Went into this vid thinking this stuff would be pretty trashy armor and left pretty impressed. Gonna have to reccomend to my dad. Hes been jumping on the prime deals and psa sales from me telling him about them. Thanks man. Every oz of value we can get nowadays goes toward the prep that much more.

That crate is a pretty good representation of ribs... I guarantee the deformation from Kevlar would have busted up that crate.

You should check out Tactical Scorpion. They have some of the best prices I've seen anywhere and do a wide variety of armor.

My level 4s were not much more but come in at about 5lbs each, but those stop everything aside from a nuke. I'd go that route or with soft 3a that can be tucked in a shirt without the need for a crazy plate carrier, different tools for different jobs.

Wait body armor plates have gotten that bad now that 3A at 100-150 is budget ? (each too?!?!) makes me wonder what my current 3A+/4A costs being I paid 350-400 for Carrier front/back plates and side plates, all 4A/3A+ depending what you consider stopping 30-06. also on my vest I got a "Straight Outta Kekistan" velcro piece added for memes sake.

Problem for me is that it's only comes in 9×12 inch. It's less concealable than soft armor and if you're gonna wear armor people can see, might as well wear my plate carrier with lvl4 armor. If you're a big guy and you can conceal this, then I would recommend.

The sense in 3A is that 1) 90% of shootings in this country still involve handguns and 2) Unlike rifle plates, you can actually wear 3A all day, which means you'll have it on when a threat arrives. Nobody in normal civilian environments can wear Level IV rigs all day every day, both due to fatigue and the fact that you will draw a LOT of unwanted attention to yourself. Unless you work in certain high risk environments like law enforcement, war zones or some other violent profession, you're not going to have that armor on or even have any real idea when to put it on for the very low-probability events which you won't see coming. Nothing against hard armor. It's fine to have a set for "SHTF", whatever that means to you, but it's just not going to play a role in keeping most people safe for the real world threats most people face. I don't see a whole lot of advantages to a hard 3A plate. It's cheap, sure, but it's also less wearable than soft armor and doesn't provide any side protection and probably isn't too concealable. The one potential role I see for hard 3A plates is that you could pop them in a soft armor carrier as additional protection against stabbing or blunt force attacks. I'm not sure they're rated for that, but UHMWPE is going to be somewhat tough to get a blade through and could help disperse the force of a fist or blunt weapon.

Basically the point is to protect vital organs from projectiles that could end and /or alter your life.... GTA has absolutely nothing to do with a right to own arms...armor is also condsidered arms... as in the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed....

Thanks for sharing the deal. But I don’t see why someone would want “hard” armor that doesn’t protect from rifle rounds… plate carrier and all that jazz just to stop a crack head from tapping you with a 22 or 9?… seems like a lot of bulk and expense for limited protection.

Get your hands on tacticons stand alone UHMWPE plate. I've got a pair of the lws600s but am tempted to grab that UHMWPE plate to throw in the front or a carrier for my girl with it being less than 4 lbs
