A friend has a rottweiler who knows me like family. One day I went to my friends house and heard the barking of what anyone else would think is a hellhound. I simple knocked on the door and yell, "Calm down Dutch, it's just me!" as soon as I opened the door, I saw him sitting on the floor, little stubby tail wagging and the biggest dumbest smile on his face.

If raised properly they are, they get their reputation from terrible owners. But it's slowly changing.

People are scared of them but Rotweiler are a precious gift of Mother Nature. Greetings from Rome Italy

I sadly lost my big black bear Benson 2 weeks ago today. My heart bleeds. He was the most loving, kind, playful softie you could ever hope for. Absolutely wonderful around kids and other people and dogs, not cats so much! He was an ambassador for the breed! He's back home now, thankfully, so at least I can still talk to him. I do miss him. He touched so many peoples lives. He made it to 14 happy years so, as the adage goes, a very good innings! God bless you Benny Boy, love from us all xxx

My girl I had could flatten a car tire that was still on the car lol

Unfortunately I had to put my beautiful girl to sleep yesterday due to cancer 😢 She was always so loyal, just looking for attention and belly rubs. I will miss her so much 😭 Rotties are such gorgeous animals and I feel privileged to have had her in my life..

Forty years ago I brought my wife and two year old son to see the most beautiful guard dog I found in the liquor store around the corner from where we were moving in . My son took one look at this 140 Lb. Rottweilers and THREW himself on him . Victor looked up with out even flinching , looked at my son with the expression of , Oh one of those , and went back to sleep. I always wished we could have had a pup of his blood line .

I find it so funny sometimes when people automatically assume Rottweilers are vicious, ferocious beasts when in fact they are one of the most friendly, loving and adorable dog breeds. And very loyal to their family, especially kids. I would rather have a Rottie instead of a Cocker Spaniel... They, Spaniels have had more bite attacks recorded than Rotties!! Just like most Pitties are wonderful family members, but because some gangbangers and other idiots train them to be vicious jackasses, the rest of the world think that every Pitbull they come across is going to try and rip their throats out... Oh well, people are funny sometimes, and not in a haha way either...

With them being bit strong dogs, idiots like to use them for stupid reasons. Our big girl was found under weight roamimg the streets. When we got her she was treated like a queen. My parents didnt want a dog but within a week she was their baby

I think its just they're overprotective or people don't know how to handle dogs. I'm not afraid of dogs tho so I wouldn't know about the latter to need to look into dog behavior for my best interest or others. I just know enough to not judge a book by its cover. I remember reading somewhere that dogs defend their pack n I think rottys are probably only falling victim to that because they're probably overprotective. If dogs like hounds have been bred to bark then it only makes sense that other traits like agression can be bred into a dog too and that's not something you can easily undo in a dog. It's no secret either that rottys in the past have been bred to be attack dogs its unfortunately a trait for some of them now that was probably carried from their previous generations. Just be a good owner is really all that can be done. Used to have a pitbull n she was a sweetheart but I wont pretend that she could still just uncharacteristically act out

I have had my Rottweiler now 2 years I rescued her however I believe she rescued me. I have had many dogs but she is the best dog ever. Watching this video is like living with her for a week

Smartest, sweetest, gentlest & most human dog I've ever had. I miss my Harley Ann but I'm thankful I had her in my life.

The biggest kitty cat I ever knew was a Rottweiler. Not only was she a beauty, she was really smart.

I absolutely love rotties! I even still have a rottwieler plushie from when I was a baby! I had two in my 20 years on this planet, and I see me with many more in the future!

We had a party at our 7 acre property and one of the guests was a Veterinarian and was a bit wary of Rotties. my Rottweiler had never seen children before but within a few minutes the little girls were leading Bruce around the paddock. Eventually he had enough and sat and would not budge. The cute little girl turned to her father and said” Daddy, can you get this Rottweiler started?”

We’ve had 3 different rotties over a 25 year period, and my blood boils when people talk about how mean they are. If they are mean it’s because they made them that way by mistreating them. Ours loved cats, children and would lay at the feet of my aged mom for hours. I have a picture of my 1 year old male Rottweiler letting two kittens try to nurse on him!😂 I nearly died laughing so hard

@@gatlingoodman9772 yes, first and foremost is that you have to teach them to respect you, you are the alpha dog, so to speak. That coupled with a lot of attention, and love and affection, and they will thrive. When they are new puppies you can train them right away to not guard their food, make them sit until you give it to them, and even take the dish away for 30 seconds or so, then give it back. Also put your hands in the food dish while they are eating, and put your fingers in their ears, open up their mouth and put your fingers in their mouth. If they play bite, just make a sound that shows that it isn’t acceptable. It can take a while for them to get the picture. I did that with all three rotties, and they never guarded their food, or threatened to bite. They were good at the vet too, because you played with their ears and mouth. One of my big male Rottweilers would actually lay on his back on the floor so the vet could get down and hug him! when the vet came in

Having a dog or any pet is great. You cry or get full when they are so small and depend on you. Then live with them and play. Then inevitably comes the time when you have to say good bye. I miss my Jindo, named Boki. I saved her from one of the nastiest cold weather events in NY in 2003 and she gave me so much more back. But came the day when I had to put her down. Broke my heart.

That’s just what I was thinking. They do have empathy.

The kind of dog any breed will develop into, depends on the owner of the dog. Some breeds requires more training and an experienced owner. Rotties are one of my fav breeds of all time. They are loyal, caretaking and protective dogs with a big heart. Simply love them!

i was seperated from my old dog, got him as a puppy when i was 10 and only had him for a year. he had grown so much. my parents are divorced and i went to live with my dad, when my mum said she couldnt take care of him my dad denied to keep him ( he hates animals ) so we had to give the dog to my mums ex bf. it has been 6 years now and i still cry to this day when i think about him because he was my best friend and i love him so much and miss him.

I've got a very large Boerboel and when he's playing with the Rottie from a few houses down the street you best get out the way. It's like watching two bears running around and no matter what one of em has got (like a stick or one of their toys) the other one has to have it. I can watch them run around for hours.

When I was a kid our neighbour had a rottie mix that made me fear this breed, he was many times out in the street barking and grwoling at people, sometimes even chasing them. Sometimes I had to roar at him like crazy to prevent him from getting closer and biting me. It's nice to see this breed in a better light now.

Lost my Rottweiler Zeek (the zeeketh, Mr Zeekems) just recently..it was always just me and him and the way some of these dogs act reminds me of him..miss my bestfriend so much..he was a little over 8 years old and died during his walk at the park and I had to carry him through a field to my brothers car 💔
