Ukraine war: Inside frontline artillery unit

Videos of Ukrainian soldiers holding up their yellow and blue flag in newly liberated villages are once again circulating on social media.
(Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)
The gains might be small but the optics are as important as the kilometres being painstakingly taken back.
The offensive in the east of the country continues to gather pace along the 1,000 kilometre front line with, especially fierce fighting in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.
The Ukrainians say they’ve retaken a number of small villages to the south of Velyka Novosilka.
And some of the most intense fighting continues around Avdiivka, close to Russian controlled Donetsk city, and surrounded on three sides by Russian forces.

Ukraine needs F-16 and Gripen planes to use combined arms operation. How nice it would be for Ukrainian infantry units to call for their air wingmen as we do in the USA. Having these planes, Ukrainian front commanders would be saving thousands of their soldiers lives. Fighters are the most important, you can’t afford to waste them fighting these trench warfare (primitive fighting). The West should have given Ukraine the planes 8 months ago and using them now with the counteroffensive. The USA and NATO should stop the half measures and give Ukraine to win this war quickly and save Ukrainian lives

The Ukrainian strategy is not to take villages, like Russia does, but to take high-ground. Unfortunately this leaves the press with little to report, another 3 local hills fell today. These villages that fell yesterday were abandoned by Russian forces outflanked on higher ground. Russia manages this war like a PR exercise and that’s one reason why they’re losing.

You say this when Russian positions in the vicinity of the taken "settlements", which were all located in the grey zone on the Ukrainian deep state map itself, are higher grounds on the hill! I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about. Those positions were never incorporated within the 3 layers of Russian lines of defences created for the past 8 months, since October 2022. Unless we see an actual breach and breakthrough in that first Russian line of defence, what you're saying won't hold much ground! Especially that we've seen footage of lines of infantry with Leopard 2 tanks being destroyed by Russian artillery shells and airstrikes, since Ukraine lacks the air support to cover their ground forces.

Nobody knows that yet. If history thaught as one thing then that you should never celebrate too early. If this was a soccer game we would be in the 70th minute and it would be 1 : 1. It all depends on wether or not Ukraine will be able to depart the russian forces. If Ukrainian forces make it to the Sea Of Asov Russian forces in the east will be skrewed.

It must be very painful to have to destroy your own homelands buildings but Russia has made it CLEAR that they aren't holding back on a single thing. So in order for anyone to deal with Russia's inhumane depravity, it will take difficult sacrifices. I wish Russia did force this all to be occuring..

So how many years of fighting ahead? Who will win that prolonged war...i think Russia is hard to beat when it comes to that sort of war...

Compared to what the Russians got in so long a time, Ukraine's accomplishment is already a shock and awe, hope more rockets and F16s for Ukraine 💙💛
