Ukraine: Has the US aid package come too late?

Ukraine will finally receive a 61 billion dollar US aid package. It’s taken six months to get through Congress. Even with a cash injection - can Ukraine continue to defend against advancing Russian forces?

@@user-yf9in9hb3o We do not have a good track record of getting what we pay for for the last 50 years. This is just another version of the Crusade. A money making machine on the back of taxpayers and the lives of millions of innocent people. Its disgusting.

No victory here. The best policy for Ukraine was to get along with Mother Russia. Concentrate rather on the checklist of joining the European Union and being the link to Russia.

We will probably be up to about 1.7 million 155mm a year by December. General Dynamics is doubling their capacity this year, and will continue to increase production capacity into 2025.

A major part of that $61bn will go to the US weapons manufacturers, Ukraine will see none of that. It is meant for ammo manufacturing mostly cos western stockpiles are empty. Once that ammo is made, the question is: will it all go to Ukraine? And even if it does, it will take weeks if not months for it to being made and then shipped to Ukrainians. The smaller amount that Ukraine will actually receive is being given in the form of a loan which means it is to be paid back with interest. How?

17:02 - Let me help here: (clearly this journalist can't count down from 20) 12 March 1999 - Czech Republic ; Hungary ; Poland joined. That is 3 strikes. What did Russia do? 29 March 2004 - Bulgaria ; Estonia ; Latvia ; Lithuania ; Romania ; Slovakia ; Slovenia joined. That is another 7 strikes. What did Russia do? (By the way, 25 years ago from 2024 is 1999 and 20 years ago from 2024 is 2004, that is what he was talking about, but clearly the journalist could only count to 16) He said the reason for NATO's expansions was Georgia 2008 . . Unless time started flowing backward, that makes no sense. Only on the 1st of April 2009 when Albania and Croatia joined, or on 5 June 2017 Montenegro joined or on 27 March 2020 when North Macedonia joined you could claim Georgia in 2008 was the cause (although, notice how much less countries at a time joined after 2008, ie the aggressive stance Russia took did start to give some pause if you compare the amount of nations joining at a time). So yeah, blaming Russian aggression for NATO expansion doesn't hold water. In fact the opposite can be true. NATO kept expanding, which lead to Russia being more aggressive.

The USА Congress just passed the law of a $61 Bn aid package to Ukraine that has a provision of providing ATACMS to Ukraine, but it Did Not say or specify where and which targets those long-range missiles can fire at. So, President Zelensky can give orders to his Generals to fire anywhere he deems necessary to defend his country including military targets deep inside Russia such as weapon depots, airfields, weapons manufactory, energy production facilities, air defense infrastructures, command control centers, troops concentration, etc. In other words, the Ukrainian Armed Forces can use ATACMS for any purpose to defend their country as they deem necessary. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin inferred in his press conference, no restrictions on the use of ATACMS since the law provides no 'Restrictions" on the use of those missiles.

This is just stupid in my opinion. You Western simpletons were screaming release the money when you should have been asking this question then. Instead, the scream was 'if Ukraine doesnt get thr £60 Bil, they will lose to Russia'. Now they got the money and the next discussion is "is it not too late?" Perhaps if you all had asked this question, maybe the answer would have been "Let us get Ukraine to negotiate peace while they could"
