Nope, its not scared, that breed is guardian, thats why it just dont sleep all day like most breeds would, it`s alert and i would hate to be person that goes there without owners. That cage and claw marks on bedroom door just ad up, if you can`t train your dog, don`t put in small cage in night, just build nice big outside enclosure for it, yep and it would enjoy it when you are out of house.

It's the saddest noise to hear for me cause a dog makes that noise after they can't do anything else and that's all they can do. My neighbors Rotty constantly jumps the fence to my house and spends the day at my place playing with my dogs, even after his owner comes back I’m still the one who needs to take him back because he doesn’t leave on his own. Love dogs

My dog actually enjoyed watching new york 1 news when i left. I found that he often roamed around my room and sat looking at the tv on the bed. He also bites my teddy bear but didnt play with it when i was there. Only when i was away. Also he probably liked the sounds the ny1 channel made i think. Real attentive at the sounds of the changing news segments. It pleased him.

Yeah its really pure desparation. I learned that my Dog would act much calmer when i leave the Radio or TV on for him. IT really isnt that hard- Not to shut everything down and possibly also let a dog wait in the dark. The get frightend by silence and darkness too.

This is the reason I take my dog with me everywhere I go, every fking where..

This made me feel so guilty for leaving my dogs, ever. This is why I take them on road trips instead of flying when I need to travel.

I literally teared when you two left and he ran to the window looking outside. This whole thing, him just walking aimlessly around the house and crying. I'm actually crying 😢

it‘s because they left their dog with exitment. I always just close the door and don‘t pay any attention to me leaving. So my dog can be calm. I also don‘t pay any attention to her when I get back. Like it‘s not a thing that I‘m gone.

Jeebus calm down people. This dog has some separation anxiety, but don't attack these people that clearly love their pooch. And even then, HE WAS FINE after a while of then being gone. Not every dog had anxiety, our dog goes and takes a nap whenever we leave. Lord.

I have two dogs just for this reason. Hell when I come home, they are sound asleep on the couch or bed and don't even great me, they are chill. Meanwhile someone other than me gets near the house, its on.

Poor baby.....I had a rottie-girl who I adopted and fell madly in love with when she was 3. Her WORST fear in life, was me leaving to run a necessary errand! She never got over that. I do believe that all rotts are HOGS!!! When I first adopted her (a couple weeks in), I brought home 2 pizzas for dinner. I went to put the laundry away away (about 3 minutes) and in that time she'd grabbed and eaten 1 large pizza, and hid the other--sans the box)under the leather sofa. Pizza sauce smeared all over her face. She passed away from cancer Aug 20, 2019 and I am still so broken hearted. I will always have such a soft spot for rotties!!!! I wish I could love on this guy for awhile ....

@Yvonne Breezy We've got a female Rottie at the house. She's great with my kid cousin aged 5-9 since we've gotten her as a pup. They're very much guardians of the pack - sweet as can be to those they know and trust, but any strangers that come near/in the house she will try to scare off or be aggressive towards, and it takes a few times for her to get used to someone new, like a friend coming over. Though usually if we show her they're alright and let them give her a treat, she gets the hint and settles down. If you do end up getting one, my biggest advice is to socialize them and train them as much as you can, especially at a young age. Take them to a dog park, and if you can afford it, find a good trainer. They can be a handful I hear if they aren't trained well early, but thankfully she's well trained and listens very well. They can also get a bit aggressive with other dogs, especially near the house, unless they're part of the pack or they've been well socialized at dog parks. They're an awesome breed, but they do take a lot of time and effort early on, because once they get big aint nobody bossing them around otherwise. Hope any of this helps! Edit - Oh, and one more thing - males and females do have temperament and size differences. I haven't had any male rotties so I cant compare, but I hear females are a bit more docile than the males, and her head and body mess is definitely smaller than we expected. She's got a slimmer head than the massive adorable fatheads that male rotties can get.

