The USA was constantly at war for 30 years. Our troops have spent more time in combat than any Ukrainian has. Ukrainians are not special. They are not fast learners. They are normal people. In this case, poorly trained conscripts lead by inept officers fighting a much larger army of poorly trained conscripts led by inept officers.

There are enough videos of volunteer women on the frontlines in the trenches and enough were picking up weapons during the battle for Kyiv . They are not conscripted yet and its good having people to be in factories so Ukraine can still function as a country.

That's what happens when imperialists in the West fight a proxy war using the lives of people they value less than the lives of their own soldiers. Imagine how many lives and infrastructure would have been saved if Ukraine had just decided to remain neutral and focus on improving the lives of their people. Now, they are stuck in a war with a military power and with no end in sight because no side wants to appear weak. Sadly, it seems the darkest days in this war are yet to come. Leaving your family and loved ones to go and almost certainly die in a war that could and should have been avoided is the worst feeling any of those conscripts could get. We live in a world that has gone mad.

They didn't push the boundaries of NATO. This all started when the Ukrainian people in general wanted their association agreement with the EU, and kicked out the Yanukovich government when it used violence to quash the demonstrations in Maidan in 2013-2014. At that time, only 20%-25% of Ukrainians wanted NATO membership, but when Russia started carving off Crimea and the Donbas from the rest of Ukraine, naturally the desire for a military alliance jumped dramatically. Blame Putin for Ukraine's interest in NATO.

The reality is that if there is a lot of dude like that in the Ukrainian ranks the will totally ineffective because they don’t want to fight and at the first sign of danger the'll run away or surrender to the Russians. I don't blame him on the contrary I feel sorry for him. The man just wants to be there to raise his son. Someone like that shouldn’t been send to the front because they’ll just be more trouble than help.

Zelensky should realise by now that they are losing the war and initiate plan for negotiation if not more and more innocent life will be wasted.

There were peace talks held in Istanbul in April of 2022, and the west thwarted any chance of peace.

Seeing a US Senator (in full uniform!) threw me for a bit; I had to go look up why he is there. He's there of his own accord; he isn't active duty obviously but there to "drum up support" basically. While he is within regs as to wearing the uniform, I can certainly see why a Russian drone flying past and seeing him would assume "NATO troops are in Ukraine". If he's there, this "training session" was 100% staged. No way in hell a US Senator would be in Iskander range....my guess is they aren't even in Ukraine.

He's a state senator. A former member of one of the two houses in the Nebraska legislature. He's probably an actual instructor in Ukraine, working for the Ukrainian army.
