Ukraine sends reinforcements to Kharkiv after Russian offensive | DW News
Ukraine says it's sending reinforcements to strengthen its positions near Kharkiv after a surprise Russian ground offensive prompted mass evacuations there. Russia said on Saturday it had captured five villages in the region. Hundreds of civilians are thought to have fled from the nearby town of Vovchansk, which is reportedly under Russian fire.

This is clasic soviet warfare. They are probing through all the front, starting new offensives when the ucranian forces are busy elswehre, forcing them constantly to re-distribute their formations and supplies (wouldn`t be surprised if they start an offensive at Jehrson once enough ukranian reinforcements arrive in Kharkiv), in hopes that their defences crumble at SOME point..... When this happens they will just pour reserves into the sector that has colapsed, while mantaining pressure at the other fronts......

The “Second Army” cannot take a city(Kharkiv) located 30 kilometers from the border in 2 and a half years. The world has never seen such shame.

Why is US providing most of the aid and not EU countries? EU needs to defend themselves. Plus Ukraine needs to clean up their corruption. $40 million in mortor rounds paid but never delivered. Which is what Ukraine needs.
What's not being reported are the people who volunteer to stay waiting for Russian troops. An entire Russian groups of soldiers was hidden in a town by the people until it was time to strike. The people don't want Zelensky. Most of Kharkiv is russian people. Russian soldiers have been living inside Kharkiv for months..

If Russia has decided to take back Kharkiv no one will stand in their way even if they can call boris johnson to the frontlines Kharkiv just like Avdiivka or Backmut is gone and since yesterday by the way Russia has already captured six territories in the very same Kharkiv region.

I do not understand why Russia does not supply the Houthis with hypersonic missiles capable of hitting US cities, because in the US view, supplying weapons does not mean being drawn into a military conflict.

@@RUTHLESSambition5 Liars like RU that doesn't honor any agreement they make? If one could make agreements with RU, then they would have followed the Budabest memorandum and never invaded Ukraine. RU will obviously need to be moved by force from Ukraine, by NATO forces if necessary.

Tactical defeat
If Russia is not sending its best troops and instead have new recruits on the ground then by the time the real show down begins the newbies will be battle tested and ready. Imagine how much of these soldiers who have so far been shot at and watched friends die and have experienced all the trauma of war compared to others who have yet to be baptized in gunpowder. Russia has put its soldiers under live ammunition training and called it a military operation.