My family had a Rottweiler when I was growing up. She was a great dog, they appear viscous, but they're actually gentle. Plus they're great with kids, intelligent, loyal and great protectors.

The panting & especially the howling is separation anxiety. He is calling you. My Rottie used to do it as well until we got another dog, then he only did it if somebody took her out without him.

Mine have access to the backyard when we leave, they don't feel so anxious or break things inside the house thanks to that. The owners could leave an open window or something for him to smell and see what happens outside, that relaxes them; but that place is dark, small and closed, not weird that he feels trapped there.

Some disappointing comments here. Bunch of peoples who think they know better. Maybe no toys are out for his safety, maybe there is a water bowl. Maybe they left the toilet open to see if he’d drink it. Maybe he can’t have a dog friend for safety reasons, or they can’t afford one. Thank you owners for taking in and loving your big buddy 💚

why is everyone bashing the owners? like the dog has multiple comfy spots he can lay, he probably has a water bowl he just prefers drinking from the toilet. a lot of dogs are like that. &’ he probably has toys aswell he’s just not playing with them. y’all don’t realize this is basically exactly what every other dog does when their owner leaves? cmon guys the dog is fine.

keep the tv or radio on for him while you’re away so it’s not dead silent in the house! it can cause anxiety for a dog! also lay out some toys for him to chew on while he’s bored

I like the subtitles for the video plus i love how those dogs can grasp these types of things like humans. I also wanna point out how sad it is too see a dog being left alone in a house and waiting for their owner to come back. They get depressed. And when they get depressed that's when you know that these dogs love their families so much that they never want to let you leave

I remember one night, I saw My dog drinking from the toilet at night time, and I said to Her quietly... "Kara, are You drinking from toilet? Go back to bed!", and I was hoping that the toilet was flushed, and as a bonus, the toilet was recently cleaned, and I was like thanking God out of relief when I asked Mummy!!! 😅😅😅

seriously People got mad because the dog drank out of toilet. umm do they realize dogs lick their butts and other regions. They eat garbage and will eat pretty much anything. INcluding raw meat. I really think people are starting to think Dogs are Human, As long as the toilet does not have the cleaner that stays inside bowl at every flush then it is fine. Thomas Bommer You are so right about the quality of the water which is so sad. Nasty stuff brought back the memory of my two foster puppies i had. I was horrified that they were eating their poop. My mentor at the rescue told me why..which made perfect sense. Then i got my introduction to worms. I was lucky because one lady took in a pregnant momma and looked after her and pups when born. Lets say I didn't want spaghetti for a long long time.

I like when he looks around the house to see everything is ok like patrolling. I feel bad when he is left alone and was like why you leave me alone. Funny part when he drinks from the toilet. At least some dogs like toilet water. Close the lids folks before you leave home. He's smart for open his cage.

Oh he's adorable! I have a rottie as well and he's such a softie! Every time i leave the house, i can hear him howling down the street!

A lot of people are mad about the toilet water. The toilet/water is clean. its the same water from the faucet. But I get it, it is the toilet, and I wouldn't wanna drink from that either. After watching this, it really made me conscious about dogs being pack animals. I mean we know, but this makes it real for us. Now I'm thinking, if an owner needs to leave their dog alone for more than a few hours a day, they should have another dog for the company.

So Caesar Milan said go through a ritual to let the dog know you are leaving so they won't look for you. I no longer walk out the door w/ my dog standing there watching me. She knows when I'm leaving by my work uniform and we start the separation process. 1. Outside go potty. 2. two milk bones 3. Carry the milk bones to your spot and stay. I don't say bye. If she tries to follow me I say "No, go lay down" and she knows then, she's not coming. She walks away to her bed, I follow her and tell her "No," to convey she's not coming, and "Stay:" to convey I'm leaving and again, you're not coming. She chills out and settles in. You guys are great pet parents, maybe a good bye ritual with you BEAUTIFUL Rotty, will help him chill out a bit more while you're gone.
