disc I bought was Burnout Legends, in general I was a filthy pirate and used lots of homebrew stuff on it, played trough Pokemon Fire Red on it. Left it at a girls house whom with things ended on bad terms and never got it back . Haven't seen these things going around second hand in a very long time, but
I knew of existence of this model because I saw them around in shops but never picked one up because some shops still carried 3000 models at the same price making once question the need and reasons of price cutting the PSP so late in it's life cycle. On top of that all the features lost over 3000 model made me pick up a 3000 over a Street that definitely was a choice given to me by few shops but the cut features especially lack of wifi and my goal to homebrew and play games with friends like monster hunter Tri over PS3 link/relay software and more. I am happy there is this to chronicle the model where I get any better look at the thing not just the box on store shelf but I still question any reason to release this model, and in such limited manner, like maybe european taxation made it more worth it to cost reduce the device while other regions sony was fine just dropping the price of still manufactured 3000. It makes me think of the Canadian/European exclusive Mini Wii and they WERE around also in store shelves here in finland so definitely some PAL mini Wiis out there not just canadian ones that was said by some people. Really hard logic for normal gamers to understand versus whatever the behind the scenes reasonings were.
